Just caught highlights of yesterdays game. Extremely annoyed and Jose has every right to be pissed off. I suppose his post match comments were aimed at Rashford.

You have 2 players through on goal in the 92nd minute, what does Rashford do. He slows down, does not pass just to keep the ball. United end up losing the ball and Leicester end up scoring.

24th December 2017 at 11:27 am #9769All the chasing pack have their issues. United and Chelsea do not score enough goals, Liverpool have defensive issues. Spurs have injury concerns. so these are the areas that teams have to focus to stay in touch with City next season. United and Chelsea, have to build a strike force since their defence isn’t that bad. Arsenal and Liverpool have to build their defence since their forward-line is good. Spurs need to buy more players to keep rotating. hoping that we put better fight next season.

24th December 2017 at 11:33 am #9774Chelsea man, the subject of Liverpool having defensive issues keep propping up, maybe rightly. But when an opposition team scores quick fire goals before you can even come to terms with a goal they’ve just scored, there’s only so much you can do, it’s anguish.
We need a Leader to get hold of the situation so we don’t capitulate, this is more alluded to the mentality of the players. How can we keep squandering 2 or 3 goal leads?
That’s what upsets a lot of us and we’re throwing away points that would excel us higher up the table.

24th December 2017 at 12:28 pm #9779I think Liverpool will score goals every time assuming that there is no catastrophic decisions or silly tackles which may lead to a red card given. but part of the defensive problem is that Liverpool have no out and out defensive midfielder. which others have. look at City Fernandinho sits there and protects the back four, United they have Matic who does do similar job, Chelsea have Kante who does similar job, Spurs have Wanyama who does similar. Arsenal and Liverpool have got no one who sits and protects their back four. Liverpool’s defence will improve if they find Alonso or Mascherano like defensive midfielder.

24th December 2017 at 12:35 pm #9780Agree with that Chelsea.man
We need a holding player and two centre backs
Bit concerned by lack of crowds at Games yday.
Stoke, Swansea, West Ham all looked a bit bare.Maybe itβs because itβs 2 days before Christmas but

24th December 2017 at 1:05 pm #9783Chelsea Man, that’s the whole purpose in swooping for Kieta. There was a fair whack on dosh spent on him as well and I think Klopp is trying to push for him to join us from next month rather than wait till the summer.
Van Dijk is just messy and a bit petty too as the guy wanted to move to us anyway. In the long run, I’d feel Mignolet would need to be replaced along with bringing in one more quality centre-half, then we would be a lot stronger.

24th December 2017 at 1:26 pm #9788Summing up this week, Spurs profitable as far as the chasing pack go. City are a bit like a certain team in the SPL at the moment and just assume they’ll just accumulate 3 points each game.
It’s healthy as far as 2nd place and the rest of us go, so that’s something to aim for.

Just think if your boys hadn’t of dropped home points against Chelsea and WBA.Then at Arsenal
last friday ? You’d be breathing right down Uniteds neck.Plenty of twists and turns left
yet though._____________________________

24th December 2017 at 1:52 pm #9791I think you will find that Lovren was highly rated 3 years ago similarly like VVD is rated. and a few Liverpool friends on mine were overjoyed when he signed for Liverpool. but what people don’t take in to account is the fact that without protection even the best of all defenders will struggle. he had Wanyama in front of him. and look at how defensive midfielder’s protection covers defenders flaws. compare the Otamendi of last season and the one of this season? compare the Cahill of two seasons ago and the one that has been playing in the last two years? look at Smalling and Jones and how Matic has made them better by protecting them. even if Van Dijk joins Liverpool under the current set up and Henderson who i feel isn’t a defensive midfielder but more like a box to box is told to protect. then that defender is bound to struggle. bringing back Keita is only one part of the solution. also a change of attitude in Klopp’s part is also required. like how you approach games when you are 2-3 goals up.

24th December 2017 at 1:57 pm #9793Keita is much more than just a defensive midfield player he’s a very effective box to box player which will improve Liverpool’s midfield but they will still need an out and out holder imo.

24th December 2017 at 2:24 pm #9798Iβve watched Keite for a few years and heβs no defensive midfielder guys. I do hope you donβt think heβs turning up to be that no6 roll because that isnβt his game. Heβs more of a hmmmmm Fabregas type or Ramsey type player isnβt he? Similar to Henderson but better

24th December 2017 at 2:25 pm #9800paul powers tash, ideally to a small degree, it’s a little bit of a failure and make no bones about it, Liverpool for their stature, history and achievements should be challenging for the League Title EVERY year.
Realistically we will fall short as clearly there are better quality teams out there such as yourselves.
I always say therefore aim high as possible, and that’s based on how the table is panning out and how the teams around us are performing.
You are right about what might have been, but I’m a lot happier this time round, good to see only 2 defeats to our name.

24th December 2017 at 2:41 pm #9805History and stature has no impact on competing for or winning League titles if it did Liverpool wouldn’t still be waiting for their first League title since 1990.
