Mak, yeah “not a chance” was a bit OTT. I just don’t fancy us in this kind of game at all. Carlo has them playing well again and Ighalo up top just doesn’t cut it against the better sides. Hard to see where our goals would come from with the players we have put at the moment

1st March 2020 at 11:20 am #79498Ed, utd have a great chance at goodison. Everton are still conceding goals.
Utd arenβt. Utds defence looks much better and they look much more organised without the ball.
Interesting game I have to say.
Both teams are on decent runs.
The next few games will tell if utd really
Are starting to get a bit more consistent_____________________________

1st March 2020 at 11:28 am #79499Chelsea1967, I really didnβt think about going unbeaten. Iβm
Absolutely shocked at the reaction from opposing fans (not on here) about us losingI really didnβt know people cared so much about it as I certainly didnβt. I knew we wouldnβt go unbeaten. Said it many times and we will drop points again this season
All that should matter is winning the pl. talk of trebles and all is just silly. Get the league won
Brian, I totally agree. All this is built up by the media. Itβs just ridiculous

1st March 2020 at 11:36 am #79501BBlue, well said mate, I havenβt been able to watch games so I canβt claim to be pβd by the lack of effort or whatever but everything Iβve been reading is how lucky weβve been in a some recent games & how weβve just scraped through. No mistake this loss was coming but after seeing the highlights itβs sad to see the lack of fight & urgency in the players. I get itβs been a crazy good season but the title isnβt even won yet & IMO we are not looking likely to get through in the CL considering the lack of form the lads have been showing. I wonβt be relaxed about it until we win the required games & get the title sewn up because going off current form i can see some more losses coming up. This loss will either waken the lads up or they could crumble under pressure, itβll be interesting to see what happens.

1st March 2020 at 11:40 am #79502BB the media has well and truly gone over the top. I agree with Sean, this is a great team but there has certainly been better. Well balanced with some real game changers but not like the dominant city teams of recent years. Hopefully a couple of EPL titles in the next couple of seasons & we can call them one of the greatest.

1st March 2020 at 11:58 am #79503Anonymous“There is nothing worse for a fan, no matter what team, is when a team performs without interest or drive. I never mind losing a game as long as the effort is there.”
Brian, thats exactly it. I think most don’t know why Im so annoyed about it and it is because the lads just didnt care.
“You will still win the league” is meaningless when I’ve looked forward to 90 minutes of football and then watched them just not be bothered.
They better sort themselves out before the madrid game, or it’ll be the last they play in Europe this season.
I really want to press home the point though in just how good Gomez is and how poor Lovren was in trying to replace him
It was Mikus or Threeps who said that we were too high up and he had a point but not every defensive mistake came as a result of this issue. I do feel bad for Lovren in a way. I think he suffers from anxiety, like myself. He had to come i to a match and cover for an amazing player, without any kind of time to settle back in… and the lads around him just didnt give a smeg… but as someone else pointed out, he really unsettled the entire defence.
Its also taking a moment to credit Klopp in getting more from the sum of these players. I think at least half dont win the CL with another side. Many are not amongst the best in the world but the combination that Klopp has created adds up to more than the sum of some of the tradional world class teams.
It, along with the lack of effort etc were highlighted in its absence, yesterday.

1st March 2020 at 11:59 am #79504Seem to remember when we beat Utd 4-1 in 2009, it gave Utd the kick up the backside they needed, or so the Man Utd fans I knew told me at the time. And so it proved thereafter…

1st March 2020 at 12:13 pm #79506Sean, I was more suprised by some of the posters on the Liverpool site.
I couldn’t understand some of those reactions against the team given last season winning the CL and with the PL all but won.
I haven’t seen too much from opposition fans Martial popping up on the Liverpool site with a mocking post though was as about as predictable as day following night.

1st March 2020 at 12:17 pm #79507I think Everton v United is difficult to predict if someone twisted my arm I would go with a draw or a United win but it probably won’t be an easy game for either team.

1st March 2020 at 2:06 pm #79512AnonymousSean, I give a fuck. i would honestly love the invincibles label. That season is still being talked about to this day because ti was an incredible achievement. That for me is part of the legacy that a team creates, so I disagree with you in thinking that it’s just silliness.
I’m not making the argument that records are more important than trophies. Consider records to be like “garnishing” the winning of competitions.
The same can be said about the points totals. We could lose almost every game from here on and still win the Pl but would you say that it then has the same value as if we were to win every game from here? If you stand by your position that the record is just silly then you’d have to say yes but you’d be wrong in my opinion.
You’re welcome to your stance on the matter though and me to mine. No matter which side of the fence you’re on though, you want your team to win every match they play in, or to at least make a decent effort of it, right?
I certainly wouldn’t be ok with the lads winning 4 more games and then playing the kids for all of the remainder.

1st March 2020 at 2:38 pm #79514Going unbeaten for the whole season in the PL was always a massive ask that’s why it’s only been done by two teams Preston 1888/89 and Arsenal in 2003/04.
Once the League was won there was always a fairly high chance of Liverpool losing a game or two so even though Watford beat them yesterday before the title had been officially won it was always likely to happen before the end of the season imo.
Liverpool have waited 30 years to win the title most on here have never seen them win a title and Liverpool are still likely to win it by a record number of points and whatever happens from here Liverpool will have had a great season and there will be plenty to celebrate.

1st March 2020 at 2:39 pm #79515Everytime I watch Pickford in a big game…..bad error. I just dont rate him as England keeper.
De Gea was a bit unlucky with his error.Utd are the better side here.

1st March 2020 at 2:40 pm #79516One all at Goodison but only one team in it really currently Everton will do well to escape with a point courtesy of De Gea’s amazing blunder.

1st March 2020 at 2:42 pm #79517Yes Pagan a bit of an unlikely error from DDG but Pickford’s error was a real Goalkeeping error. His England place is under pressure which probably caused his outburst a couple of weeks ago.

1st March 2020 at 2:57 pm #79520Brilliant from Keano “I don’t need the stats to tell me Pickford is not a good Goalkeeper.I don’t care if he is the England Goalkeeper he is not a good Goalkeeper.” Keane is always good for some great quotes.
