A lot of yesterday’s game reminded me of the games vs Utd. Everton’s tactic was to disrupt Liverpools control by marking the channels out from defence to Gravenberch and it worked very effectively. Like utd they didn’t try and play through us, but they found a way to compete. I feel this is a bit of an Achilles heel for Slot when coming up against less technical, lower level premier teams like Utd and Everton and something he needs to address.
Eveeton deserved their draw no doubting that, but that the 2nd goal should not have counted. The ball looped up and Konate would have headed it away easily if not pushed allowing the ball to bounce in the penalty area.

Disappointed with Oliver. How did we evening reach 8 minutes?
They wanted to make it a ‘thing’ about last game st Goodison. Will they play all their matches the way they did?
We’ve struggled against bottom sides that play kick n rush and wrestle though massivev credit to Macca and Zobo specially for really being resilient.
Disappointed with TNT Sports especially the commentary team and not even giving Liverpool at least some credit.
We got Villa away but every time we drop points a big thing is made out of it.
One of the reasons I don’t get too carried away 😐🫡

I know you lot will hate this, and yes, two wrongs don’t make a right, but I certainly thought from what I saw the ref let a few things go for both sides (as mentioned in last nights post, I thought Pool got away with 3 decisions which I seen given in other games), and were certainly giving as good as they got… certainly didn’t think it was all “one-way” on your poor little darlings…

Sean, Konate was pushed whilst in the air. Could be the strongest player ever lived if you have no resistance you can still be moved in the air! He jumped to head the ball away and would have cleared it had he not be fouled.
Just another inept ref decision, or he bottled it knowing the locals would probably start a riot if chalked off.

Yeah Sean, agree with all that mate. Just the experience and the manner of it all although, that’s expected. Dropped 2 points, but it’s not dented us.
We can’t expect to be 20 points clear like the media think and every opposition is tough and deserve the respect. I’m actually very happy with the spirit shown by our guys and the effort. They seem physically more stronger too under Slot and it looks like the training regime has changed. Just a slight struggle at times though when it comes to physical battles but nothing that a future new center half and DM wouldn’t resolve and strengthen.

The other question is why so much time added on? If there’s an injury in injury time then of course add more time but the injury happened with 11secs of the 5 additional minutes left. So why add over 3 minutes more? You don’t add time the injury took to sort out if that time goes over the already declared added time. Should have restarted, played 10-20 seconds then blew.

You do know the rules stat the injury is “minimum” and it’s entirely down to the refs discretion? (I think, now that I think about it!)
Maybe the ref thought Pool, like all teams do in that sort of situation, were taking the piss once they were winning and into game management mode…
Have to admit, win we were winning against Brentford the other week, they stuck 8 minutes up then, I was swearing at the TV about where that lot came from…
I guess we all feel different depending on whether we’re winning or not! 🙂

For that to be the case there would need to be 3 minutes of time wasting in the 5 minutes of added time amd as someone that actually watched that part I can assure you that didn’t happen. Any other time wasting is already accounted for on the 5 minutes.
