10th November 2024 at 10:00 am #216420That goal reminded me of Fernando Torres π Wish Nunez was a lot more like him though. And yes, we miss a number 9.

10th November 2024 at 2:24 pm #216421Nunez is a good front 3 player and works hard. But he has not been good enough to replace ManΓ©. We’ve basically spent Β£80 mill on a good squad player. Also after an initially good start, I dont think Szoboszlai is up to much. We are now very dependent on Salah – even if he drifts a bit in games, he always comes up with a goal or assist. We must have some money to spend in January. That’s not to say we should spend it for spending’s sake, but I’d be surprised if we don’t bring anyone in – particularly given that no one of major note has been signed under Slot. Personally I think we need another attacker and midfielder.

10th November 2024 at 2:26 pm #216422These guys really should be treated with the respect they deserve. Our only defeat so far at Anfield too.
Forest take the lead and in fairness, you can smell a goal coming from them.
I’m pretty sure too their Catagory A fixtures at City Ground of the up and coming matches have sold out. Nuno really brought something to this team.

10th November 2024 at 2:54 pm #216424A few quid on a Spurs comeback might be worth a punt.

10th November 2024 at 3:02 pm #216425Nuno clearly a very good manager. He was the wrong fit for Spurs.

10th November 2024 at 3:13 pm #216426Yeah, I think you’re right Mikus. Nuno’s a better fit to play more pragmatic emphasizing more on set-pieces, defending and using the counter-attack as their golden opportunity to punish opposition.

10th November 2024 at 3:32 pm #216428That has turned on it’s head and to be fair, that’s been coming from the Magpies. 2-1!

10th November 2024 at 3:43 pm #216429And that’s why you can’t take your lead for granted. Those praises for Nuno, and he’s been given a taste of this own counter-attacking medicine.

10th November 2024 at 3:50 pm #216430I know shithousery is funny when your team is winning and as annoying as Buffy after 4 shandy’s when you’re losing, but I jusr watched Ipswich swap the ball 4 times and take 80 seconds for a throw-in…

10th November 2024 at 4:02 pm #216432As bad a start as weβve had, the fact weβre only a point behind Spurs and 4 behind top 4 means this season is far from a write off just yet for us. Still all to play for.

10th November 2024 at 4:52 pm #216434Nunoβs still done a good job even if I did give them the kiss of death. Newcastle I think will come back this season after last season. Spurs what can you say? The definition of inconsistency.

10th November 2024 at 4:57 pm #216435Ed, that’s the attitude to take and you would think for a United, a new chapter after a good Van Nistelrooy send off. I still believe to an extent, it’s early days, and there is plenty of time and matches for things to change.
No fixture can be taken for granted as we’ve seen today with Spurs-Ispwich and Forest-Newcastle.

10th November 2024 at 5:08 pm #216436I thought that was more than a quickly-taken free-kick that needed to be retaken, but instead, it’s been chalked off for Offside.
I was thinking too how focused so far Cucurella has been so far with his defending.

10th November 2024 at 5:28 pm #216437It really is Chucky (a crazy table). Were Ipswich good today? Pleased to see McKenna get off the mark with their first win after the job he’s done at Ipswich.

10th November 2024 at 5:44 pm #216438They got the three points Nil, doesn’t matter if they deserved them or not… their first goal was a decent bycycle which could have gone anywhere but sneaked in about 2 inches from the post, theor 2nd goal was a result of bit of 6 yard box pinball and could have gone anywhere but also went in… we also had a peno shout for handball denied by VAR and a goal for “handball” denied by VAR, both of which I’ve seen go the “otherway” both this season and last…
67% vs 33%
552 passes vs 258
83% pass accuracy vs 66%
17 attempts vs 8
12 corners vs 2
10 fouls vs 19
0 points vs 3… πNot going to say they were “lucky”, but the footballing Gods were smiling upon them!
