Games coming thick and fast, with a couple of 6 pointers at the top end of the table to look forward to this weekend.
Can the Goonies continue this good run of form? Can LiVARberoOol find their shooting boots? Will Chelski set themselves up for the draw and play on the counter? Can MoneyCity just bugger off now? 4 titles in 5 years along with all the other pots makes up for “all deserved because we had an away game against Gillingham in 1982 and that’s jolly not fair”… π
You’ve filled your boots so now take your check book and do one!! π π

29th December 2021 at 11:45 am #192359Chelsea have too many players out still, maybe a draw or a narrow win for either side, play City and Spurs next, thats not fair

29th December 2021 at 2:19 pm #192378I’ll be glad to get this NY weekend out of the way so we can take away from the Prem and switch over to the FA Cup.

30th December 2021 at 6:05 am #192407The table (apart from 1st place!) could look very interesting by week 23/24, a lot of “6 pointers” at the top end, the AFCON stripping a few teams of a few players, all the “weakened” squads due to COVID, and a couple of teams seemingly having a bit of a “mini” wobble… and then we chuck in the transfer window…
Title race is over (if MoneyBags lose this now, it would be the ultimate Spurzzy I reckon!), but the race for CL spots at one end, and escaping the danger zone could be very entertaining for sure!

30th December 2021 at 6:20 am #192408Well there’s little doubt City will win the league, Liverpool will end up 2nd, the rest who knows !

30th December 2021 at 8:49 am #192409Reckon 2nd place is pretty open too, AFCON is going to hurt LiVARberoOol for sure with two of their best players disappearing for a bit… and Chelski aren’t quite the machine they were earlier this season… a bad run from either team will put them right back in the pack for the CL spots…

30th December 2021 at 9:09 am #192410Brighton are a decent side. They are brave when they go away to the big teams
Very good team who are good to watch.
Always disappointing to lose a last min goal but tuchel and Klopp have to stop moaning
These fixtures are here decades. Klopp Noahβs about two games in two days and Liverpool had a break and beaten by Leicesterβ¦ how ironic
I totally get what they are saying but give it a rest now. It is what it is

30th December 2021 at 9:16 am #192411I’m with Waspy and Neville Neville’s eldest Neville, the English schedule has been known for years (regardless of it being right or wrong!), and even with half a dozen players out, every Prem team can field a starting 11 of professional footballers… complaining about playing the “youngsters” (which they do in the cups anyway until it gets a bit interesting) is just making them ALL look foolish.

30th December 2021 at 10:03 am #192412Personally I do not believe Chelsea have decent depth despite what the so called experts and pundits say. Dropping points at home to all bottom half teams is inexcusable, now the real tests are only starting with games against Liverpool, City, Spurs 3 times and United and Arsenal, if I was Tuchel I would be real worried. I don’t know if Roman will accept all the excuses even though they are true. A top 4 finish is going to be extremely difficult and will probably go down to the wire with all the regular top clubs involved barring City and Liverpool who will probably end up 1st and 2nd.

30th December 2021 at 11:16 am #192415Biggest mistake is signing that ilk of a player who’s got commitments unless you have reinforcements in place.

30th December 2021 at 11:45 am #192417I think your going overboard about Chelsea rover mate. Itβs a very good squad but the problem is players are not playing to their full potential and injuries/covid are killing teams except city who nearly have a two top class players for each position.
You have to realise , Liverpool and Chelsea and others are trying compete with city. Itβs nearly an impossible task. They have the best manager, best players, most funds etc.
They have won the league 4 out of the last 5 times I think.
Liverpool would not be were they are without Klopp and as mak says, we are screwed when he goes. Tuchel is doing a fine job. In this day and age you can hardly draw a game never mind lose it if you are trying to compete with city

30th December 2021 at 1:04 pm #192421No doubt money has helped City, but where Pep has mastered things is in his creation of a very robust team where everyone, midfielders & attackers contribute equally to goals & assists and they also have many interchangeable options that can come in seamlessly and still deliver. That’s why City have been so successful. Liverpool & Chelsea just don’t really have that.

30th December 2021 at 1:38 pm #192423Mikus. I agree. City’s strength is the squad and not one or two individuals. Take De Bruyne and Diaz out of City, they wouldn’t be as good but they would cope with Stones, Laporte, Foden, Gundogan etc. Take VVD and Salah out of Liverpool?
Pep is more concerned about the team which for him is the squad rather than individuals. His approach has always been that there is a way of playing and players have to fit. That is why it is taking Grealish time to fit in. But when he does…._____________________________

30th December 2021 at 1:42 pm #192426Indeed Adlab. Also look at Bernardo Silva. Rumoured to be unhappy at the start of the season and apparently wanting out. Heβs now probably having his best season. Some Liverpool fans were saying how no other attacker would want to come to Liverpool to sit on the bench. But it would drive competition. And this is what drives the team forward.
