3rd March 2020 at 12:17 am #80075Watford might scrape survival this season but as soon as the officials wise up to their tactics they’re gone.
Deeney in particular absolute gobshite.

3rd March 2020 at 2:25 am #80167AnonymousThe underdogs will get away with a little more sometimes, when it comes to not getting booked. I guess it’s kinda the reverse of how the bigger teams will maybe stand a better chance of getting a late penalty call. Refs are human being are are weak to the same kinda bias mechanics and pressure that we are.
I do think Oliver could have been better though. You’ve got to call the captain over after you’ve been lenient and then they keep at it.

3rd March 2020 at 12:23 pm #80416Anybody else wasted cple of hours watching the Clasico? What a bore! Real & Barca are dead & buried,so much deadwood in em 2 teams its unbelievable.A Clasico of 2 great nursing homes:Ramos,Marcelo,Kroos,Modric,Bale,Benzema vs Pique,Alba,Busquets,Rakitic,Vidal,Messi and the injured Suarez. There is more fun watching games from 3rd division in Scotland.

3rd March 2020 at 1:29 pm #80417Yep, can’t see any CL winner there and there’s two significant rebuilding jobs to be done.

3rd March 2020 at 1:34 pm #804189s-One would seriously struggle to somehow come up with a COMBINED 11 from these 2 teams.

3rd March 2020 at 3:06 pm #80422AnonymousEveryone talks about City in the CL this season (myself included). I have to wonder where on earth it all came from? I mean, why had they been favourites for the vast majority of the season? They have never done anything in the tournament.
I wouldn’t rule them out , sure but I also don’t think they will do it. Liverpool might find themselves out after the next match but I still think we’;re far more likely to win it than City.

3rd March 2020 at 3:25 pm #80425City on their day are one of the best teams in the world mav
They are better then any of the other teams from abroad left in the completion in my view
I donโt write city off because of how they really can be on their day.
I fancy them for the cl and fa cup
I think Liverpool are going out. Look at how Watford abd Madrid set up againest is? 11 men behind the ball and we couldnโt create anything
Itโs just my opinion mate. I hope Iโm wrong

3rd March 2020 at 5:03 pm #80428Mav, agreed buddie when I said “for a while” I was referring to City’s potential CL ban which could prevent them competing in the CL over the next 2 seasons.
As Sean rightly says on their day there are few better teams than City. If they manage to have a few of those days in the CL this season you never know but ban aside you would expect them to win it sooner rather than later.

4th March 2020 at 7:09 pm #80535AnonymousSean, I don’t disagree that an on form City are one of the best around, I’m not knocking them. I just find it really odd that they were suddenly very dominant and widely accepted favourites. It just doesn’t make any sense at all.
Liverpool win CL and finish a point behind City. Liverpool the previous seasons finalists too and Europa League finalists the year before. In fact, Liverpool have not been knocked out of a 2 legged European knock out round since Klopp arrived. City on the other hand have never made a final.
Now, before people think I’m having a go at City. I’m not. In fact, were I a City supporter I’d be wondering the same damn thing. Can someone give me a single good reason why City were instantly favourites to win the CL?
If they had been put in as 2nd or 3rd favourites, it would be fine. I’d say “well, they are an awesome side and they actually made the semi’s last time out. They’ve definitely got a shot”.

4th March 2020 at 7:14 pm #80536AnonymousSean, I wonder if we might finally be going out also. I am of course talking about early season.
It doesn’t exactly match the current situation but in 2005/06, after we wont he CL, we drew Benfica (I think) in the 1st knock out round. We were defending champions and very very confident but then we lost away. The feeling was that we’d snap out of it and beat them in the return but they beat us again and we were out.
We weren’t just beaten tactically the last day. We were complacent and we were not sharp. Trent’s delivery that night was terrible and we’ll need that to be on point int he return. We’ll at least have a game to watch for a response in the meantime.

5th March 2020 at 3:51 pm #80618Mak…the answer to your question is the media and betting industry. Like you, I said from the start this is still too soon for City but I hope they do well. I think most City fans, certainly what I know, think the same. To win it would be a bonus this year, nothing more but NOT favourites in my opinion. Next year I think will be our year. I also believe the media like to build up a story just to knock it down again, after all, what else is there to say?
