6th January 2022 at 1:29 pm #192991A City statement read: ‘The City manager recorded a positive test on Tuesday along with assistant Juanma Lillo. Both are now isolating, along with a number of other positive cases within the City first team bubble.
‘This brings the number of those isolating for Covid related reasons amongst the group to 21. Of that number, 14 are backroom staff with seven first team players.
‘Assistant coach Rodolfo Borrell will take charge of the team for the trip to Swindon.’
And my guess is there are bound to be more. Very similar ro Liverpool. The ONLY upside is that there is no Premier league match this weekend. But whichever team it is any competition must be devalued. Let’s hope all concerned whichever team have only mild symptoms. It shows how virulent this strain is. Speaking to local medics the spread is predominantly coming from the kids.

6th January 2022 at 1:45 pm #192994Shame for Swindon their fans would have been excited to see Pep with a full squad to choose from at the County Ground tomorrow night.

6th January 2022 at 1:47 pm #192995What is surprising is that some clubs appear totally unaffected.

6th January 2022 at 1:49 pm #192996Nine. It will be the EDS plus some first team players who might be available. Gives Swindon a chance that they might otherwise not have had.

6th January 2022 at 2:15 pm #192997Yeah Adlab I expect similar from Chelsea v Chesterfield we’re down to bare bones defensively and couldn’t field 3 CB’s last night which forced a tactical change to 4/4/2 and we lost both Kante and Thiago Silva to Covid yesterday.

6th January 2022 at 2:31 pm #193000AnonymousAdlab, 21 is an an awful lot. Im not sure why the backroom staff seem to be getting it even more than the players. That’s interesting.
It is only Swindon and a team like City could probably field a team, unless all their keepers catch it like us. They still need at least a good coach to make decisions on the bench though. Even if they have the squad to field a team…

6th January 2022 at 2:58 pm #193003Inter Milan’s game at Bologna on Thursday did not go ahead amid farcical scenes at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
Rising Covid-19 cases in the Bologna squad meant the local health authority (ASL) placed the team into quarantine for seven to 10 days from Wednesday.
But with Serie A refusing to cancel matches, Inter were forced to turn up and train before the game, as normal.
Officials even inspected the pitch and tested the goal-line technology, despite there being no Bologna players.
Inter director Beppe Marotta said the system is not working.
“The situation is chaotic,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. “Games have been postponed by local health authorities who decided independently.
“Bologna were ready to play and they suffered the situation from ASL which have taken this decision to protect everyone’s health, but clarity is missing. I would limit the ASL’s power otherwise, we’ll always face similar situations in the future.
How long before we get this here!

6th January 2022 at 4:40 pm #193011One fan jibed: “You can add ‘getting covid’ to the list of things City are better than Liverpool at.”
And even a Chelsea supporter added: “City behaving like a proper club & getting games played meanwhile Liverpool getting favourable treatment from EPL and EFL for their “outbreak” Imagine being afraid to play Arsenal…could never be my club.”
Liverpool closed their training ground on Tuesday after Jurgen Klopp’s right hand man, Pep Lijnders, joined him in isolating.

All clubs have had games called off. We have no keepers or management
City are the only club who can deal with covid as they can field two top teams cause they are rich
