Klopp used to not go for big stars but he’s changed that philosophy a bit since he came here. Van Dijk and Alisson were both record transfers at the time. Add the likes of Keita and maybe even Fabinho and you see that he’s definitely not afraid to spend fairly big.
I would still agree with you though, in saying that he prefers to go for players who are not in any headlines but really, I would say that it is down to Edwards and FSG’s attitude to spending that we’re seeing this kind of pattern.
Our general transfer business has been an incredible success but it’s not perfect. For instance, we’re going to take a bath on that Keita fee (was it over 55m or something?). I consider him to be a failed signing. People might disagree and that’s fair enough but even when he’s fit, I think he can do better. He shows some promise sometimes that makes me think “ok, maybe I’ll give him another chance” and then he gets injured again.
I think we’d be lucky to recoup 30m on him but I would try and sell him and get in someone better. Perhaps this 30m would be enough to pay for KDB?.. or 40m π

26th January 2020 at 9:04 am #61985Every time Keita gets going, he gets injured mak.
He started off well when he signed then got injured. Did well towards end of the season then got injured. When he came back this season, he was good and scored some important goals but then got injured.
He just gets injured to much. Thereβs a real player in there but he just misses to many games

Or we could offer Β£10 million for VD plus your choice of Academy players but only one please!!!!!!! Hope it makes you smile for this Sunday morning.. Good luck to day_____________________________

26th January 2020 at 11:44 am #61993AnonymousSean, in my opinion, from all the times he’s played, I’ve seen 80% poorish matches and 20% decent/good… That’s not good enough. The injuries have to be factored in though, also. For and against the argument. How did we not know that he was made of paper when we signed him?
Brian, if you’re going to take Alisson from us, is there an option where we don’t get Bravo? I’ll extend that to Otemendi also, just take the players man. π

26th January 2020 at 3:46 pm #62011Our match was a total non event. Ruined by the red card. Should have been 10, the number of chances we missed.
Not much else to say about it,_____________________________

29th January 2020 at 8:31 pm #64387AnonymousThat was definitely not a booking for Noble. Seriously like… he won the ball and Origi hammed up a little contact. I’m not pleased to see this nonsense TBH.

I don’t understand this… is it not obvious that I am being exactly that? How on earth have you taken what I said seriously?
and Nine, you have liked his comment, so you also think I was serious?
Do you lads not see the irony here?
