Sure but we’re in an era of record breaking in the PL. The old rules don’t apply. There never was a team like City who would potentially go on a 20 ,PL game winning streak, if they got their players back and the fire int heir belly. They’ve done what? 14 and 18 before? 14 being the last 14 of last season.

So as much as you want to build us up just to laugh when we fall, I’m not climbing your strawmans house.

You just want to say “oh it’s over”, so you can say “you bottled it!!!” later on. Why aren’t you telling adlab and co that they’ve bottled it?

If Adlab and the Cutie Pies chucked away a 14 point lead and lost a title because of it, I would absolutely be telling them they bottled it… and nobody’s asking you to climb on anybody’s house, straw or not. LiberoOol’s are this seasons champions, like it or not, and by all means, don’t shout it from the rooftops yet, but ask the non-LiberoOol’s to pretend it isn’t so… just saying that isn’t going to happen!! 🙂

Mak I hate the whole “bottled it” thing, it’s just a stick for rival fans to beat each other with. I even heard that Liverpool bottled the league last season, well no they did unbelievably good just the Cuties did slightly better.

A lot of rival fans are most likely bigging up Liverpool’s chances (as in it’s over etc) just so that can either
a) Laugh at us even more when we lose out to City or Leicester (bottled it!!)
b) So they can then claim Liverpool fans were celebrating in December etc when we are not saying anything like that
c) It’s kind of a defence mechanism for their feelings towards their own team’s failings

No team actually bottles it, well except Newcastle all those years ago and any time Spurs get a sniff of success 😀

Forget the fans of the PL Clubs most fans from the Championship down think Liverpool will be crowned Champions based on how they currently see the title race it’s got nothing to do with their own Clubs.

Ya Threeps, if bottling the league is winning the last 9 games in a row, reaching the 3rd highest ever points tally then i guess every PL winner before Pep came along bottled it too, just not as hard as all the other bottlers.

Ya, there are no Keegans here. That was an era of football where you could lose 6 games and still be crowned champions. Those days are gone., for now. Maybe they will return in the 2nd half of this season, or the season after this.

82 points? Our bottling was a full 15 points above the title winning side that season. We’ll get more than that again this season, regardless of what happens, as to where the title actually goes.

This “nobody likes us everybody hates us think I’ll go eat worms” theme is getting a bit wearing now.

Liverpool are currently Champions of Europe and very likely PL Champions too they’re a great team full of great players with a fantastic Manager just enjoy where you guys are now it won’t last forever it never does as everyone knows.

9 – I think when it comes to the PL most liverpool fans, including myself are hypersensitive. We will be until we are crowned champions IMO. I try to ignore all the comments re bottling etc, but if City were in our position, I would be saying it’s theirs to lose as well. It’s very hard for any red to have that confidence in our team, and at present it feels a little too good to be true.

Unless Liverpool implode in an almost biblical way they’ve got the PL title in the bag. They’re winning even on bad days.
As it is now it’s Liverpool’s to throw away much more than it’s City’s to win.

It truly would be bottling for Liverpool not to win it. But they won’t bottle it. They have the experience of last season’s title run, they proved to themselves in the CL that they can win and be up for it when it matters, they got a better and more balanced squad than City and dare I say it the better manager.
