It’s a matter of opinions, fair dos but anybody saying we don’t completely miss him????? I’d struggle to buy that.
Our all round team game has improved and we’ve been more measured than an all out gung-ho, but when we need somebody to dribble, cut inside and UNLEASH ONE we now miss in Coutinho.
I love little Shaqiri and he’s tries his best, but we can’t leave it all to him to pull the rabbit out of the hat.
This is where the OX comes into the equation. I do hope a Coutinho type of player is on Klopp’s radar when the Summer Transfer Window kicks in.

8th February 2019 at 2:42 pm #3318627-I honestly dont want to see United spend big-much rather spend well & buy for the future, with the aim of building a team capable of challenging in a couple of years and playing together for a while, without the need to be requiring replaced every year. Also, really want to see United give youth a chance instead of buying expensive foreign players in the ilk of Rojo,Darmian,Fellaini,& over the hill players .i.e.Mata,Matic,& Sanchez!
Surely you too,as a Chelsea fan, would much rather see the likes of CHO,RLC,& TA,given chances instead of the likes of Pedro and Giroud?
Shocked that United scouts are failing miserably spotting the likes of Chilwell,Maddison,A.Wan-Bissaka,Demaray Gray,Maguire, Brooks, etc, instead of the overrated foreign import like Rojo,Darmian,Lindelof,Bailly, and the past their best players in Mata,Herrera,Matic,Sanchez, etc!

8th February 2019 at 2:54 pm #33189Mav, the trick is to do both spend but spend well.
You’re right Chelsea have some exciting youngsters how you integrate them in the first team is the challenge. Remember “you win nowt with kids”.?

8th February 2019 at 2:54 pm #33190AnonymousWell, Utd don’t need to spend anywhere near what they thought they did. You lads are on PL winning form right now, it’s just a shame that ye didn’t fire Jose sooner. I said it here ages ago and on the other site, i had a few rants regards Utd almost begging them to get it together and sack Mourinho before it was too late. That didn’t happen until it was almost too late to get 4th but ye might just do it.
I also said Chelsea would challenge for the title, so what do I know!

8th February 2019 at 3:05 pm #33194They’ve sort of been a little like Liverpool though in the 90s after Dalglish’s departure trying to find the right formula ala Players and Manager;
First, Moyes, then Van Gaal, then Jose. As an ‘interim’ Solskjaer has already proved himself in a short space of time how much goodness he can bring with the players he’s been given to work with.

8th February 2019 at 5:47 pm #33199Ive read the posts with interest. Agree with some points not others. Last year/previous we had to replace much of our aging squad. I think we did that pretty well and did not get blackmailed into silly wages.
Liverpool squad is good but needs some reserves. Utd spent a lot too. But the ones to admire are Spurs. Right there and v little spend.
Madrid and Barca are the proof that its all about money(spent well). Sadly its about owner wealth or increasing your debt. We have owner wealth, Utd its debt. Real its the Spanish Royal family and local authority. PSG its wealthy owners. Liverpool? One good sale, semi wealthy owners and some good buys. Spurs wealthy owner but expensive ground and tight chairman!! Plus decent manager. All sorts of reasons. It terms of each week its down to the manager.

8th February 2019 at 7:30 pm #33209AnonymousWe’ve been over the money side of things enough. It does come down to what happens on the pitch. Look at the disgrace Mourinho’s Utd was. Look at them now. Honestly, I’m starting to think that it isn’t just a honeymoon period but we’ll see after they’ve played a few top teams. Honeymoon for me is usually 4 or 5 games but I could be wrong. regardless, the same expensive team were a joke under Jose.
Look at City. You all know that they broke 100 points because of a combination of great management and their selection of players. The same can be said for Klopp’s Liverpool. He gets more out of players than most managers and yes, he gets paid an absolute fortune but it’s all done on the pitch in the end of the day. Money doesn’t buy success outright, it’s a catalyst for it though, if it’s used right and to be totally fair with City and also my own team, they’ve spent a lot in recent years but they’ve also put it to work. The same cant be said for Jose’s Utd.
Spurs. Honestly, I’ve credited them in the past for how they’ve done so well with what they have (not spending)… but they have a CRACKING team. Liverpool are no better there overall. We’re doing better but I think we’ve got to take it easy with the praise for Spurs. They didnt spend but they kept their brilliant side together. That means no time getting players used to the PL. It means they are all used to playing with eachother and it also signals a strong unity within the squad. So I just don’t buy into this idea that they are somehow at a disadvantage to others because they haven’t spent… To a point but it’s gone overboard. You’d swear they were going into games with one hand tied behind their backs.
You know who could have done with some other players? Liverpool. We didn’t buy anyone in January. Where’s the talk of this? I’ll tell you where it is. It’s out of the mouth of the media if we lose our next match.

8th February 2019 at 9:44 pm #33217And, just because Liverpool haven’t won the League Championship for 29 years, why are we placing ourselves as inferior and having forced to place other teams on a Pedestal?
