As they say you can never in the epl Bournemouth score in the last minute. Hold on its a handball so no goal.

25th August 2024 at 3:55 pm #215399The huge kick in the nuts was taking out Palmer; and today he’s had 3 assists and a goal to his name!!!

25th August 2024 at 4:49 pm #215400That was well worked between Jota and Diaz on the counter. Great Start π

25th August 2024 at 5:25 pm #215401Counter suits us better. Apart from Diaz, the wide play from Salah could be better, plus more creativity from our midfield which we still lack with a combination of Gravenberch, Zobo and Mac Allister.

26th August 2024 at 7:44 am #215402Two ckeans sheets is pleasing. Now lets see if we have the balls to go to old tarford and not fold like we did twice last season. Two great finishes
Jota should have been sent off. It was a clear swing of the elbow. How joelinton was sent off either is bizarre. Swings out of the keepers neck.

26th August 2024 at 9:26 am #215404All one way traffic at White Hart Lane, but unlike the Foxy Ladies, we had our shooting boots on and although Toffeemen had a few chances, they were never really at the races… going to be a long hard season for them and every six-pointer for them is probably worth 8 if they get any points deductions this year.

26th August 2024 at 11:46 am #215406So the ref in the Ipswich Vs Manchester City gives City a penalty, but doesn’t give Ipswich a penalty for the exact same challenge.
Remember when Onana should have conceded a pen last season against Wolves and it was spoken about for weeks. United struggled to get another penalty after.
Wonder how much clubs pay for PR.

26th August 2024 at 11:58 am #215408I predicted Chelsea and Liverpool would get off to fliers with the new manager bounce and they’ve done exactly that. Those two will be impossible to judge properly until at least after Christmas I reckon. This time last season, Spurs had already won the league remember?! π.
As for us, I think Ten Hag will be gone before Christmas with Ruud stepping in. Not convinced there’s enough of a change since last season but I hope I’m wrong.

26th August 2024 at 12:14 pm #215409Come on Sweddy, it was about game 9 when we thought we won the league… and then the Jammy Todgers showed up, playing one of their 2 cup finals for last season… π

26th August 2024 at 2:25 pm #215415Old Trafford will be tough Sean, and I’m not just saying that; I mean it.
They have a hold over us from the Cup and League, last season. With Slot being on a positive wave, hopefully we can bounce back from what happened last season.
Not impressed with Trent’s attitude and sulking behaviour. Slot doesn’t need this. Last game before International Duty.

27th August 2024 at 11:02 am #215418Ed,
I have nit seen anyone give Chelsea any chance this season, and they may well be right or wrong. While the result on Sunday was encouraging, there is plenty to work for Maresca, especially the defence. But attacking wise, we are in good shape, and if we get the opportunity to add Victor Osimhen to our attack, then we will score tones of goals. But the defensive set up is worrying, i felt every time teams attack us, they had a chance of scoring.
I donβt think, the new manager bounce has had any effect, last year we had a new manager, and we struggled. Let us see hiw far we go this season.

27th August 2024 at 11:47 am #215419Don’t believe in the ‘new manager bounce’ myself, at least not in the psychological effect way. If the forms picks up after a change to the top its usually due to better tactics or man management. It also only gets reported on the rare occasions form picks up, most of the time it doesn’t.
I think with Spurs last season it was a bit of surprise to see a team do attack minded with little regard to actual defending that it took until the Chelsea game and that incredibly naive high line before their short comings were exposed.
The main thing for me when a new manager comes in is is there a well thought out system and do the players get it? For Slot I’d say yes to both. Even with Klopp when he first came in you could see what he was trying to do he just needed the right personnel or get current players up to the right fitness level.

27th August 2024 at 12:20 pm #215421With all thatβs been said about Chelsea, they will still maintain a reasonable level because of all the attacking quality they still possess. Itβs the lack of cohesion Iβd be worried about that I think could limit their success because you need a core of players in a team that have been established in it for a while to build something. I mean the current captain Enzo Fernandez was only signed last year and heβs yet to really set Chelsea alight. So I think consistency is going to be a challenge for Chelsea for some time.

27th August 2024 at 1:00 pm #215422The Jammy Todgers are going to be consistantly inconsistant this year, we all larffed when Nil reckoned they’d score 3 away at Wolves, and they go and score 6… they’ll probably lose the next one, at home, now… and I don’t even know who they’re playing… π
They’ll outscore enough teams to finish top half of the table but that’s about it, I reckon.
