On the subject of Racism and what went on, I have seen on the Internet what’s happened and it’s totally inexcusable.
Perhaps though, it might be better to park the discussion for tomorrow and keep the atmosphere upbeat, tonight. Just a thought.

7th December 2019 at 9:03 pm #55974Brian, yes I saw that srd owned up to that one and stepped back a bit by admitting it might have been a bit harsh. Far too harsh imo . The CL is not that easy to win and good fortune plays a part and I don’t think City have had too much of that in the CL.
SAF is the most successful Manager in the history of English football but it took him 13 years to win his first CL and during his entire tenure at United he only won 2 of them which illustrates the point.

7th December 2019 at 9:24 pm #55978Brian & 999, the CL is hard to win. But surely City brought in Guardiola to win the CL? Before he came in, they already had won the PL and the domestic cups. He has made City even more dominant than they were before he came – at least in terms of keeping possession in games. Guardiola is a top manager. But if he leaves City without winning the CL, how will the City fans look back at him?
Could the same be said of his time at City if he “only” leaves with domestic trophies?

7th December 2019 at 10:36 pm #55982I think Pep has overthought his setup and tactics in the big CL games since heβs been at Barcelona. I suspect this is because he doesnβt quite have the same trust in the players that he did at Barca.

8th December 2019 at 9:11 am #55985Anonymous“Bit disrespectful to Leicester too who have been Liverpoolβs major challenger for a number of weeks now.”
There is a huge part of me that says it isn’t over and of course it isn’t. Key injuries and a lack of planning for defensive cover has cost City. I think we’re better equipped defensively but if we take losses to other areas, we might struggle as bad or worse.
There has to come a point though where we must question our own position on things. No Liverpool fan wants to say “It’s over, we’re champions!” But I said last week that i was starting to believe and it’s only gotten better for us this week. It’s odd though because the main 2 out of the only 3 teams whoa re capable of challenging us have fallen away a little and it’s now Leicester, who’ve won every single game since we beat them. If you lads remember, that wasn’t exactly cut and dry either, so Leicester are a proper team and we’ve got to respect them.
As things stand though, I have to say that City and Chelsea are currently out of the title race. Chelsea weren’t expected to be there, so they are fine but Pep, for all his INCREDIBLE ability as a manager has made a fatal flaw in not having enough defensive cover. It’s no good to pull a top player out of his best position because it’s like you’re losing a half a player in each position.
I know that the Liverpool fans response might get boring and even annoy the neutrals on here, we don’t want to call the title because we know how wrong it can go. So, although you won’t catch me seriously saying “it’s over”, I will say that i do now think Liverpool will win the title. You lads might laugh though but I don’t think we can count out Leicester. The talk has all been City this or City that whilst Chelsea and Leicester battered teams. Chelsea have fallen away a little since but it’s a long season and honestly, they are a breath of fresh air for a PL that was potentially facing stagnation.
Leicester will win tomorrow but if they somehow don’t, the media will have a circus with it and over-state…
Funnily enough lads, I fell asleep at my desk as I wrote this. So “tomorrow” becomes today. I may add to it later but thought I’d post it anyway
