Ole would be fine Nine if we had to play the top sides every week. Incredible record against all the top sides but pretty dire against the rest

7th December 2019 at 7:28 pm #55917The title was long gone before this game imo even without Liverpool’s really impressive form injuries have stripped City of their potency and not strengthening defensively in the Summer has proved to be a major error by Pep.

7th December 2019 at 7:29 pm #55919Bit disrespectful to Leicester too who have been Liverpool’s major challenger for a number of weeks now.

7th December 2019 at 7:32 pm #5592411 points in front of Leicester albeit with a game in hand and 14 points ahead of City Liverpool can only throw the title away now and I really can’t see that happening.

7th December 2019 at 7:38 pm #55927Ed, understand why you would say that but that was a proper performance today both offensively and defensively. I think Ole will get time now and the Summer window and next season. Get Pogba back and the speed of that front three is frightening. I can see more performances and more results like that coming for United over the rest of the season and top 4 is still well on for United imo.

7th December 2019 at 7:39 pm #55928I don’t think this concludes the Title Race. Long and Far from it because there is still in reality 22 matches to play. A couple of Liverpool defeats let’s say in succession opens it up widely or allows Leicester to home in on us.
The only point I’d make is 18-2-lost one in Pep’s second season whereby he was streets ahead with 55 points. If Liverpool can win their next 3 matches in succession, and any of these drop points, it will obviously widen the gap and make things more comfortable for the Reds.

7th December 2019 at 7:39 pm #55929I’m very surprised that United won. I love it. But I never saw it coming. So we beat Leicester, the noisy neighbours, Chelsea and Tottenham and drew against Liverpool. And been poor against pretty much all other teams. I don’t know what to make of this team and Ole. Clearly a lot of deadwood still at the club and a lot of rebuilding ahead. But is Ole the right man to steer the ship?
City perhaps look like they’re at the end of a cycle. I can’t see them pulling back 14 points on this great Liverpool team. IMO Guardiola needs to win the CL. Otherwise the season is a disaster. He never replaced Kompany and too many of the players have peaked. Many are even old now. If City fail to win the CL under Guardiola, surely his time with City is a failure. Thoughts?

7th December 2019 at 7:40 pm #55930Typical derby game. Expect the unexpected. Utd took the spoils to day by doing a better job up front. City tried but it was just not enough to day.
We need to re focus on the rest of the season now and what that may bring. The PL has now gone, oddly I still thought we would claw our way back but we have now virtually no defenders left now with Stones off again_____________________________

7th December 2019 at 7:43 pm #559339-Lesta deserves all the respect there is,but I was addressing Chucks with the aims of his team, namely that even 2nd is possible considering the amount of football left to be played.

7th December 2019 at 7:45 pm #55934I somewhat agree Nine, these performances are not indicative of a manager that has lost the dressing room. Yes theyβll still be inconsistent, but is another manager really going to change a lot with this crop of players? Not for me.

7th December 2019 at 7:46 pm #55935Fresh pot of tea and the Spurs game starts in 10 minutes on my TV (and the Everton game too!). Might have to watch the first half at least, see Sonny’s goal in my big screen a couple of times.
