To me it seems possible that Mourinho has been taken over like one of those aliens from Simon Peggs The World’s End, his gone from one of the best managers in the world to a very below average manager, he even looks totally different. Can’t understand why top clubs like Spurs still hire him, surely they can see the difference.

2nd March 2020 at 8:17 am #79555AnonymousKingo, I was going nuts during the match that they were trying to injure our players and not getting booked. Horrible ref.

2nd March 2020 at 8:44 am #79556been off for a week so shall try to do some catch up
Arsenal playing well until the Europa, close but no cigar and cant say im bothered, we are not good enough to win it this season so focus on the PL and style of play and keep improving, we played a lot of games in a short patch so it was a step to far, FA Cup toinight against Kingos lot, should be a good match!well done Watford, pool lads may not have been bothered but i for one was very bothered!
i can relax now and enjoy pool taking the PL when they inevitably do!
thank you Maureen, ok Chucky wasnt the best starting 11 but he has also gotten you a lot more points over the period than maybe you deserved so a bit swiongs and roundabouts, keep him till 2030 😉
will try catch up the rest as the day goes on!

2nd March 2020 at 8:54 am #79557Anonymousmoos – or is he just taking over weaker and weaker teams? this spurs squad is a shambles. all the defenders need replacing, we have no midfield and all our attacking threats are injured.
this season under poch we averaged 1.17 points per game and were 14th in the league. the football was dreadful. under mourinho, we have averaged 1.63 points per game and are joint 3rd in the table based on the time since mourinho came in. the football is still dreadful but definitely more effective.
there is no doubt mourinho has improved spurs but unfortunately he has had to call upon players like gazzaniga, dier, lucas moura.

2nd March 2020 at 9:01 am #79558I’m far more interested in trophies than records and I never actually thought Liverpool would go all season unbeaten. Yes it would be nice to share the invincible tag with Preston North End and Arsenal but not the end of the world that we can’t. I thought it would be Man City that ended the run so in a way it’s good to lose to Watford compared to City or even worse Everton because of the gloating by rival fans would be unbearable.
What I’m not happy about was the performance, absolute crap. Lovren was terrible and seems to be taking all the flak as is his role these days it seems but that was by far the worst I seen VvD play. In addition to the defence problems, since Fabinho returned or maybe since Hendo got injured there’s been huge gaps in the middle and teams can cut through us and create good scoring chances very easily. Reminds me when we played Can as a DM and he would wonder off leaving the CBs over exposed.
Hopefully it’s got rid of any complacency within the team and they refocus.
And Watford were excellent, could of been 4 and would of been deserved.

2nd March 2020 at 9:18 am #79559AnonymousLovren takes the flak because he was the worst but it was the worst of a bad bunch and I agree, Van Dijk was dreadful. Robertson and Alisson are the only 2 that I think did alright. Sure Alisson made a bit of a mistake but he made up for it. Robertson put in the effort, which was void everywhere else. How poor was Mane? I’ve never seen such a low effort match from him. He bucked up a bit as the game went on but just not good enough. Very uncharacteristic performance from Sadio.
I don’t want to go on to much about though, what’s done is done and Klopp will give them an almighty kick up the arse over this, regardless of him being magnanimous for the cameras.
With this loss and the way of it though, I’m not sure I care about the rest of the PL season. We’ll see as the next match approaches but if we play a first half like that again, I might just turn it off and do something else with my time. At least we have the FA Cup coming and also the CL. We can definitely rest players in the PL now, I mean, screw it right? Play the 1st team against Chelsea and demand a bloody reaction from them. Those players owe Klopp a performance.

2nd March 2020 at 9:45 am #79570We were always going to have some kind of blip and it’s here now. Always happens around now.
Have to agree about fabhino. Far to open in midfield.
Bobby not playing well now. You would swear we lost the league over the weekend such is the over reaction. Shows how far we have come as opposing fans (not on here) really took great pleasure in that over the weekend. It’s took years and we are finally a big team now again in works football and others are praying for us to fail
Hopefully we can bounce back soon

2nd March 2020 at 9:51 am #79573AnonymousSean. Watford have been giving everyone a game since Pearson took over. Give a slight pulse to the title race but, the measure of a championship winning side is in the rebound… bouncebackability… You guys could have a blip for the rest of the season and still walk it.

2nd March 2020 at 10:44 am #79575AnonymousSean, we’ll have to agree to disagree regards whether it was an over-reaction or not. I feel correct in my response to the players not trying and nothing will change my mind on that. I don’t want to continue the discussion only to re-state the precise point of annoyance from myself.
As for being a big team again, we are THE team now. The unbeaten run seems to have spawned some animosity. I wouldn’t be too quick to laugh if I were an opposing fan. We finally did something many of their teams do on a regular basis and they find that amusing? … Well, I know I do 😀
I, like many, was hoping to see my team have the greatest league season in history. That’s still possible even with the loss but I think it’s incredibly unlikely now as I just don’t see us winning more than 6-7 of the remaining games, if that.
Let the lads play out the title but I hope they snap the FLIP out of it for tomorrow and the Madrid matches. That’s all I’m thinking of now. I’m honestly over the PL.

2nd March 2020 at 11:22 am #79578442, Watford fully deserved their win. They outfight and outplayed us
Pearson is doing a very good job but they had gone 5 without a win when we played them. I know it be a very tough game though

2nd March 2020 at 11:23 am #79579Mak, I’m kind of talking about opposing fans. You would think we lost the league the way some utd fans are going on on social media.

2nd March 2020 at 2:34 pm #79660AnonymousI get you now Seany boy.
As for Twitter fans, ya… very hard to take. Twitter is a cesspool.
nine, I had a feeling that Fernandez would give Utd a massive boost. I wasn’t sure of course because I only had YT videos and his previous stats and also some commentary about the character and grit of the man, from various sources online. It’s the last bit that kinda sealed it for me (Also knowing what Utd lacked of course, besides strikers!), in terms of being a good guestimate of how he’d go.
He’s got that Suarez kinda mentality. Sometimes it’s bad but usually it’s damn good to have in your team. Utd will need to back this up with more good signings in the summer but he’s a big step in the right direction.
