15th January 2022 at 8:01 pm #193534Ye Ed, matic was wrecked and so were most of utd team. Thatβs the hardest Iβve seen them work in a longtime and they did tire. Elanga did a great job on cash and cash git much more room when he went off
Great game

15th January 2022 at 8:09 pm #193536I was impressed by Elanga Sean. Rangnick likes young, energetic players so I think we’ll be seeing more of him. A lot more work to do but better today, for sure.

15th January 2022 at 8:10 pm #193537Rafa was always a ridiculous appointment by Everton the fans never wanted him and the owner ignored them. The atmosphere towards Rafa today was described as toxic from the Everton fans with the fans holding up “Get out of our Club banners”.

15th January 2022 at 9:03 pm #193539As soon as you get to the magic 18 wins at a more earlier part of the season with still a handful of games to play and only 2 draws and 2 defeats to your name, very safe to presume title to Manchester City.
We had to be on it like a car bonnet 19/20 after that Hellraiser of 97 points being runners up in 18/19.
I fully accept jealousy has been perceived on as it comes with territory and I have myself in life exhibited that (not a road to go down to, but we’re human).
For me in personal thought; I wanted Liverpool to win a Title years ago and not having to wait 30 years and win it in a Pandemic. I wanted it in the 90s or early 00s. I’d be happy with a couple and I’d be Ultra Easygoing week in week out but for all the FA and the Carabao Cups π π

15th January 2022 at 9:05 pm #193540Great match to watch (more for the neutral I suppose). That’s what you get when both teams play to win, unlike the City v Chelsea game earlier.
United with far more energy than I’ve seen for some time. This ultimately led to them losing two of the three points, as they tired badly in the last 20 minutes. Still, it’s something for Rangwick to work on. A draw a fair result in the end – this Villa side are sure high on quality in their front six but lacking something in defence.
De Gea again saved United on a number of occasions – he’s the best shot stopping ‘keeper in world football. Where would they be without him this season?_____________________________

15th January 2022 at 9:09 pm #193541Don’t disagree with a word of that gj. De Gea looked completely gone a year or so ago but has really regained form and is almost back to his best.

15th January 2022 at 9:11 pm #193542The next Everton manager might not do that much better given the poor signings made over the years, but if he is simply able to get the team up for the fight, that will lift things and give off the impression things are changing. But they need to obviously also get the recruitment right. Another case I think of a club thinking that throwing money around will be enough. No patience anymore. All got to be now, now, now. Hence the profligacy.

15th January 2022 at 9:20 pm #193544Ed, if Rangwick gets him working on his distribution, he could well become the best ‘keeper in the world, overall.

15th January 2022 at 9:22 pm #193545Mikus, interestingly Rooney is favourite followed by big Dunc. I wouldn’t bet against big Dunc being given it again short term. He did a good job last time. Maybe Rooney in the summer then if he does the unthinkable and keeps Derby up. I don’t think he’d leave them mid season. Lampard also among the favourites.

15th January 2022 at 9:24 pm #193546I’m not sure gj. I don’t think he’ll ever be good enough with his feet to be among the very best in the modern game. Still young in keeper terms though at 31.

15th January 2022 at 9:53 pm #193548Doesn’t surprise me Ed. After Rafa, they’ll probably be a reaction to get a home boy in and help lift things, get the team up for the fight etc. You see this often at clubs after big name failures. Get the ex player back in and get some passion back. The usual modern day cycle.

15th January 2022 at 9:56 pm #193549Is de gea only 31 wowβ¦
Much better all round tonight Ed. Team worked very hard. They did the basics well but ran out of steam. Very enjoyable game.
Was saying last week Ramsey was an exciting player. Another excellent young English player breaking through
The amount of local top class English players breaking through for their clubs is unreal. Best bunch of young English players for a long time

15th January 2022 at 10:38 pm #193551Can’t quite understand how Tuchel kept Zeyich on until the 70th minute when he had all that talent on the bench

15th January 2022 at 11:22 pm #193552Ziyech, is new and needs support. Lukaku needed a proper link up player to provide service. He couldn’t do it alone. Havertz really should have started in my view. In fairness only one goal in it, but can’t hide my disappointment and frustration.

16th January 2022 at 7:04 am #193553If Harvetz and Mount started the game we could have gotten a bit more out upfront, Ziyech and Werner for me need to be moved on, they haven’t lived up to anywhere near their perceived ability. Pulisic and Lukaku I would give more time as on their day they can be more than useful. Alonso is almost certainly gone end of season. Had a horror yesterday.
