26th December 2018 at 8:25 pm #30123Thereβs clearly something not right at City. To lose 3 in 4 league games would have been unheard of at the start of the season. By no means writing them off. But it would indicate that whatever problems they have probably wont be resolved as quickly as I thought.
Liverpool & Spurs continue to march forward. For now.

26th December 2018 at 8:53 pm #30125Mav, they’ve still got some pretty handy players, particularly up top. It is perhaps a bit makeshift at the back…but they still shouldn’t be losing 3 out of 4 league games.

26th December 2018 at 8:55 pm #30127It was always going to be mighty difficult to win another title this season, and there’s been too much hype around City so let’s congratulate Liverpool – which has strong momentum – and Spurs for both showing real intent. City will probably come good again but probably not this season in the league as the problems seem to be mounting with limited availability of short term fixes. Maybe Pep will do a runner if OGS ends up with more points!!

26th December 2018 at 9:29 pm #30128Take 5 of the best players out of any of the top teams no matter who they are and how good the squad may or may not be would have a massive effect.
As these City players come back and get back into the groove so City’s results will improve.

26th December 2018 at 10:06 pm #30130Nine, City today still featured Ederson, Aguero, Stones, Bernardo Silva, Sane, Sterling, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Delph and also featured Mahrez and David Silva. It was admittedly a bit makeshift at the back, but should that team not be doing better? And if not, should Pep not have adapted his game plan?

27th December 2018 at 2:11 am #30131AnonymousLiverpool are favourites now but that could be completely flipped in just the next 2 games.
I won’t talk down City’s poor results, they are catastrophic. The hope for them now must be that arsenal and themselves beat us but they’ve also got to take spurs really seriously, because they are looking really serious.
It was a great won today, even though my stream kept dying.

27th December 2018 at 8:03 am #30134Mikus, City have had a terrible run of injuries to key players and De Bruyne has missed most of the season as I said even when these players come back from injury as good as they are it takes them a period of time to get back to where they were which was the case yesterday particularly with Aguero.
When they are all back firing on all cylinders we will imo see a different City whether that might be too late to catch Liverpool now is open to conjecture.
Also in respect of yesterday’s defeat that was not the Leicester of a few weeks ago their key players are now back and firing and on their day Leicester are capable of beating anyone in the PL especially at home.
Personally I can’t critique Pep but I’m sure he will know what’s been going wrong for his team and will be looking at ways to put it right.
Liverpool are in a great position now I’m sure they will have too much for Arsenal who look vulnerable defensively which will suit Liverpool and the game at the Etihad should be a cracker. Enjoy it all mate this season looks like it might well be Liverpool’s season.Cheers 999

27th December 2018 at 9:18 am #30137AnonymousI’m only with some level of belief but the worst is when it starts looking good, only to go to nothing.
I’m holding off on getting carried away until after the next 2 games. Yes, the City result was great for our chances but I just have to wonder when our bad patch will come. Will city be back to form by the time we play them, or will the arsenal who outplayed us show up at Anfield in a search for blood.

27th December 2018 at 9:34 am #30139Paxton, in reply to your earlier post and I can assure you that the majority of City fans do not forget where they have come from, Lincoln City, macclesfield, Port Vale are still in our minds. As to Walker, it is not just the last few games he has a habit of going missing through poor positional play, Pep knew that and probably thought he could improve him. We have now been exposed in the full back position, right and left, the CB’s are pulled out of position covering for the too often, to some extent, they can do it when Fernandino and Silva are in tandem but not without them We cannot offer excuses, we were poor on the recent losses and got what we deserved.History now, move on,lets see less talk from players and better performances.

27th December 2018 at 9:58 am #30140Come on Double B, what do you expect? 18 months ago your mob spunked 150 million or whatever it was on full backs, fast forward 18 months and City boys are calling out for new fullbacks, you defend this (unlike your 150 million full-backs π ) by saying it’s okay because you used to play Macclesfield??
If the diamond encrusted Gucci football boot was on the other foot, what would you be saying? π

27th December 2018 at 11:17 am #30150AnonymousSalah was one of those where he went down far to easily, just a light touch on the upper arm was enough for a tumble. Can’t remember if it was both legs bent back or not, but way OTT. Not great to see. FA need to rule on those as we shouldn’t have that creeping into our game.
