Do united have injuries that a player like Jones is even on the field, sheffield had so many chances they only themselves to blame and TBH the brilliant de Gea as well.

24th November 2019 at 8:30 pm #54086Maguire is a Β£30m-Β£40m player,nt a penny more.Extremely overrated just because he is English.M De Ligt cost Β£72m ffs and he is 10x Maguire is.

Just look one of last Mourinho’s press conferences. he compared United to AC Milan. which suggests a frustration with the club and Fergie. but it’s true that Fergie is a legend. but his ghost is hidering the club.

24th November 2019 at 8:38 pm #54089Sean, yes mate, you’re right. Robins was 1990 and Kenny left in 1991.
Not so much a turning point, but leaving I think Ronnie Moran in charge and then Graham Souness appointed, our first team were at that point of change.
A fair few of our players past our prime and/or were ageing.
You’re right. The Mark Robins saviour was 1990. You think about it now nearly 30 years or so down the line: Ferguson keeping his job allowed him this great lease of life to gradually rebuild Man United. His Deep Down Mantra was to knock Liverpool off their perch, but of course, he needed time.
We were to some degree burying our heads in sands thinking a ‘patch up job’ and a few wins in a row would make Liverpool Good, but that was never the case as Arsenal back then were a dominant force, Until United surged, in the early 90s, bar Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers.

24th November 2019 at 8:38 pm #54091Of course Maguire wasnt’t worth 80mil but there’s a reason Pep, arguably the best manager in the world desperately wanted him. He’s a million times better than anything we have and was very good in all the big games this season. Did well against Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester. How much do you watch us Sean, out of interest? Baffled that you don’t think Maguire has been a good signing. The likes of Jones is what we had to settle for until Maguire came in

24th November 2019 at 8:40 pm #54092Cman, to be fair that’s a long long long way from what you posted though mate. And I’m not sure how much Jose would know about the inner workings of AC Milan. Maybe Inter?

24th November 2019 at 8:41 pm #54093Think this somewhat sums things up, albeit in harsher language.
Woodward: Heβs fucking shit!
Fergie: You fucking picked him!
Woodward: You picked FUCKING MOYES!!!#mufc #SHUMUN pic.twitter.com/aQckKI78oO

24th November 2019 at 8:44 pm #54094I’m pretty sure in 1991 too, United won the Rumbelows Cup and The Cup Winners Cup.

24th November 2019 at 8:44 pm #54095Iβve wAtchrd Utd a good bit this season Ed.
Leicester were dreadful at old tarford. Poor for the palace 1st goal. Even the arsenal goal and stood still in one of the UEFA cup games when the lad headed it in. I watch a lot of football.
Liverpoolβs worst performance of the season was at old tarford. He wasnβt even tested.
Poor positional sense and heβs to slow. Ye improvement on what utd have without a doubt but I think heβs average and always have.

24th November 2019 at 8:46 pm #54096Maguire is more self-assured Ed and nicely composed. He gets the job done – but not worth that amount and Leicester milked the sale – they themselves don’t even need the money.

Not official, Jose won’t say things directly. but i posted Mourinho hinted a degree of frustration with the Fergie ghost when he gave that interview. i think it was against Burnley at home 2-2. when he went on to say that. i concluded that he was frustrated with the Fergie ghost.

24th November 2019 at 8:47 pm #54098Fair enough Sean. It’s a game of opinions. Only certain pick in England’s backline and a player Pep wanted to replace Kompany says a lot IMO. But you’re absolutely entitled to your opinion. For me, he’s been one of the only positives. Just shows how differently people see the game

24th November 2019 at 8:59 pm #54104I value your opinion greatly Sean. I always have. Almost always agree with you too but not on this occasion. I mean, of all the players you could slate at Utd, that you pick Maguire is IMO just a bit odd. We’ve tons of crap players who, in comparison, make Maguire look like Bobby Moore. But it’s a game of opinions Sean. Doesn’t mean I’m right though!

24th November 2019 at 9:13 pm #54111Cm,I don’t think so mate Jose had massive respect for Fergie and I can’t see him ever hinting at anything like that. I watched Jose’s Burnley 2-2 press Conference and there was nothing there to substantiate your claim. But it really doesn’t matter.

24th November 2019 at 9:22 pm #54116Thing about Maguire Ed is that if United needed a quality Centre back who else was there to buy who would be an improvement on what you had? That fact is proven by City’s chase for Maguire and then not buying anyone else which has left them extremely vulnerable.
The outstanding Centre back in world football is VVD but nobody is comparable to him and you can’t measure the quality of every Centre back by VVD.

24th November 2019 at 9:28 pm #54118Ed Iβm not saying he is bad at all.
I just donβt think heβs a top class centre back.
In form verthoghen, Alderweireld, Rudiger are all better defenders in my opinion.
As for England who else is there to pick? Stones? Tawroski?
Again my opinion is based on what I watch and plenty of people disagree.

24th November 2019 at 9:30 pm #54119Iβm not measuring him
Againest vvd though nine3 best centre backs in works football for our vvd, Thiago Silva and koulbily. Maguire is near none of them so Iβm
Measuring him againest the two Leicester centre backs and Egan off sheff utd who have been the stand out centre backs for me_____________________________

24th November 2019 at 9:33 pm #54121Pep Guardiola is NOT ‘Best’ Manager in the World.
A Ready-Made so and so
Some people I don’t think truly have depth of life experience and knowledge of Football.
