Nine I very clearly remember you saying before xmas last season that it was Liverpools to lose & a couple of other comments basically saying it’s take a miracle if anyone else won it (couldn’t be bothered looking back to see your exact wording) and we know what happened there.
No matter what anyone say’s this title is far from over, 8 points is a few draws or losses away from being very tight and with over half the season still to play that could well happen.
Liverpool haven’t really had a blip yet, the same as around this stage last season, but there will be a point where we drop points and with Leicester having no C/L or other distractions they can once again put all their efforts into the EPL. We also know city can put q long winning streak together as well. We looked unbeatable this time last season so I doubt you’ll hear many Liverpool fans saying they think we’ll win it until it’s close to mathematically out of the question. I hope those saying we will win it are correct but it’s too early to call yet._____________________________

13th December 2019 at 10:31 pm #56636Oz, no apologies from me mate I thought Liverpool would win it last season and tbh I think they should have won it from where they were but the draws did for them and then there was a fantastic City team chasing them down.
However that experience from last season has made Liverpool a much tougher nut to crack this season alongside that there’s been lots of last minute goals and 50/50 decisions that have gone Liverpool’s way and having lived through 5 PL title wins myself that’s always a good indication of Champions imo.
I tell it as I see it Oz and as I said I make no apology for that if the City of last season without all the injuries were 8 points behind I wouldn’t be as confident but it’s not and they are 14 points behind and I don’t think on current form Liverpool are likely to be caught by City even with the return of their injured players.
As for Leicester I know they’ve proved everyond wrong before me included but I think that they are punching above their weight currently and when push comes to shove I think they will fall short and imo are more likely to finish in 3rd place.
If you’ve read my previous posts I’ve said it still can’t be called with any certainty with 66 points still to play for, you can’t discount a drop off of form from Liverpool that might test their confidence and as I’ve said December is a crucial month for Liverpool but if they come through that still with a healthy lead then imo Liverpool will be just about hitting the home straight although obviously an unforseen injury crisis could still contribute to things going aray.
Of course I truly get why Liverpool fans don’t want to tempt fate by saying Liverpool will win it but non Liverpool fans like me don’t have those emotional ties and we just say it like we see it.
As it stands I would even be prepared to put £10 of my own money on Liverpool winning it if the odds weren’t as mean at 1/7 on.?

14th December 2019 at 6:21 pm #56668I’m not sure why there’s criticism on Nine’s viewpoints.
I think it’s more a matter of how non-Liverpool supporters perceive us.
I’m happy obviously with the 3 points from lunchtime today and Leicester draw. Plus, I see us a little bit like Man United when are on the pitch; the Dwight Yorke-Andy Cole era.
But even this boost today won’t make me get carried away, but it’s obviously worth embracing the moment.
Whatever is printed here or what the media choose to talk about doesn’t really have a strong influence of what happens on the pitch. It just generates chat-discussion-debate and in Jurgen’s famous last words – “that’s how it is” 🙂
