I wouldn’t worry too much if I was a City fan you were without Aguero, De Bruyne and Mendy and were fantastic up until the Chelsea goal.
Yesterday was a minor set back once those three players are back especially the first two you will kick on I’m sure.
Sarri is right City are currently the best team in Europe and I will be surprised if they lose more than one or two PL games in total all season but Liverpool will run you close.

9th December 2018 at 2:14 pm #29220We can only hope that those who acted as they did against Raheem Sterling with their vile vitriol will be identified and banned by the Chelsea FC asap as well as being charged by the Police for their awful actions.
Grown men bringing shame on themselves, their families and the Club they purport to support.
Get them out of the Bridge for good there is no place for this sort of behaviour/racism in football or anywhere else for that matter.

9th December 2018 at 2:37 pm #29221Liverpool doing well but I agree nine. City are the best team in Europe.
I thought they were excellent till Chelsea scored who then upped their game and deserved to win but as gblue says, city only have utd away now out of the big teams
Hopefully miveroool are still near them come the meeting in Jan
Alison and vvd have made such a difference. Gomez has come on leaps and bounds under vvd but we lose vvd and we are screwed. Much better player then I gave him credit when we first signed him. He has everything. A beast of a player.
We are so much better organized. We play offside to a tee. Much better at defending set pieces but it took 3 years to get to this stage. Better players make a huge difference but itβs clear klopp has spent a lot of time on the training ground with the defence

9th December 2018 at 3:23 pm #29222I actually thought City were a tad unlucky yesterday but should have made possession count and won the game in the first half. Still, there have been signs of late that the team is that bit off the pace so no real surprise with the final outcome. It’s in a relatively flat spell/blip and Everton will be very difficult – anything less than a win might start to hit confidence. However, notwithstanding what happens against Everton, I have an gut feeling that Liverpool could embarrass City in early Jan.

9th December 2018 at 4:09 pm #29223Just been looking at the abuse given to Sterling.
There is a black guy just a few feet away. There is no excuse for this. Lets see what happens. It is not Chelsea’s fault_____________________________

9th December 2018 at 4:30 pm #29224Adlab, a Chelsea FC and Police investigation is underway. Chelsea FC have a zero tolerance to racism.
If any or all of these idiots are found to have shouted vile racist abuse they will get banned and rightly so. Nobody should have to put up with what Sterling experienced last night.

9th December 2018 at 5:21 pm #29226True Mav and it’s a society problem rather than just a football priblem, and it doesn’t help to have bars all around the Stadiums either. It’s a minority but an unacceptable minority.

I hope they identify this idiot and prosecute. Im sure Chelsea will ban him for life. Trouble is there will be another idiot to take his place in another club.Interesting what Sterling said about Daily Mail articles. Ok for Phil Foden to buy his mother a house but not Tosin or Sterling. The tone of those articles is also worrying.

9th December 2018 at 7:31 pm #29229Racism in all forms should have zero tolerance. I’m glad the club has taken it seriously. Credit to Sterling for brushing it off. I hope those idiots face life bans and jail terms. You can’t racially abuse Sterling and celebrate the Kante goal. And we have some black legends. Drogba, Cole, Ramirez,Kante, Essien, Makkalele,Willian and Rudiger. Our team is diverse. No need to damage the image of the club. After the JT moment of madness, the Paris Metro. We cannot afford more negative media coverage. It has soared our victory. But i commend the club and the police for acting quick and decisively.?

9th December 2018 at 8:39 pm #29230Adlab, I guess young players who have yet to establish themselves at their Club’s buying their Mothers Β£2.5mhouses will always be questioned if nothing else it’s a bit of the green eye.
But it’s a different world mate for footballers there’s a Bristol City player currently buying a house a couple of houses down from me and I’m friends with the current owners who told me fortunately for them there’s no chain as the player doesn’t need to sell his current house before buying the new one he’s going to keep the original house and just rent it out. Not many of us can afford to do that it’s a different world mate even in the Championship.

10th December 2018 at 3:13 am #29232Anonymous“Mak, be honest that was more in hope than in consideration.?”
Nine, it was exactly like my prediction at the start of the season, that Liverpool will win the league. So yes, you are correct Sir! π
Man City were EXTREMELY strong favourites and what has changed after the Chelsea loss is they are now slightly less extremely strong favourites. That is all. I’ll upgrade it when we’re 6 points ahead.

10th December 2018 at 9:12 am #29237Suggestions in the press that the abuse aimed at Sterling may have been “Manc c” which is almost just as bad to me and still deserves a ban.

10th December 2018 at 11:02 am #29240I’d like to think they’d be banned for life but hasn’t a precedent already been set regarding racist abuse at football matches in the cases of Terry and Suarez who were banned for a few matches and then allowed to come back after being found guilty? Is there a difference? Should there be, if so?

10th December 2018 at 11:10 am #29241That’s a dangerous argument. Short of shooting somebody on the pitch, no player is ever going to have his career “ended” with a life-time ban, and we all know it. But it is a scary thought if a “fan” (I use the term very loosely) uses that argument to “appeal” against a ban from a club.
Has a “scumbag” ever tried that? Don’t recall it but I would think there would have been headlines somewhere if they did…

10th December 2018 at 11:18 am #29242I don’t know. Personally, I think it’s more dangerous to differentiate between the different types of racist abuse than it is to find the similarities between them. BTW I’m not saying “let them off with a 8 match ban because of that”. I’m merely asking the broader question about whether there is much, if any, difference?
