Our fans are quick enough to forget were we were before Klopp came in. 3 cl finals and 3 90 point finishes in 5 years. Be very careful what you wish for
I want see Klopp still here next summer even if we finish 17th

4th February 2023 at 3:58 pm #203697I have read but it was only someone’s opinion that Klopp is slowly handing over responsibilities to other staff members as he winds down to retirement. Training to Ljinders, recruitment to the scouting team etc. You know he has always said he will stop when his wife tells him the stress is too much maybe this was a compromise for extending his contract. This isn’t a Klopp team anymore, he needs to take back control.

4th February 2023 at 4:01 pm #203698Threeps. I think you might be right. He’s always so stressed shouting at everyone. Bit of calm needed and forget the 4th official

4th February 2023 at 4:04 pm #203699That sounds reasonable threeps.
He done wonders even getting one title vs pep and city and so close to more. Last season must have been exhausting even for you as fans going the distance in every comp, can only imagine how exhausting it would have been for klopp and his old guard of players.
For me it should be a case of letting klopp decide if he still wants it and if he really does then he should be backed. He may leave but if he does it probably should and will be of his own choice.

4th February 2023 at 4:07 pm #203701Sean, do you think it’s realistic we can maintain this path and form until May? And what’s going to change in the summer with transfers with no CL? If Klopp is having more influence on signings then as I said, that’s only adding the pressure on to him what with big bucks recently spent on Gakpo and Nunez. It just looks to me like the party’s over because all the while the pressure only adds to him and inevitably relationships with some players will get fraught and we can’t just change the players and keep the manager. That’s not how clubs operate.

4th February 2023 at 4:25 pm #203702Utd attracted players with cl football and I believe we can aswell. I remember people writing City off after finishing 2nd one season!
If heβs not supported in the summer he should walk. Iβm hoping vvd, Bobby, jota and Diaz coming back might improve us until the end of the summer
So who do you want to replace Klopp?I think he fully deserves a lot more time after what heβs achieved. Very disappointing fans turning on the manager after a bad spell

4th February 2023 at 4:33 pm #203704Sean. Fans are fickle. Klopp needs a rethink for the second half of the season. Nothing that a couple of wins won’t put right.
I said this before,,,some teams have been affected more than others by the World Cup. We haven’t been great either._____________________________

4th February 2023 at 4:37 pm #203707Iβve defended nunez but he had to score there. Terrible finishing. Ill support the manager and players who brought us the best times in decades. Itβs so bad my fear is the owners will sack Klopp. If he walks then itβs embarrassing for him as itβs proves his teams only have a 7 year life span.
We need to rebuild etc and I hope Klopp is supported and our fans stick with him. Iβve absolutely no doubt the anfield crowd will.

4th February 2023 at 4:38 pm #203708Sean – Klopp isn’t a victim here. He keeps insisting on a broken formation that doesn’t work anymore. He needs to take the lions share for how we’re playing at the minute, as its the whole squad turning out, being dire, game after game. At what point do you start holding him accountable? Fans are rightly pissed off with what’s being served up.

4th February 2023 at 4:46 pm #203710I’m not so much turning on the manager Sean, I just think the relationship has perhaps now run its course. Also, the fans are spending large amounts to watch these performances. Even they will start getting fed up. If what Threeps said is true, is Klopp going to want to pick up the reigns again of other departments if he was hoping to wind down a bit? Add to that I don’t think this team can be put right in one season now. I think you’re looking at another 2/3 years. That’s another big job.
I also never liked the Salah contract situation last year. I just got the impression the club bent towards him which a club should never do. Just reminded me a bit of the Rooney Man Utd situation which I thought was similar. And then they go and blow all that money on Nunez. Imo, it was all the sign of a club in decline.

4th February 2023 at 4:58 pm #203712Harry, no mate. Certainly Klopp is not blameless. Bizarre subs etc. having a tactical nightmare but I believe he can turn it around with a few new players and players returning from injury. We have got worse at the back without vvd
Matip and Gomez are a shambles at the minute
But whatβs decline mikuis? Decline to me is finishing 7th every season and going absolutely no were. Getting ripped off by gillet etc and nearly going into administration. Roy hodgson etc. those were worrying times. We were told we were in decline in 2021 losing 6 home games in a row then finished one point off winning the league the following season.Itβs one season. Ok if this continues into next ten matches next season then yes Iβd be concerned

4th February 2023 at 5:02 pm #203714What makes you think things will turnaround in the next 10 games Sean? We thought we’d turned around in the Wolves FA Cup game. That didn’t last very long.

4th February 2023 at 5:15 pm #203715Iβve said this season is a write off mikuis. Thatβs why I keep saying one bad season and Iβve said what I think we need to do in the summer
Maybe in next ten games we get vvd , Diaz, jota and bobby back and we might see a difference. As the current front 3 are fling nothing. Matip is absolutely dreadful and so is Gomez. Get konate back beside vvd.

4th February 2023 at 5:18 pm #203716Nothing about whether the red card call was correct Adlab?! π. I’ve never known a rival team’s fan be so engrossed in decisions in Utd games π. For the record, that’s the second pen we’ve had in the league all season, less than all our rivals. We’ve been due a pen for weeks.
In fairness Casemiro deserved his red but a Palace player did exactly the same and got nothing.

4th February 2023 at 5:33 pm #203717There’s many opinions as to why things are so bad this season. It’s Klopps fault, it’s FSGs fault, it’s Mo Salahs contract fault, it’s an aging squad fault, its a crippling injury lists fault. Whilst these all might have an impact (not Mo’s contract mind!) my opinion is the biggest impact to a teams performance is what happens on the training pitch. You can point at individual performances or mistakes but ask why these are happening? If you concede good quality chances time and again as a defender you will start making more errors. If you are a striker operating on poor chances your confidence will be effected and your performance decline.
So I’m now firmly sticking my flag in the Klopp has given control to others as part of an agreement during his contract renewal as he winds down idea.
The way to fix it is Klopp to take back control, demote or even fire those doing the coaching and recruiting tactical misfits like Nunez and Gakpo. Get back to the high intensity, chocking of the opposition and lightning quick counters. At the end of the season remove those that are tactically not suited to a Klopp team, Thiago and Matip for wxample. Find a role in such a team for the likes of Carvalho and Elliot or move them on despite how high their ceiling might be. Get back the Klopp identity on the team.
The question is if Klopp has it in him to do so? Stress and his and his family welfare are closely connected. If he hasn’t got it in him to build again in his own image then maybe it is time to find someone who will. Just not Pep Ljinders!

4th February 2023 at 5:47 pm #203718Sean, I think where we’ll agree is Klopp has been let down by the current recruitment team which has added this pressure on to him. However, over last summer he insisted we didn’t need another midfielder, before later admitting he was wrong. Now OK, weve also been poor at the back, but also remember it was the chemistry of that original front 3 that really gave us a fear factor up top and kept opposing teams back. But weve lost that and not replaced it well enough and Klopp seems to have struggled to find another way of playing. And the problem for Klopp is that the role of a manager is to get the best out of what he has. Whether completely fair or not, he isnβt currently doing that with the way we are losing games. And even with a few players returning, not sure I see us improving that much.
