The problem with Money City (if you’re not a Money City fan!) is any player who goes there is guaranteed trophies every year, simply a question of how many and which ones, and is unlikely to find themselves run into the ground as Pepe is pretty decent at rotating his squad… can’t be Arsenaled to google it, but I reckon the minutes played for their best 18/20 players is a lot more even than most other squads… it’s great for the players.. longer careers due to lack of injuries, which also equal bigger bank accounts and bigger trophy hauls… it’s all a win/win/win for Money City players and fans!!
It’s getting more and more like Germany, where you have Bayrn Munich and then the rest, hoping that Bayrn slip up… even that other financially doped club in West London are struggling to keep up with City!

30th December 2021 at 4:07 pm #192432European champions Chelsea have announced losses of Β£145.6m after tax for the year to 30 June 2021.
The Premier League club won last season’s Champions League under Thomas Tuchel.
Their turnover went up from Β£387.8m to Β£416.8m thanks to an increase in broadcasting revenue.
But the club say playing games with no crowds because of Covid-19 and a reduction in profit on player sales were the main reasons for the loss.
Chelsea FC PLC continues to be supported financially by Fordstam Limited, a company owned by Roman Abramovich – with confirmation in the accounts that the club owes more than Β£1bn to “related companies”.
The accounts also say that “the company is reliant on Fordstam Limited for its continued financial support”. It says Fordstam has indicated support will continue “for the foreseeable future”.
The club adds that under a “severe but plausible downside scenario of football being played behind closed doors in December 2021 and January 2022” it would be reliant on additional funding from Chelsea FC PLC, with further funds needed if the financial impact of Covid-19 were even more severe.
Premier League and EFL clubs recently chose to fulfil festive fixtures despite ongoing Covid-19 disruption, including a series of postponements and a record 103 Premier League players and staff testing positive for Covid in the seven days up to and including 26 December.
Chelsea’s accounts also say there is Β£24.1m owed due to unspecified “ongoing legal matters” – while the club also decided an “impairment loss” of Β£17.9m was necessary against the value of its squad.
The club say since 30 June they have signed three players for a total of Β£109.7m – striker Romelu Lukaku, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli and midfielder Saul Niguez, on loan from Atletico Madrid.
In the same period they say they have sold 13 players for a combined Β£103.7m. They could also receive up to Β£16.4m if outstanding clauses in previous transfers are all met.

30th December 2021 at 4:53 pm #192434Adders… it hasn’t snowed “a lot”, but as it’s been between -5 and -20 for about 6 weeks now, nothing is melting and the poor buggers are just moving it around in circles… all the slopes are open if you’re into that, along with all the ice-rinks… thermals are being worn and are starting to look a bit like Buffy’s pants!!
As for COVID, they (we.. whatever), are seemingly a bit more stricter that Blighty, COVID passes for resturant/bars that sort of thing, everybody is wearing masks and lining up all polite for number 3 (got mine the week before Christmas). I think yesterday’s total was about 2,500… out of 5.5m so, by UK standards, about 25,000 from 55 million… but the Finn’s have always been a bit “pre-emptive” about things since this whole bullocks started. Learning from others mistakes and all that.

30th December 2021 at 8:46 pm #192435Utd 2 up.
Burnley keep missing chances.
Can’t be bothered with this. Two poor teams. Maguire is really struggling. Against a decent team Utd would be behind._____________________________

30th December 2021 at 9:10 pm #192436Lukaku quotes are baffling to say the least. Β£100mil they paid for you Rom, show a bit of respect for the team you play for! I’ve been saying for a while I think Haaland was first choice for Chelsea in the summer and I think they’re best placed to get him next summer. They’ll take a hit on Lukaku but it’d be worth it if you can get Haaland for a knock-down fee.
Romelu Lukaku to @SkySport: "Physically I am fine. But I'm NOT happy with the situation at Chelsea. Tuchel has chosen to play with another system – I won't give up, I'll be professional. I am not happy with the situation but I am professional – and I can't give up now". π΅ #CFC pic.twitter.com/KGNoJ10cwp

Romelu Lukaku to Sky Sport: "Now it's the right time to share my feelings. I have always said that I have Inter in my heart: I know I will RETURN to Inter, I really hope so. I am in love with Italy, this is right moment to talk and let people know what really happened". π΅ #CFC pic.twitter.com/Gnn6ulWHlG

31st December 2021 at 7:54 am #192440I’m less concerned with these comments than I was Ed given they came from Sky Italia over three weeks ago. The medical staff at Chelsea weren’t giving Lukaku clearance to play and he thought he should be playing and he is now and he’s scoring goals too. Bit of frustration?
As for Haaland love to see him at Chelsea and the fee next Summer will be a bit more reasonable but that will just provide more suitors for him. I can see him at City of Real Madrid if he goes.

31st December 2021 at 8:42 am #192444On this occasion Chucky, I’m quite glad he doesn’t dream of coming (back) to Utd. He’s a liability when things don’t go his way. He started acting like this when his weight and form went the wrong way at Utd. It’s very disrespectful of him to talk about his desire to return to Inter in my opinion.
Nine, I think you’re giving him a vit of an easy ride to be honest. He’s your record signing and massively sticking two fingers up at your club.

31st December 2021 at 8:58 am #192446Are you still trying to convince us it didn’t bother you AT ALL (π€¬) that Poch wanted Utd and Kane wanted City? π
So, no, obviously not every player and manager dreams of going to Utd. Kane was very much wanting City but wasn’t allowed to leave.

31st December 2021 at 9:10 am #192447He never actually said that… actaully, niether of them ever said that… just you lot reading between the lines on the cyber fish-wrappings… and for whether it bothered me, it’s only football at the end of the day, I do have other far more important things to worry about (like, right now, where to go for lunch!)
But Romelu actually said it… π

31st December 2021 at 9:18 am #192448Tuchel is not happy about it anyway
Tuchel on Romelu Lukaku sentences: "Let's be honest – I don't like it because it brings noise we don't need. It's easy to take lines out of context – of course I don't like it, it's noise we don't need and it does not help". π΅ #CFC pic.twitter.com/BW2sPGHg1n

Jorge Mendes: βCristiano Ronaldo is very happy at Man United. Heβs gonna continue with his solid, great performances as always in his career. Itβs gonna be a great season for him, Iβm sureβ, he told Sky Sport. π΄ #MUFC pic.twitter.com/qDs8wWQuAt
