Sean, yeah it’s a difficult one I guess that’s why United have got their lawyers involved so early. United won’t want to see it end in Court so a settlement of some sort seems most likely?
Allegedly Ronaldo and his Agent met with Bayern last week in London?
I don’t think he’ll go to a PL Club. Certainly not Chelsea as he wants a CL Club and I don’t think Chelsea will be in the CL next season.

15th November 2022 at 10:45 am #201008Aren’t Chelsea still in it this season? He’ll sign for 6 months and then choose again next summer.. π

15th November 2022 at 11:43 am #201009Are you cup-tied for the CL if you’ve played Europa? I guess not.
Someone will offer him a deal in the CL I reckon. A short term deal, especially if he’s on a free is an easy deal to do. If he also gets a payoff from Utd, he’ll not be bothered about taking a lower salary. He’d just want anywhere where he could top up his league and CL goals. His wages pay for themselves through commercial income for such a short term deal. The barrier in the summer was getting a club to take over his huge salary. If that’s not an issue, I think there’ll be a number of options.

15th November 2022 at 11:59 am #201010Ed, if Ronaldo wants to beat Messi to CL goals then he needs to sign for a Club that’s got every chance of making the CL next season this season whoever he signs for might be for just 2 games.
There’s no barrier now to Ronaldo playing in the CL this season having already played in the EL.

15th November 2022 at 12:24 pm #201012Never, ever, in a million years, would Danny-boy pay that sort of wedge in wages… π
As Puppy says, they changed the rules a year or two back… as long as it’s a different Euro Comp, it’s all good I believe…

15th November 2022 at 12:42 pm #201014Of course, he could always go to LiVARberoOol…. not like he really gives a monkeys about his legacy now, is it?

15th November 2022 at 12:44 pm #201015Joking aside, I think he’ll end up at Munich… more than decent chance at CL, and I would think the thought of another title in another country would fluff that ego a little bit.
But then again, you could say the same about PSG…. although a front line of Messi, Ronaldo, Naymer and M’Pappe might score a few but who the hell is going to help defend?

I think that’s been removed completely. When Liverpool signed Diaz in January he’d already played for Porto in the group games in the CL that season but was still allowed to play for Liverpool in the CL in the same season in the knockout stages.

That’s be his priority I’m sure Nine. But even a side with 2 CL games is 2 more than he’s have by staying put π

15th November 2022 at 3:12 pm #201018Yeah I agree with that Ed. He’s definitely going to go this time and I suspect he will want to try and join a Club with potential longevity in the CL.
It’s not going to be easy for him after all this nonsense plus what went before. But you won’t care where he goes just as long as he goes.π

16th November 2022 at 9:13 am #201021In my eyes admittedly, he’s more likeable than unlikeable. I don’t know why that is. Possibly when brushing all the antics to one side, he’s one of the most dedicated and committed pros I’ve ever come across who is consistent and will give it his all.

16th November 2022 at 9:15 am #201022Need to be a big kid and buy a wall chart haha. Sky Sports Cancelled. Football incidentally after the World Cup will return on Amazon Prime. Main matches as far as SS is concerned won’t feature till around the 30th of Dec so a little bit of money saving π

18th November 2022 at 3:57 pm #201053“Manchester United have told Cristiano Ronaldo not to return to their Carrington training ground and are preparing to sue the Portuguese forward after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan. Ronaldo is set to have his Red Devils contract ripped up in the wake of his merciless public comments about the Glazers, Erik ten Hag and others.” Express 18/11
As anticipated could get messy if he fights it though.

19th November 2022 at 8:12 am #201063Yeah I agree Nil both parties could have sat down and agreed a non controversial exit in January.
Ronaldo is a United legend he should have gone on when requested with 3 minutes to go in the Spurs game but was it necessary with United 2 nil up and Spurs so poor on the day.
Even now the sensible thing is to sit down and agree a sensible January exit if it goes legal and Ronaldo wants to defend it,it could get very messy but the reality is United don’t want Ronaldo back and he needs to move on in January a joint agreement to cancel his contract is the best solution for both parties imo.

19th November 2022 at 8:58 am #201064Nine, unfortunately in light of recent events, Ronnie’s legacy is more than tarnished. I understood where he came from as there was a slight clash and show of a possible age difference between himself and other teammates in the dressing room.
It seemed the exchange with him and Bruno was more politeness and respect but no further bond beyond. Possibly Ronaldo struggled with that aspect of his position which possibly created friction and waves. He’s a Parent and has been round the block. I don’t believe he now projects himself as a ‘Big I Am’.
More to the point that he prides in his stature, well being, achievements and everything he stands for as a professional. You get the feeling that part of him felt forced on others and he became needy and wanting of gratitude from others in return. It’s understandable and life.
Never the less, these feelings and grievances aired quite simply delivered wrongly into public domain and should have been dealt behind the closed doors of Manchester United.
Personally as a fan, I feel sad about the situation even though they are my rivals. Manchester United are a Fantastic Club in the way they deal with professionalism on matters. An essentially swift resolve now with little fuss and amicable as possible to free both parties.
