Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept.
We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didnβt change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times.
NFFC will now consider its options.

If this is true, then I stand with Forest here.

21st April 2024 at 7:27 pm #214052It’s astonishing from a Lifetime football supporter point of view to see this unfold after a game as an Official Statement. Whether caught up in emotion etc, they clearly stand for this feeling aggrieved.
How could this possibly be proved if challenged and examined through the proper channels?

21st April 2024 at 7:43 pm #214055I find it hilarious cm but could have been 3 pens π var has to overturn at least two of them

22nd April 2024 at 11:31 am #214056They were really hard done by yesterday.
The two fouls were pens. The first one by Young was similar to the Gordon penalty at Newcastle earlier. Young kicks Reyna, in this occasion Reyna didnβt move in front of the player as he was looking to clear the ball, so no idea how that wasnβt given.
Young also goes though Hudson-Odoi for the third pen shout. Again looks a clear pen.
The Young handball was very similar to AWB yesterday. But I donβt know where their arms should have been as they were both trying to get them behind their back and out of the way.
But you canβt give one and not the other. The inconsistency is going to kill VAR.

22nd April 2024 at 12:00 pm #214057My mate on what’s app sent me something the other day which they are due to trial for offside. They need to cut out this stockley park nonsense and regulate on to the actual ground in view of the live game. It’s not difficult and they should really be competant.
On these grounds, Forest can make a case. Good luck with it though. They done nothing with Liverpool as such versus Spurs and nearly ruled out yesterday legit Jota goal. They were checking pixels and over zooming it is ridiculous.

22nd April 2024 at 12:22 pm #214058Didn’t see the game, so can’t really comment on the incidents…. but I didn’t hear Forest complaining when Buissuma got a very soft VAR awarded red playing against them earlier in the season….
Totally agree about the inconsistancy’s in VAR doing them no favors… but clubs aren’t helping themselves with the “double standard” only complaining when they feel aggreived….

22nd April 2024 at 1:04 pm #214059VAR is basically punishing trivial and petty things like someoneβs big toe being offside but then missing penalties. And thereβs this culture of not wanting to be seen to be re-refereeing the game and undermining the on field referee. I donβt think itβs fit for purpose in its current state.

28th April 2024 at 6:40 am #214209I will keep saying this after watching the shambles yesterday from our so called top officials.
The game is corrupt.
There is something not right. Gakpo incident, several incidents in the United game and the Chelsea Vs Villa game.
Officials with the technology they have in place to support them, should not be getting so much wrong.

28th April 2024 at 8:00 am #214210Ive never seen it as bad cm. This season its been truly awful. It really has and what bugs me most is you cannot celebrate a goal. I just sit there waiting for to be disallowed over something
Howard webb has actually made it worse. The handall rule is so in consistent.
Seemingly areola had an advantage yday and lost the advantage when he rolled it out and gakpo ran in. Ive no problem with that if true
Its just been dreadful this season. Just so inconsistent. Its ruined the game

28th April 2024 at 10:13 am #214211Agree Sean.
It doesn’t help that these experts of the game we call pundits move the goalposts too.
Yesterday Gernacho went down in the penalty box to a similar challenge to what Liverpool got against United. MOTD pundits were saying the Liverpool penalty was stonewall, but Gernacho was looking for it.
Everyone on MOTD unanimous that Garnacho instigated the contact hence it was not a penalty against Burnley.
So Liverpool shouldn't have been awarded this then, should they? pic.twitter.com/txsmQh3Fdl

28th April 2024 at 10:17 am #214212It seemed as though there was a mis-judgement from Anthony Taylor from what Gakpo was trying to latch on to within his own rights, but was grinded to a halt making out that the Keeper needed treatment. That seemed smoke and mirrors and a cover up.

28th April 2024 at 10:19 am #214213Yeah, it’s gotten worse. Has it now been around for 5 seasons?
Ditch it. Let’s go back to how it used to be.

29th April 2024 at 2:08 pm #214248VAR was poor on Saturday for us. It’s just the sheer inconsistency of it all.

30th April 2024 at 12:18 pm #214280Where are we this atm ? I presume Notts Forest have heard the audio ?
My take on VAR is the same as it was since it was first implemented.
The ref’s have to be miked up with the VAR and we get to hear the conversation like Rugby and Cricket

30th April 2024 at 12:32 pm #214281Re the Notts Forest VAR.The independent panel (which is made up of ex players
amongst others) ruled only one of the three decisions was an error._____________________________

15th May 2024 at 6:23 pm #214658Think too much has been invested in this now for it to be just thrown out. The semi automated offsides I think are coming in next season which may at least avoid the long waits. But the vote may still be interesting and may force some more changes. How about keeping goal line technology, semi automated offsides, and leave it at that unless there’s a blatant howler?
π¨ EXCLUSIVE: Premier League clubs to vote on proposal to scrap VAR from next season. Resolution formally submitted by Wolves to abolish system + will be on agenda at June 6 AGM. Any rule change needs 2/3s majority (14 of 20 members) to pass @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/QXK5ZgP0Ht

15th May 2024 at 9:04 pm #214659I hope they vote to scrap it, but 14 clubs will be difficult, especially when some have clearly benefited and will probably continue to do so.
Scrap it and get some trials in reserve matches etc with VAR that actually re-refs incidents. Do that away from the spotlight and iron out the creases and then it should be fit for purpose, but it canβt continue with a lottery if what is a foul / handball week to week.
