Actually, the best thing that could happen to Utd is a 5y ear transfer ban,and only allowed to sign players from domestic leagues for £1m or less.

23rd January 2020 at 11:42 am #61361Still,cant believe we are only talking about United, well done Burnley.Played some fantastic footie last night, fought with heart & zeal, and scored a worldy-in the words of P.Merson.

23rd January 2020 at 11:56 am #61365AnonymousIt’s pretty understandable though, to not be talking about Burnley. Utd are in a massive crisis. I mean, it’s odd to say that while they were chasing a CL place just recently. other sides form has been up and down too though, which doesn’t help shine a light on Utd. They need a critical eye from their owners but they really are just interested in money it seems.
They own the club but it’s worthless if nobody fills seats or buys jerseys. Boycott and hold organized protests. Work together to best impact the Glaciers and get your message across, without of course bringing any negative press upon yourself. Do it. Get talking about it with your Utd supporting friends.

23rd January 2020 at 12:18 pm #61371I watched Burnley set up defensively with 6 across the backline and United huff and puff trying to break it all down and then get their asssss burnt and I compared it to two things, Many of Chelsea’s recent defeats and the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. I have a young 4 year old grandson and so that one has also surfaced regularly the last few months.

23rd January 2020 at 1:31 pm #61386I’m not sure there’s too much wrong with United that the return of Rashford, Pogba , McTominay, a change of Manager and three or four top signings won’t pretty much fully fix.

23rd January 2020 at 1:33 pm #61388Agree with Mav I thought Burnley were fabulous last night brilliant defensively and dangerous on the counter attack. They would have pretty much given everyone a difficult game last night.

23rd January 2020 at 1:40 pm #61390I tend to agree with that Nine. People saying Utd are 10-20 years from catching up with Liverpool seem to forget it’s not even 2 years we finished 2 places above them and second only to a brilliant City side, albeit some way behind.
It’s not a quick fix at all but getting that next managerial appointment right (easier said than done, granted) is the key.

23rd January 2020 at 1:51 pm #61394Kylie-Come on my sexy Aussie tart,he [shttttsst] never said Liverpool should win all the time,he only wished Liverpool would win the PL title once.I can understand it as they went for so long without it.

23rd January 2020 at 1:54 pm #613979s-By the same token, young man,the same applies to Spurs,Chelsea,Arse,Everton and City. So,in theory, next year Liverpool should brace themselves for a 6-7 team title challenge.

23rd January 2020 at 1:55 pm #61398Stevo, the common theme on the United site seems to be Woodward to return to CFO and have no football involvement, Luis Campo to come in as DOF and Poch to be appointed Manager.

23rd January 2020 at 2:00 pm #61401Mav, Lol. Hopefully.?
But track back a couple of seasons and Liverpool were competing for a top 4 spot and a number of Liverpool fans were frustrated with Klopp’s inability to solve their defensive problems 3 or 4 good signings later and Liverpool are where they are now. Admittedly they had Klopp which was a big advantage but football can turn around very quickly as history proves.

23rd January 2020 at 2:06 pm #61405Steveo, right now I’m not sure. I’ve had my reservations about Poch, but compared to Nagelsmann & Allegri, for example, he at least knows the league. But, it just worries me that he never won anything and his Spurs side seemed to just stop playing for him.
I’d be very tempted to try to go for Van der Sar as DoF and Ten Hag. I know they wouldn’t come cheap but this would be my ideal pair for a few reasons:
– VDS knows the club, the expectations, commands respect, has great contacts.
– Ten Hag has a clear playing style
– Ajax and Utd both share a common tradition of promoting players from the academy
– Ten Hag has done well in the CL and won trophies domesticallyI realise it’s a gamble but all the options are, for various reasons. Again, this is only because you’re giving me the choice of the pair. If I’m just picking a manager, my choice may be different.

23rd January 2020 at 2:09 pm #61407What really frightens me is that England might have a semi-decent Euros and Southgate might then decide to call it a day with England. Our incompetent board see that Southgate has done ok with England and been popular with the fans and give him the job as he’d be another yes man. That would be a complete disaster

23rd January 2020 at 2:13 pm #61409dont think we will do anything this euros, we will have no strikers and be more knackered than any other team as always, and no matter how much air con they pump in our players will fade and sweat there way to average crappy performances and defeats and be home early treating hte sunburn
id be more worried by P Nev if he does well with the ladies, especially being an old boy 😉

23rd January 2020 at 2:15 pm #61410Not sure. His stock has fallen a lot since the World Cup (P.Nev). Or Wales have a good Euros and they drag back Giggsy. Another disaster waiting to happen
