Nil poor old Klopp is going to cop it. I think he’s a sensational manager with a lot of passion & a lot of guts to take in teams not doing so well & gradually building them up over a few seasons. The problem he has in the EPL is c$ty we’re just too far ahead & only need a couple of tweaks each season to stay up the top. Money talks old mate & c$ty have a lot more than the rest, simple as that.
On another note I’d like to see Leeds get back into the EPL, I’ve always had a soft spot for them & itd be great to see the back in the top flight._____________________________

4th February 2019 at 11:53 pm #32919There’s no doubt the injuries have made life difficult and have obviously contributed to our current form. But given that we have still propelled our way to the top, I’m not sure this tone that Klopp has been conveying that “we’re just enjoying the ride” has been the right one. I understand he’s been trying to take the pressure off, but at the same time I wonder if it’s taken some of the urgency away from our performances. Is he ruthless enough?
Aussie, City have still lost 4 games with only just over half of the season gone. So they are beatable. We’ve simply not been able to capitalise on it for a variety of reasons, with resources only being a part of it.

5th February 2019 at 12:16 am #32920Anonymous“Mak, it’s not over mate Liverpool are still in a fantastic position ”
It is over and you know it.
You have spoken from the perspective of a fan who’s seen his team win the league, well, you’ve also seen Liverpool in all this time. You’ve seen other pretenders in this time.
You know right well that we’re pretenders.

5th February 2019 at 12:20 am #32921Anonymous“FFS Mak, this comment takes the biscuit. I followed City, home and away, in the third tier – missed only four games that season. Get a grip, it’s only a game. ”
and I’ve supported Liverpool all the way since 92. Thats not the year I was born either, its the year I actually started supporting the club. I was 12 then.
I’m really not in the mood for a lecture or a fight though. Let’s just leave it. I can only be disappointed.

5th February 2019 at 12:33 am #32922Anonymous“Mak I tried warning you mate don’t get sucked in, Sean knows, money talks old mate, it’s all that matters in sport these days. Sad but true.”
You didnt just try to tell me, I heard what you said. I didn’t agree but you will remember that I didn’t counter it directly. Your doubts were my own, it’s just that in my case, they were countered by some more positive things.
This game was much more important to me than it was to almost everyone here.. maybe everyone.
I wasn’t joking or over-stating when I said that it was a match we had to win if we wanted to prove that we could do it.
We couldn’t though.
I will say, Lallana gets MotM for me. How much fitness could he really have had? I actually feel a little guilty for suggesting that he might not have it anymore.. but he did a lot with the 90% fitness that he had. He should start again and who knows.. All the same, we missed Gini. Not quite as much as the last game. The midfield was more secure without Henderson. It still lacked creativity though.

5th February 2019 at 12:38 am #32923Oz, some fair points there mate relating to resources.
Over almost a 10 year period of investment, we’ve seen growth with FSG. I think once Ian Ayre’s left though, things have moved in a better direction for us and we are and have spent big money; e.g. Kieta, Van Dijk, Allison, Fabinho.
It is a gradual process you’re right there. And Klopp as far as I’m concerned is delivering progress. The challenge and the frustrations is the obvious Silverware to show for our progress and of course, the elusive Premier League Title.
We must have done something right to be close to winning it in recent seasons, but clearly just not enough.
This is still the best League and even better experience from recent seasons. We just need to be on the right end for once in actually winning something. The beauty of this league compared to previous decades is that there is more hope of teams causing an upset when on paper, it looks completely out of the question.
Plenty more games left. I think once the CL kicks back in next week, that will do us some good. We exited too early out of the FA Cup, so we only have had domestic football and so the spotlight on us is accentuated even greater.
We should get back to winning ways this weekend. Lets
hope in the meantime a certain Everton can lend us a helping hand._____________________________

5th February 2019 at 12:44 am #32925Oz, forgot to add, with you on Leeds too and would love to see them back in the Top Flight. I would agree in some ways, this league is a bit too samey, and the same teams are the only ones discussed and nobody else.

5th February 2019 at 2:52 am #32926Mikus c$ty have played most of the season with numerous players out, They have almost a full squad now & make no mistake they will win the EPL. No one can compete with their depth.

5th February 2019 at 3:01 am #32927Nil the cups are our best chance of silverware & we are out of the domestic ones. I can’t really see is bothering the top teams in the C/L the way we are going. We pretty much needed a season with f all injuries to be any chance but that was never going to happen.
Best manager & owners we’ve had for many years has coincided with the most expensive squad ever as competition & unfortunately money is the ruling factor in sport these days._____________________________

5th February 2019 at 6:04 am #32930Sack Silva if we beat Man City on Wednesday
— ㅤً (@Evertxn) February 4, 2019
Everton fans seemingly want to lose tomorrow! Even if/when City win, Liverpool still hold the advantage. Every club in the league, City included, would swap places with Liverpool in a heartbeat. Have some faith lads!

5th February 2019 at 6:48 am #32931AnonymousDifficult to understand how a ref can give you two huge, incorrect, offside decisions- one leading to a goal and the other a huge chance to win the match – and still face criticism from the benefitting manager.
“In 50-50 situations it was always a free-kick for the other team, which was hard and did not make life easy.”
Klopp can’t, we’ll he can but shouldn’t be allowed to, get away with questioning a referee’s integrity. FA can’t (but will) keep warning him about his behaviour. Hard to think Jose would be allowed to go into the pitch and berate a ref and then say that afterwards and get away with it.

5th February 2019 at 7:07 am #32932Haha cityboy if Liverpool had the squad you have & the finances you have even I wouldn’t be to concerned about being a massive 3 points behind the leaders with well over double figures in games to go with a better for & against. Trust me mate, c$ty will have it wrapped up with games to spare.
Ed not a chance would c$ty swap spots with Liverpool, all things considered they are in a better position. Squad almost full fitness, in form after easily beating a top 4 rival & the leaders capitulating with players out of form & injured. As I said to cityboy, it’ll be wrapped up with games to spare._____________________________

5th February 2019 at 7:15 am #32934Well, that was a bit of a turn-up, I saw Pool go 1-up and figured that was that and went to bed.
Sounds like perhaps they were a bit fortunate to end up with a point.
Certainly makes the race a bit more exciting for us neutrals, that’s for sure, and certainly makes my prediction of City winning it with 4/5 games to spare look a bit silly.
And the race for the CL is getting a bit tasty too!

5th February 2019 at 7:35 am #32935Chucks I still think c$ty will have it wrapped up with some to spare. Still a long way to go & they are getting near full strength. Like us your lot just doesn’t have the depth to maintain a challenge. People put me on the negative but I predicted this when we were 8 or 10 points ahead of c$ty & a lot we’re predicting Liverpool to win it. A drop in form from VVD, a couple of injuries & front 3 really not firing all season it was always just going to be a matter of time until we capitulated. We could well finish 3rd but should have enough for top 4.
