Obviously the big game is Sunday, the 115 vs the filth, with the 115 needing the win to keep alive what already are very slim hopes of whatever it is in a row… and naturally, the filth need the win win to keep their slightly less slim hopes going…. the only winner here is Pool!!
Who, to be fair, have a very tricky game themselves, one I might even tune into…
Now, all I need to do is find an excuse not to turn the telly on during Sunday and watch us very probably take the lead and then chuck it all away with 5 to go… Micky looks like he is back, Dragon looks like he’s taking over Micky’s bed in the the treatment room, so another hodge-podge defence and misfiring (basically knackered) strikeforce… 3-1 to the Bee’s I think… have a feeling I’ll be spending more time cheering for those playing those below us!

31st January 2025 at 9:46 pm #217650Hello Chucks my Good Friend; just logged and the Title of the Thread is Perfect for my very thoughts of January.
Liverpool toughed out January and overall with the 8 games played, Grateful is more than the word I’d be looking for. I thought we may have lost against Forest and Brentford, players picking up injuries and you know the rest.
I’m led to believe compared to Jurgen, Arne has relaxed the Regime. I hope this really is True.
February laid out looks challenging so like January, just really gotta maintain grip and focus game by game.
You guys will find the net at Brentford, but I hope you will give them the respect they deserve as they really are a Credit to Top Flight.
Cheers
Just don’t let too many in π π

1st February 2025 at 9:53 am #217651We very probably will find the net, only problem being I’m sure they’ll find the net “more”… lost count of our injuries, going to “assume” out back for good be Porro on the right, Micky and Simon in the middle and Grey on the left…

1st February 2025 at 10:25 am #217652Just realised if Man City were to win tomorrow, they would only be 3 points behind the Gunners; would they be considered back into the Title Race?

1st February 2025 at 11:03 am #217653Just checked; Arsenal are injury-hit. Raya also struggling. City missing Doku. Think Grealish’s days are numbered if Pep now starts to use his new signing Marmouche.

1st February 2025 at 1:00 pm #217654Surely one of the teams of the year. Nuno seemingly is a fit for Forest. Playing good counter-attacking football.

1st February 2025 at 3:42 pm #217656Surely this has to just be a really bad angle and thereβs an angle where this looks like a pen?? Otherwise, thatβs a joke of a penalty decision for Liverpool

1st February 2025 at 4:04 pm #217658Yeah, Ed, get what you mean. I’ve had a look at the clip. If you pause on 0.01 it’s the Bournemouth guy’s left knee cap that catches Gakpo’s left leg at the back just about his calf.
Very faint contact from that angle so probably lucky to get that decision. Darren England Refereeing (same guy known for his Luis Diaz offside decision re Spurs last season).

1st February 2025 at 5:02 pm #217660Big Win. Gotta be delighted with that because who knows on another day, Bournemouth might have got the better of us with the amount of chances they created. Huge Credit to Alisson with his saves and keeping a clean sheet away from home.
I was thinking 2 points from Brentford and Bournemouth but we have 6. Everton game soon after our cup games plus Man City will still be our hardest.
Injury to Trent and players picking up yellows we need to be careful and this is where we then rely on our depth.
But taking it game by game. 12 wins from the Title, could be more, could be less.

1st February 2025 at 7:53 pm #217663I always believe in what goes round comes round and today luck was in our favour with decisions but huge credit as mentioned previously to Alisson who was our Hero.
If we add physics to this, these players are travelling at a speed so the slightest of infringements can upset momentum. I don’t believe Gakpo is the type of player to simulate.
Going back to what comes round goes around; we were not the only ones I see from the Forest game who had the ‘Firmino scenario’. Wellbeck today, ‘copycat’. Goal-line Tech, but you’d be aggrieved as a Striker when one minor part of a Football shows in graphic on white markings and therefore not the whole ball crossing the line.

1st February 2025 at 8:11 pm #217665It always amazes me when fotballers get a free pass when it comes to “falling over with the merest of touches”… as somebody who’s played both ice-hockey and rugby over the years, a game where you are actually allowed to knock people onto their Arsenal’s, if we all “went down” that easy we would be laughed at by our own teams mates…
How that peno wasn’t overturned I’ll never know…

1st February 2025 at 8:45 pm #217666I can only assume thereβs an angle of it that the ref must have seen Sean. If VAR have seen that same angle and not overturned it, itβs a travesty. Whatβs the point if VAR if it canβt spot a mistake that obvious (assuming it was indeed a wrong call)

1st February 2025 at 9:00 pm #217668I’ve not seen an angle which would make me think it was a peno… no contact whatsoever…

1st February 2025 at 9:02 pm #217669I wonder how much of this might be done to the VAR thing last year against the Spuds… wasn’t the same guy involved or something? And obviously sounds like he didn’t have the balls to do his job properly in case he upset the Micky Mousers… π
