7th February 2019 at 2:25 pm #33080Mav, only temporarily United will beat Fulham and go above Chelsea this weekend. Be nip and tuck for 4th place just like the title race imo.

7th February 2019 at 7:49 pm #33090AnonymousMy reasons for my annoying disappointed posts mostly based around how our team play without Gomez at the back. yes other players being out obviously hurts too but that’s by far the biggest one for me, Wijnaldum also.
That isn’t all of it though, it’s the performances and the total lack of confidence that we’ve shown in the last 2 matches. The pressure has been building and we have not handled it well. You can play the best football ever on your day but champions are winners before a ball has been kicked and they are winners before the final whistle. We’ve played a nervous brand of football lately and the pressure is only going to build from here.
I may have over-stated my position before but make no mistake, the last 2 games are incredibly telling and my own opinion on this is that some very drastic changes in mentality have got to take place if we’re to have a chance of winning the title.
Can we do it? Of course we can. Will we? Maybe but City are slight favourites.
I was definitely a believer there until the horrible wobbly defending came back to haunt us but maybe Lovren can come back and hold the fort til Gomez recovers. i shouldn’t have said that City will win the league but it was a hard fall back to Earth.
Look, we can hope for improvement in the next game. I think the title is 55:45 in favour of City.

7th February 2019 at 7:58 pm #33091AnonymousMaybe City are 60:40 they’ve got the smell of blood now. We’ll see what we do to as a response to our last few performances.

7th February 2019 at 8:28 pm #33096Mak the fact of the matter is c$ty have a far superior squad to the rest of us as they’ve spent a an unbelievable amount of money on it to which no one can match. That’s the bottom line mate, money talks & c$ty have pretty much an unlimited amount

7th February 2019 at 8:39 pm #33097Is there any way we can refrain using $? Anything would think there was some sort of a grudge for the sake of their wealth.

7th February 2019 at 8:41 pm #33098My bad Oz it was City losing 3 of their last 8 PL games prior to last night 3 in 9 if you include last night starting with the Palace game on the 22/12. Not great though is it?

7th February 2019 at 8:45 pm #33099I agree with three ps.
The bottom line is: It’s a competition. and irrespective of the depth of Man City’s squad and the monies spent as investment, on the pitch it has proved at least 2 clubs in Tottenham and Liverpool have been able to compete.
It’s not a david v goliath and last season we beat City in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
Some sections of the media brown-nose City yet forget or dismiss at the back of their mind that at one point, City were 3rd in the Table (overtaken by Spurs). Yet, I still read “they will run away with it” or “will win by 10 points”.
There is no way on this planet they will dominate a full decade, no way. There’s plenty of money in the game and plenty of investors out there.

7th February 2019 at 8:47 pm #33100Mak @7:49, Gomez won’t be injured forever mate, he’ll be back.
As with Ox as well. It’s hugely frustrating when we are depleted, but when we have our strongest, we’re the best in the League (I believe).

7th February 2019 at 8:50 pm #33101Nine @1:36,
It’s a tough game in hand for us mate, agree on that. However, the same could be said for when Man City go there and I don’t think it’ll be an easy ride for them, plus United probably now believe they can get 4th Spot.

7th February 2019 at 8:51 pm #33102Nobody can deny City have spent a lot of money but FFP is beginning to bite they spent just £6.7m net this season.

7th February 2019 at 9:40 pm #33104New Balance…..I think too much is being placed on Gomez injury. He is an up and coming star and young…all good but fans have to reliaze this is a team/squad game and either bench or tactical decisions should be applied.
City did not apply themselves correctly for 4 games and paid the price, I hope they have learned the lesson and we are all in for an exciting finale to the season, whoever wins, deserve it_____________________________

7th February 2019 at 10:04 pm #33105AnonymousNil, it’s one thing to be telling people to stop posting negative comments. Honestly, I don’t even feel totally ok with this because people will post how they feel things are going and the difference is what makes it worth discussing (usually). To be asking people to not attach the $ to City is another thing though, especially when it’s not just a wind-up.
It’s a fact that city are where they are today on the back of spending money. I’m not as bothered about it as others but I do think it’s gone a little far.
Oz, they’ve bought themselves the best kind of advantage. They’ve had loads of money and they’ve spent it well. They have a great manager and the team play well for him. That said, it’s an advantage, it’s not the result. I am a lot more grim than I was a few weeks ago but it’s not an insurmountable advantage. I won’t say that they haven’t bought the league because they’ve not won it yet. For us to be doing as well as we are and to not be top by quite a bit is disheartening but it aint over (even if the lads are playing like it is).
Gomez might be back at some stage Nil but will it matter by then? Just like Oz, you can’t know. It could be all over within the next 3 weeks.
I said Goez’s injury would cost us, maybe come the end of the season I’ll be saying it cost us the title. Or maybe we’ll get our shit together and get a run going.
The next game is huge. We need a response.

No, it’s the exact opposite. Not enough is being made of it.
