15th February 2023 at 10:19 pm #204379Very disappointing result for Chelsea who played well.
Arsenal creaking over the last few games and they have to go to the Etihad yet still very close but you wouldn’t bet against City currently. Shame to miss it.

16th February 2023 at 7:31 am #204381Gents, had to move house. Sick of the constant Potter bashing over the other place. The last straw the video with that mouthy Lewis/Louis swearing like a trooper on a video I unfortunately were listening to with my grandson and his mother in the room. Enough is enough. Half the side new, two key wingbacks feeling their way back to match day fitness and we weren’t too bad at all. Should have scored 2 or 3 (Felix surprisingly missed 2 in 10 minutes late 1st half) and had them on toast for large parts of the 2nd half. I’m over the constant negativity over there. Wise Fan has been surprisingly POSITIVE. I have a huge headache from it right now. Anyway I’m over this side of the fence now :))

16th February 2023 at 7:38 am #204383City were much better 2nd half when pep went back to his trusted formation.
It’s a huge opportunity missed for Arsenal this season as Chelsea, city, utd etc are going to be much stronger next season

16th February 2023 at 8:58 am #204385I get you 67 unfortunately most of the negativity is being driven by multiple posts on a daily basis from just one poster who is obsessed.
I’m amazed at Wise Fan if I didn’t know better I would think that someone else has taken over his account.😃

16th February 2023 at 9:06 am #204386Yeah nine, WF has been very balanced and fair as of late. Hopefully it’s because he notices we respect him and his posts when he fair and I enjoy reading his posts lately.

16th February 2023 at 9:08 am #204387Cheers 999. Prefer you leave the other site as is with my comment on there. I don’t want to be the catalyst for any issues on there. Just leave that be and I’ll post here for the time being and watch in for a while on Teamtalk. I tell you now that this squad we have will give us plenty of joy moving forward. They just need a bit of time and the goals and better results will come. They played well yesterday away from home to a pretty handy opponent. Things ARE improving. Just need the tide to turn with goals. Surely Southampton at Home should be a pretty good starting point to boost confidence.

16th February 2023 at 11:15 am #204394What an incredible job Michael Carrick has done since taking over a struggling Boro side. Winning 3-1 away at Sheff Utd yesterday

16th February 2023 at 12:53 pm #204397GJ Blues – When fully fit he is one of the first on the team sheet – played almost every week before the WC
In the 4 games before the world cup he played 90, 26, 13 and 28 mins. Something is not right with him and Pep you can tell. Just does not trust him at the moment.

16th February 2023 at 2:13 pm #204399It’s actually been refreshing in the game seeing how the squad has been utilized by Pep creating alternative formations and not afraid to experiment with them at all.
I believe in vital as far as bouncing back goes for the Gunners as quick as possible, the lunch-time game is an opportunity to get back to winning ways. This is before Man City play at 3pm. And of course, there is that game in hand, so it’s important they dust themselves down and not dwell too much on last night.

17th February 2023 at 8:03 am #204409Hey Nil hope you are well buddy. I think Arsenal are doing what they do better than any other club. Crashing and burning into the new year. I predicted they would over a month ago. They are struggling and will find it difficult to turn it all around. By the time they do City will be on top of the table and from there unstoppable. Leicester away on Sunday 26 February will be difficult for Arsenal on the current form of Leicester.

17th February 2023 at 8:23 am #204412C67, great to see you back on here mate, and hope you post regular.
Yeah, probably in slight disagreement with you mate on the Gunners. I still see it as a bit of a blip, but I could be wrong and possible there’s an underlying sign of weakness that’s surfacing; possibly more towards mental strength and experience of handling this type of dynamic of being involved in a race.
They’ve come leaps and bounds massively so that’s huge praise in itself. Man City have players well established and majority have been multiple title and trophy winners and Pep has been with them for a good 6 years.
The fixtures do look tricky for Arsenal and they could do really with Jesus coming back just to give them a boost and a lift in attack.

19th February 2023 at 7:31 am #204563Since my post they have shown plenty of backbone and come back from 2-1 down v Villa for a vital win and City dropping points at Forest which was a huge surprise so yes, it’s going to be an interesting run in it appears. You are probably right that this Arsenal is made of sterner stuff than some of their sides in years past (apart from the invincibles of course).

19th February 2023 at 9:52 am #204567C67, I posted on the match thread this week on the point of characters. That’s what struck me. I don’t think personally a great deal of fuss so far has been made (not to my attention and knowledge) about the type of signings that can reignite and make something happen; i.e. Zinchenko. Jorginho too.
Can’t really say much about Chelsea mate albeit you need players to recover and return to full fitness. I thought Liverpool were really bad. This is unfortunately a write off. Whether you stick with Potter in the summer, time will tell.
Maybe it’ll take time, but I’m sure somewhere down the line, you’ll start to pick up wins.

19th February 2023 at 11:22 am #204569Southampton at home to me was three points in the bank but I was expecting Silva and James to back up seeing we have no mid week match coming up. I would have thought Potter would have taken no risks with selection but he thought otherwise. Changing half a side, sending players out there that are barely familiar with each other in one of the best leagues in the world is asking for trouble.

19th February 2023 at 11:37 am #204572Yeah. I think the challenge is now formulating a starting 11 and gelling these individuals so that they are familiar with each other. That will encourage a settled group and players being able to establish themselves. Guaranteed C67, this will happen at some point after weathering the storm.

19th February 2023 at 11:40 am #204573The sad thing is the impatience of the supporters pointing the finger at Potter when Boehly and co understand what is required. Arsenal were the same under Arteta for a few seasons and look at them now. Patience is the key. Nice chatting nil. It’s been a while 🙂
