If we’re doing quotes, some of my Maureen favourites.. ๐
But I think it’s more normal for my team to have no success than it is to win two consecutive European cups.
“It is now cultural in the Premier League; this way of playing with so many behind the ballโ</em
“I saw the Barcelona players trying to put pressure on the referee. Why can Barcelona not act like champions and accept they lost on the night to a team that played better?”
“Other managers, they cry, they cry, they cry when some player is injured. I don’t cry”
“I don’t want to win the UEFA Cup. It would be a big disappointment for me if I win it”_____________________________

4th December 2018 at 8:32 pm #28999Oh Mourinho is an absolute crackpot Chucky. But, don’t be afraid to pull your own manager up on his faults either. I honestly can’t imagine another manager not being bothered about winning a cup. One thing nobody can deny about Mourinho is that he desperately wants to win every competition he is in. The Uefa Cup quote was when he wasn’t in it and he was winding Rafa up.

4th December 2018 at 8:36 pm #2900127-Regardless m8,Inter were,are,and will remain a European footballing force.Winning it with someone like,CSKA Moscow,Anderlecht,Bilbao,Hoffenheim,Olympiacos,Malmo,Trondheim,Wisla Krakow,etc,would be a major shock.Inter have now won it 3 -times.

4th December 2018 at 9:08 pm #29005Mav,we’ll forget the 45 year gap in winning the CL until Mourinho arrived shall we.?
If you don’t think Mourinho winning the treble at Inter including the CL after a 45 year wait was an achievement that’s your opinion mate and I respect that.

4th December 2018 at 9:09 pm #29006Nice goal by Mahrez. And this is City without Mendy, Laporte, Sterling and Aguero too.

4th December 2018 at 11:25 pm #29009AnonymousI only saw about 20 minutes of it. In that time Jesus and Sane were quite wasteful. it’s a shame that Watford couldn’t get the equalizer, it would have made for a much more interesting prospective title race. It wasn’t to be though and tomorrow, Liverpool have got to go out there and keep the pressure on with a win.

5th December 2018 at 10:08 am #29019Would it be fair to say Pochettino is a better man manager than Mourinho but that Mourinho is a more of a winner in terms of tactics in big games and getting his teams generally over the line with a strong mentality over a much shorter term period? And because he builds such a strong siege mentality, when things start going wrong he doesnโt have the temperament to put things right because of his passion and paranoia for control. Pochโs record vs the top 6 is very mixed for example (ok, he may not have the funds of other clubs but itโs the *way* heโs lost some of those games tactically and mentally thatโs concerning). But Mourinho is a manager for the here and now, heโs not interested in developing teams from scratch or fielding youngsters which is why the Man Utd job was never really right for him and why he was never backed in the way he expected. So two very different managers with positives and negatives. Pochettino certainly looks a better fit if Man Utd are determined to go down the path of developing and blooding their youth. And Poch, with more money could obviously do more things. But Iโm still to be convinced of his big game mentality to win the big prizes. And to be fair the same could be said of Klopp whose record in finals is very poor indeed – but both managers get a better press because theyโre more affable.

5th December 2018 at 10:17 am #29020AnonymousMikus – mourinho has played more youth than anyone in the top 6. More minutes, more academy players more young players. Itโs something that he has not always done, but is a complete myth based on his time at Utd. More successful managers in the PL have played fewer youth players, and none from the academy (or at least none for any reasonable amount of time).

5th December 2018 at 10:45 am #29022Alfie, I donโt doubt he has played a lot of the youth. But how much of that was his choice? The club has tried to bend him towards such a thing very idealistically when heโs not really that kind of manager.

5th December 2018 at 10:52 am #29023Along with Micky’s comment above, and it applies to all managers, how many “minutes of yoof” is simply down to injuries/suspensions?
A better comparison would be think what the managers (any manager) likely formation/team when he has a fully fit squad to choose from!

5th December 2018 at 10:53 am #29024And yeah, Poncho’s record against the Big-dogs is a bit hit and miss to say the least… not good enough for YooUtd, he should stay at Spuds… ๐
