Another set of teams I can’t figure out; Wolves and Palace.

2nd January 2019 at 10:01 pm #30705It’s a tough place to Ed so a very good 3 points and will build more confidence.
Only 6 points off 4th now with Chelsea dropping points so all to play for 4

2nd January 2019 at 10:04 pm #30707AnonymousGood win despite a shocking performance from the ref. And we have some on here who still claim the FA are in Utd’s pocket! ???
What did Emery get? A small fine compared to a touch line ban for Jose? It would’ve so bad if those complaining had an ounce of objectivity in them.

2nd January 2019 at 10:05 pm #30708AnonymousThe points Ole has made up has been fantastic. Yes, the opposition haven’t been great – but they are the teams we have struggled against.

2nd January 2019 at 10:27 pm #30710Good win for United especially with Chelsea dropping points v Southampton. If Chelsea don’t solve their scoring problems in January and there is more than one way to do that I think there’s every chance they will miss out on the top 4.

2nd January 2019 at 10:41 pm #30712Not too bad Alfie, thanks. Hope you’re well mate.
Never wanted the threat of United against us, but always thought Rui Faria and Jose were just bad for your club mate, with the exception of the Trophies won.
I like Mike Phelan to support Ole in the Front line. Early days.

3rd January 2019 at 1:41 am #30713AnonymousI honestly don’t understand why Chelsea are doing so poorly. They played us and City off the park for large spells. Some signings needed.. but still.
As for Shelvey, I was thinking definite straight red but then I saw it was on Pogba 😀

3rd January 2019 at 7:01 am #30714Will miss the big game and aftermath as I’ll be in an area of no service till Friday so here’s hoping I’ll come back to a great win & a lot of confidence. Can’t wait to see the replay as it’ll be an interesting tactical battle regardless. Up the Reds.

3rd January 2019 at 8:11 am #30715Alfie, it’s all about getting results and building confidence and four results will do that so he’s done a fine job. Much slicker and quicker football from what I saw.
As nine had said Chelsea need a striker. I was really impressed by Chelsea earlier in the season and they will only improve under sari but will he be given time if they don’t get top 4?

3rd January 2019 at 8:51 am #30716Mak, Chelsea aren’t the finished article offensively and we’re struggling to score two goals from open play in the last 4 PL games plus losing Willian and having Giroud, Pedro and Hudson Odoi all injured isn’t helping. Sarri suggested last night that he wants to make an offensive signing in January and the Club know his thoughts but getting the right player in in January as we know is not an easy task. If we don’t solve the offensive problem I think we might struggle to make the CL places.

3rd January 2019 at 9:00 am #30717AnonymousGot to feel for Hudson-Odoi, came through this season and did ok but was replaced by Pulisic at the earliest opportunity.

3rd January 2019 at 9:26 am #30718Anonymous999 making out Chelsea are struggling because Hudson-Odoi is out injured. All 42 minutes of league football he’s played all season have really made the difference. Academy players have no chance at Chelsea. They never have, they never will.

3rd January 2019 at 9:54 am #30719I think Hudson will be some once Munich up their offer
Chelsea need a striker. You can see what sari is trying to do and needs time but I’m not sure he will get it at Chelsea if they finish outside the top 4. They are a very good team but I think it’s between them and utd for 4th
Utd look much better and there’s a huge change at the club now after 4 wins
Aresnal will fade and they just can’t defend
Spurs get stronger as the season goes on and stats show they pick up more points
They have really been hit hard by injuries. I didn’t realize they had so many central midfielders out.

3rd January 2019 at 10:25 am #30720It’s always nice to see academy players coming through. City and Chelsea have probably been the two sides who have been the worst at it out of the top sides over the last decade or so and are arguably continuing in the same vein (Sancho gone, Diaz going, Hudson-Odoi going?). Funnily enough, they’ve also been the most successful clubs over that time so it’s hard to argue with their policies.

3rd January 2019 at 10:49 am #30722Wasplicker-Chelsea are far too much reliant on Hazard producing every week, otherwise they are struggling big time.Motata,Giroud and Pedro dont score enough,Willian,Jorginho and Kovacic dont create enough,so they solely depend on Hazard doing it all by himself.Arse can easy get that 4th place, imho.

3rd January 2019 at 11:02 am #30723Anonymoused – in the current climate of english football, big teams dont have a chance to bring youth players through as winning is so important. chelsea haven’t brought through an academy player to play regularly since john terry which i think is quite disappointing, however their fans will look at their trophy haul the last 15 years and probably will be quite happy. i’m sure they would prefer if they had involvement from academy players but trophies are the priority and both city and chelsea win them.
