2nd January 2018 at 9:45 pm #10883Paxton, not been watching the game, saw the goal at half time, had a few bits and bobs to do, had a quick glance at the TV and it just made me laugh. Itβs not dust Dele itβs all players, it never ceases to make me laugh, and then they have a Lazarus moment….Pagan

2nd January 2018 at 9:56 pm #10888Peggy… reminds me of that very old Spitting Image scene where the ref is booking Vinnie Jones for a late tackle and Vinnie is denying it in classic footballer fashion until the ref points out they’re all in the shower…

2nd January 2018 at 9:57 pm #10890I agree about the poor refs, the commentators here were all saying Ayew should have “gone down” for that penalty even though there wasn’t even any contact… and we all pillar the refs when they make a mistke!

2nd January 2018 at 9:59 pm #10891Chuckles, remember the old dancing footballers on football focus in the late 70s, think they would do that with dives, and pretending to be injured….Pagan

3rd January 2018 at 6:53 am #10892Hightown, just as ridiculous imo mate would they let a Racehorse race twice in 3 days. It’s no wonder our clubs flounder in the latter stages of the CL.

3rd January 2018 at 7:44 am #10893we want to see football every day and night, clubs nowadays have plenty of resources and too many players, that is why you have to use the squad so football can rake in more money and more enjoyment for us all. 999 a racehorse cannot be used as an example as obviously you cannot race the same horse twice a week or more but a team can play at least twice a week as they have squads to rotate and also if they dont play they in event have to train which is just as taxing if not more.

3rd January 2018 at 7:49 am #10894Going back to the ’50’s I believe that matches were played on Christmas Day and then the reverse fixture was played on Boxing Day. It obviously used to be mainly the local matches that were scheduled at this time, like Burnley v Blackburn, but that really IS a tough schedule!!
I think that is right and I’ve not made that up…perhaps Brian can confirm that did happen?

3rd January 2018 at 7:10 pm #10938Shouldn’t be like this though imo players shouldn’t be playing two games in three days.
All the major Leagues in Europe are on a mid season break even the SPL are on a mid season break.
It’s no wonder our teams often struggle in the latter stages of the CL.
