4th December 2018 at 5:50 pm #289572 CL’s won with two different Club’s and multiple League titles in every Country Mourinho has ever worked in despite all of his faults and wherever he might find himself today (which is not totally all his fault imo) doesn’t change the fact that Mourinho has been a very very succesful Manager that’s not even debatable! And imo it would still be a brave man that bet against him being successful again whether that will or won’t be at Manchester United remains open to conjecture.
And whilst I’m not absolving him of some of his foolishness some people can’t wait to put the boot in on a thread which is actually about the midweek games for goodness sake.?

4th December 2018 at 6:14 pm #28958Mav, I’m not sure what Rafa leading Liverpool to an unlikely CL win in 2005 has got to do with what Mourinho has achieved in his career suffice to say Mourinho has been much more succesful than Rafa in their individual careers and Mourinho delivered succes at both Inter and Real Madrid something which Rafa couldn’t do.

4th December 2018 at 6:27 pm #2896427-Jose might be achieving things with another team, just wont be with United. And yes,he WAS a very successful manager-we are talking right now and United. He is destroying our club right now,we are a laughing stock-thanks to him.He is a despicable human being!

4th December 2018 at 6:56 pm #28978You know Im biased so lets get that out of the way. Being as objective as possible the problem with Jose is that his approach and tactics havent moved on since being at Chelsea the first time.
He still believes in power, height and high balls to a big centre forward and tbat can win matches. It can but not against good football teams.
Also he doesnt help himself with stupid comments and outing players in public.
As a City fan I hope he stays and signs more like Sanchez, Fred etc_____________________________

4th December 2018 at 6:58 pm #289809-Rafa won it without spending hundreds of millions of ££££,plus winning the CL with Inter is not considered a shock.

4th December 2018 at 7:00 pm #28981Mourinho and Utd are quite rightly getting pelters for this season. No getting away from that. The moment Utd not challenging is seen as just another season is the day I’ll worry as it means we’re no longer a threat.
I’m still going back to that link which says Poch has spent 300mil in his spell there! How he escapes any criticism is beyond me.

4th December 2018 at 7:37 pm #28985Perhaps this is a bit too black or white. Mourinho won two titles in 2016. He might not be the right man for United, but 2016 is only two years ago. He won the League in 2015.
When did Guardiola last win the CL? Or anything in Europe for that matter? And wouldn’t most win the League with City nowadays?
To call Mourinho yesterdays man is premature, IMO. But too much water under the bridge at United for him to succeed now, I think._____________________________

4th December 2018 at 8:01 pm #28992Mav, prior to winning the CL in 2010 the last time Inter won the European Cup was 1965. It was a shock particularly as Inter eliminated Barca in the Semi Finals. Didn’t someone else do that too??

4th December 2018 at 8:15 pm #28993Cups don’t count Nine ?. That’s what being a fan of Poch’s teams does to you. You think you’re too good to win cups. Didn’t he once say that he might just play the kids in the cup because it doesn’t matter for Spurs or something like that?!
Srd, agree with all that. Too late to turn it around now, definitely.
Chucky, just like Jose dining out on his CL triumphs, I know you’ll be dining out on that 3-0 for years to come ?. So cups don’t count because you can get lucky but one off games are meaningful?!
