Mane has been our best forward but I’m talking about the state of his mind. Firmino doesn’t seem troubled but it was only recently when mane had to be lifted up and helped off the pitch for his country. If he didnt miss those chances today, he could have starred. He did everything right except the finish. How many times? Was it 5-6?
Maybe I’m over thinking it. I’ll stop thinking about it and just be glad that we got the points. the win will be great for the atmosphere around the club and hopefully it’s something the lads can push on from. if this is what we needed to find 3rd gear then great.

2nd December 2018 at 7:40 pm #28786AnonymousAdlab, I think that’s pretty unfair to say that Klopp is a histrionic person (edited wording). Were you not a City fan I’d suggest that there was a little jealousy in there ๐

2nd December 2018 at 8:08 pm #28788Mak, come on mate that’s what Klopp is he wears his heart on his sleeve he’s not the only Manager to do that. I suspect he will get a fine and a warning but he won’t care a jot.
The danger is if Klopp does that on an away ground it could cause a riot but I understand why he lost it given the unlikelyness of what happened and the importance of the win to Liverpool.

2nd December 2018 at 8:14 pm #28789Nine. Thats the sams point. Still think much of it is put on. Maybe he’s just not my cup pf tea as a type. More personal than football. Just dont like what I see. Might be a good manager but…..
Anyhow keeps the pressure on!_____________________________

2nd December 2018 at 8:28 pm #28790Adlab, football is an emotional game and I get the Liverpool fans supporting Klopp for acting like one of them but I agree he does need to rachet it back a tad.

2nd December 2018 at 8:40 pm #28792AnonymousHistrionics implies that he does it for attention, that it’s fake. That is not what Klopp is, Nine. Not even close. He’s a super passionate, animated extrovert who wears his heart on his sleeve but none of it is fake. Should he wind it in? I don’t think so. I’m completely ok with it , under the circumstances. he didn’t make any gestures towards the other team or their supporters. It was only celebration. The FA will probably fine him but I would tell him to carry on as he was.

2nd December 2018 at 8:50 pm #28793Mak, I agree I don’t think Klopp is fake but he does regularly let his emotions get the better of him and he can get out of control. Ultimately he will have to wind it in a bit otherwiee he’ll potentially end up watching games from the Stands.

2nd December 2018 at 8:53 pm #28794AnonymousIts a small risk in fairness and even if it goes wrong for him, it’ll be 1 game, it’s not something Im concerned about. Honestly, Im happy to see it, as long as he isnt winding up opposition managers, players or the fans.

2nd December 2018 at 8:57 pm #28795Mak, you can’t have Managers running on the pitch to celebrate goals and he’s acknowledged that by apologising. If Pep was regularly doing it I think you might have a different opinion.?

2nd December 2018 at 11:51 pm #28800Wow they say you need luck sometimes but we must be running that tank empty now, very lucky to win that.
Seriously what is it going to take for Firmino to be dropped, he must have something on Klopp, he is getting worse & needs to be dropped.
Forget putting pressure on c$ty, they cannot & will not be caught, we are all fighting for 2nd. Good win by the Gooners, shows they are well in this hunt for a top 4 finish. Top four will be very interesting, unlike the title._____________________________

3rd December 2018 at 12:04 am #28801AnonymousYa Nine , I get you. I do sometimes wonder what it must be like for opposition fans with Klopp being the media darling. It used to be Jose and I absolutely loath him but I’d like to think that is because he’s a prick but here we are with at least one person on this forum who doesn’t like Klopp and maybe he’s not alone.
Aussie, Firmino must be dropped now and even though Klopp clearly loves Firmino, he must now know this. Origi had 12 minutes and he nearly setup a goal, hit the post and then scored the winner. he’s got to start the next match. This is coming from a person who moaned about him coming on at all but I can admit when I’m wrong and although I’m not going to completely change my mind on Origi on the whole, I think we’ve got a problem that he can help us with right now.
As for the PL title, as long as we are within touching distance of 1st place, we’ve “got a chance”. That chance might be a lot smaller than some make out but the longer we keep them close to us, the better. it is almost certainly a case of us fighting for 2nd, true but let’s keep winning and see what happens.
I say this on the back of another stroke of luck. In a way it’s not luck when you get a late goal, it takes mental strength to keep your head with all the pressure but on the other hand, Evertons keeper handed us the chance to take all 3 points. We just had to have a switched on striker there ready to take them. I won’t shit on origi again.

3rd December 2018 at 6:51 am #28802AnonymousCracking NLD. Son is a discrace for that dive, hope the authorities throw the book at him, but no doubt it will be forgotten as the media arenโt making an issue out of it.
Didnโt see much of the Merseyside derby, but thought Everton set up well and had the better of a lot of it. Knew Liverpool would score at the end, thought it would be a penalty but ended up being a gifted goal. What was Pickford thinking? The ball was going over the bar.

3rd December 2018 at 6:53 am #28803AnonymousNot expecting anything meaningful to happen with Klopp. FA save themselves for Jose. Again media will let him get away with breaking the rules.

3rd December 2018 at 7:18 am #28804Would be nice if the powers that be made a stand against diving, even if it was Son who’s going to be the fall-guy (pun fully intended! ๐ ), but like Alf says, unlikely. Just goes to highlight the double standards we all have, he wasn’t the first, and I’m happy to take any bets from anybody he won’t be the last…
Decent day for football, Spuds deserved the spanking they got to be honest, with a RB, RCB, and RCM consisting of Weirdy Beardy, Disco Siisksksolko (who reverted to type after several weeks of being a footballer) and “The Kid”, was also going to ask for trouble. I think Poncho needs to take a bit of the “blame” for that one…
I thought the Norffern Pussy Derby deserved to be a draw to be honest, Pool were better in the first half, thought Everton were better in the 2nd, but what a bloody howler that was!!
Nevermind, at least I’m not in love with the big soppy tart that is YooUtd these days… I almost, but not quite, feel sorry for them! ๐

3rd December 2018 at 7:21 am #28805Oh, the manager thing is a good one, my commentary were banging on about Emery spending most of the game outside his technical area despite numerous “warnings”, let alone the Grinmeister General running to Scunthorpe and back when Pickford went all mental… either enforce the rules or don’t bloody have them, but don’t introduce them and then ignore them… that’s annoying for everybody.

3rd December 2018 at 9:19 am #28806Total bullocks, I’ll be the first to say it, but these are the words from a former Prem Ref…
What makes this decision so difficult is that you could argue it is still a penalty even though no contact has been made.
Law 12 states that a direct free-kick (which is a penalty if committed inside the area) is awarded if a player makes a challenge โconsidered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force.โ
Nowhere does it mention contact must be made to commit an offence.
Holdingโs challenge was desperate and, as a result, careless, which officials judge to be when you show โa lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge, or acting without precautionโ. He made no contact because Son took evasive action rather than because he took any care to avoid his opponent.
