“Beckham’s seen Sullivan off his line”!!!
Nope, but it’s W a y n e – R o o n e y and what a finish outside the halfway line!!!!! Absolutely tremendous and well deserved. It appears to be an alternative universe as far as the toffees go tonight.

29th November 2017 at 9:55 pm #8105Betting suspended! That actually looks like Man City in May, on the last day.

29th November 2017 at 9:58 pm #8106Hats off to City there. Really looked like the gap would close a little at the top tonight but that’s a huge win. Two very late wins in their last two games for City.
On one hand, a great show of character. On another, it definitely looks like they’re not rolling over teams like they were earlier on in the season. As long as they keep picking up the wins, though, they won’t care.

29th November 2017 at 10:01 pm #8108Really pleased for Unsworth finishing off with a 4 nil win. And a hat trick for Rooney one of them a worldie from beyond the half way line. Form is temporary class is permanent.
And Big Sam is not even in the dug out yet.
City dig out a win in the 96th minute. That’s what Champions do.
And a win for the blues too even without Conte pacing the line, and big win for Liverpool at Stoke and an even bigger win for Arsenal at home to Huddersfield.

29th November 2017 at 10:55 pm #8115This actually (certainly to me) feels like Arsenal 49. You can see the resemblance to this current Man City compared to that Gunners side of circa 2004. There’s so much about the mentality side that when winning and confidence breeds in, you just feel invincible!

29th November 2017 at 10:57 pm #8116And there goes Sterling now, ala Match Of The Day. He’s more than convinced me that he’s back to the player he was circa 2013/14.

30th November 2017 at 12:25 am #8117Nil, IMO Sterling is twice the player he was in 2014. Guardiola has improved him immeasurably.

30th November 2017 at 8:28 am #8123Jim, that would be expected because back then, Sterling was in his teens. I’m noticing his sharpness has come back and he’s instinctive. The bullet he fired at Carrow Road back in 14 was the Sterling I remember when he was in a Red shirt.

30th November 2017 at 8:36 am #8126Jim, I’m sure that the overall developments in Sterling’s game is down to Pep’s coaching. Sterling is a much better player now playing under Pep. Good news for England too.

30th November 2017 at 8:38 am #8128Banjo…bad news, mate…they only need to beat you 5-0, not 6-0. I know what my prediction will be!!

30th November 2017 at 8:48 am #8131I was talking to a mate today whoβs a spurs tragic & still has family there with season tickets, he was saying he thinks spurs are a bit like our mob in that their 1st 11 is as good as anyone but they lack the depth in key areas. I donβt follow other teams that much but do you spurs supporters feel the same way. Who are you missing at the moment that would make a difference? When you gave our lot an arse whipping a few weeks ago I was mighty impressed but the wheels pretty much fell off after that (typical for Liverpool, we cop the best you can play).

30th November 2017 at 8:57 am #8132Anonymousoz – its a pretty accurate assessment. any injury to a player from the first XI and we seem to lose our shape and balance completely. without wanyama and alderweireld we have no organisation or muscle in the middle. essentially we also lose dier because hes dropped back and we’ve learned he isnt a very good centre back. toby also provides a great link between defence and attack which provides another option on the ball. without that its just slow passing forwards and then no killer ball. also dembele cant play a full game and sissoko is just not a suitable replacement. but our biggest problem is the loss of walker and poch’s issues with rose. with them in the team we had pace and attacking threat from deep. without them there is no pace in the team at all. yes trippier is a better crosser of the ball than walker but walker would get in better positions and much more frequently. i think its quite worrying. all the hard work the last few years will mean absolutely nothing if we dont improve very quickly.

30th November 2017 at 9:52 am #8134Tongue firmly in cheek chaps, if we don’t finish 2nd, it’ll be first!! π
As for the Spuds current form, as Paxo says, coping without Vicky and Toby is what is causing the current “crisis”, with a very badly misfiring Moose, leaving us with Disco Bunny starting on a regular basis in midfield.
Not too sure I would agree with Paxo about the Rose/Walker angle, thought we were much better with Davies/Trippier at the start of the season, I’d be playing those two more regularly if I was Poncho (don’t get me wrong, Walker and Rose are a better pairing but Walker’s gone and Rose is understandably half the player he was last year while getting back to form).
Double H… so 4-0 it is! π
