19th November 2019 at 9:30 am #53141All over the cyber fish-wrappings puppy, but so is the “full backing of the board as they plan for Janaury signings” so called exclusive. Nobody really knows, let’s be honest, and although I haven’t read it, I’m sure the Telegraph as stating “internal sources” rather than any actual quotes from anybody, that way they don’t get sued for talking bullocks… π

19th November 2019 at 10:05 am #53147Okay, I read the article, you’ve convinced me… of course, my unnamed source, is of the understanding, told me by private text messages that nobody else has seen, preparing me for change, also reckons that Mat Law and John Percy made all this up over a couple of pints in the pub last night. Of course, as two “journo’s” made this up between them, it must be true!! π

19th November 2019 at 11:36 am #53153AmzzZZzzzz… said it before, cyber chum, reckon it’s all the contract rebels causing more harm than good, a few of them are certainly giving the impression of not given an Arsenal this season. He’s deserved to right to spunk some wedge and get rid of the bad apples, try and build Spuds 2.0.
Besides, my bottle tops reckon if he does go, we’ll end up with Steady Eddy Howe and that’s not pulling up my trees… get rid of Wee Erik, Toby, Jan, Rose etc… and see what happens!

19th November 2019 at 12:37 pm #53155Tbh I think it’s probably time for a change at Spurs and that both Spurs and Pochettino would benefit from a change.

19th November 2019 at 12:51 pm #53156AnonymousThe best change for Spurs would be to get a more benevolent owner, you cannot be stingy if you want to compete with the top clubs in the top league of the world, for goodness sake rather leave a legacy you cannot take your wealth to the afterworld.

19th November 2019 at 1:04 pm #53161You make it sound so simple Moos, let me just pop out and find a more benevolent owner, as they apparently grow on trees in your part of the world… π

19th November 2019 at 1:24 pm #53167Chucky, Joe Lewis is allegedly worth 5.4 billion dollars but a multi billionaire owner is irrelevant now in respect of investing in buying new players because owners can no longer sponsor transfer spending.
The theme of what Moos is saying re Spurs is correct though what’s happened at Spurs is a total lack of investment over a number of windows an aging squad with a number of players coming to the end of their contracts and consequently not being necessarily commited to Spurs.
Spurs additional problem is that they have to pay for the new Stadium seemingly at the expense of player recruitment all of these things have come together to create the perfect storm that Spurs now find themselves in.

19th November 2019 at 1:28 pm #53168yep they follwed the Arsenal model to a T! and now are right in it right up to the Arsenal…just like, yep you guessed it! Arsenal! the only thing they have avoided thus far that we did on a regular basis is sell their best players each year and not only that to their direct rivals and help them win the CL
we did it with united and city bought half our squad early doors!
if the spuds start selling the likes of Kane and Erikson to united or city or something…only THEN can they be concidered the real masters of progressing as a club by going backwards!

19th November 2019 at 1:42 pm #53169Stevo, looks like Eriksen is going the same way as Ramsey too and will sign a pre contract with someone in January netting a big signing on fee and a big salary for himself with Spurs getting nothing for him.

19th November 2019 at 1:51 pm #53170I think Spurs do well based on what they spend. OK they need to spend more to make that leap but then look at Leicester on the one hand and Utd on the other. Utd spent heavily, sold heavily yet if you look at their first quarter results…big turnover but only Β£1m profit and debt increased to over Β£500m!
Leicester sell Maguire for an inflated fee spend v little in comparison yet right up there.
Spurs? Need a bigger squad ie need to spend. Is Pochettino the right man? Dont know.
What I do know is that over time you need to spend to succeed.City just published results. V close to Utd figures now but no debt.
