Brian, football sold its soul to TV, Broadcasters pay extortionate amounts, yet the clubs make very little if any profit, the vast majority of this money flows out of the game into players and agents pockets. The broadcasters hype up the games with pre, half-time and post match analysis, which with their obsession of trying to find fault with the referees has led to the introduction of VAR, which is yet another nail in the coffin of the game how we knew it.
It will never go back to how it was unless thereโs a total collapse of football as a TV spectator sport….Pagan
