For all the increased excitement for the neutral, I can’t help feeling City will still win the league with games to spare and Spurs will be overtaken by Chelsea and finish 4th. Under Poch, Spurs always seem to be great at getting halfway there but tend to falter when it really matters. For the sake of the league, I hope to be proved wrong.

24th December 2018 at 12:19 pm #30035AnonymousFair enough Nine and ya man I do sleep but I’m a bit of a night owl and sometimes that is my day π I’m super tired now but Im not allowed to sleep as I’ve got things to do π Funny that Palace ahev had a negative impact in City’s current title run, then Chelsea and of course… Liverpool surrendered the title against them in epic fashion back in 13/14.
Anyway, have a good Xmas Nine and the rest of ye too!

24th December 2018 at 1:05 pm #30037Hope you’re right about Chelsea Ed.? But Chelsea will need to get a goal scoring striker in in January imo for that to happen even to finish 4th.
In terms of the title I think City have to stay close to Liverpool over the next few games if Liverpool have extended their lead after the game at the Etihad it maybe difficult to catch them.Have a great Christmas with the family. Cheers 999

24th December 2018 at 1:35 pm #30039I said at start of season, spurs starting 11 is unreal and even without signing anyone they have an excellent squad
If Liverpool were 12 points clear at end of Jan I would still fancy us to fook it up
We keep losing finals etc so until that changes I will always have serious doubts
I agree with nine. City have a fabulous squad but every team no matter how good the back up players are , would hugely miss Aguero , fernhio , kdb etc. not a huge fan of mendy.

24th December 2018 at 2:24 pm #30043Sean, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there City have the best squad to cope with injuries and absences but even their squad can’t cope with losing 5 of their best players all of whom are starters. Take 5 key starters out of any of the PL teams in the top 6 and it would hamper them as it’s hampered City eventually.

24th December 2018 at 3:01 pm #30046Actually Ed,Chelsea in danger of being caught by Arse themselves,as things stand.Chelsea have not got a striker that scores on regular basis and rely far too much on Hazard to produce wonders every week, whereas Arse have PEA and AC that keep scoring!!

24th December 2018 at 3:15 pm #30050Regarding injuries, does anyone think clubs can sometimes be to blame for players picking up injuries through over playing?? I do worry about Van Dijk at Liverpool, but heβs so important to us. Should teams carry out regular checks and scans on players perhaps? And adapt accordingly. It is a weakness to be so reliant on a few individuals – in which case you either protect them and/or find better alternatives. I donβt know what the individual situations are with those City players but if many of those who are injured because of over playing, could City really complain in such a situation??

24th December 2018 at 4:53 pm #30051Brian blue, palace are a good side. Some really good players but good performances have not been kicking up points
I watched the game sat and I really think it was one of those games. An absolute wonder strike and few mistakes from city which were punished. Iβm sure city will bounce back very quickly
City need a proper replacement, backup player for ferindio. I donβt stones is a midfielder

24th December 2018 at 4:55 pm #30052Bricks, spurs were excellent. They can rotate with son, moura, lamely, Ali and Erickson and still have real quality there
Son is playing at the top of his game. Great player to watch

24th December 2018 at 5:15 pm #30054All true Mav and exactly what I’ve said myself on here re Chelsea but if Chelsea sign a Striker……..??
And Arsenal are vulnerable defensively having conceded 24 goals the most in the top 5.

24th December 2018 at 5:52 pm #30056Mav, clearly that won’t happen but whoever Chelsea might sign will be better than what we’ve got let’s see what January brings as I said if Chelsea can’t solve the striker connundrum then I doubt they will finish in the top 4. Maybe Michy or Tammy will come back and prove to be the missing ingredient.?
But that doesn’t change the fact that Arsenal are vulnerable defensively.
Still a long way to go and anything could happen I wouldn’t even rule United out of finishing in the top 4 if they go on a bit on a run under Solskjaer.

26th December 2018 at 8:43 am #30071Palace are better than there position in the league. City without Silva, Fernandiho and KDB lack forward mobility, I am sure we willrecover providing Walker does not give any more goals away, no need to panic
