If Liverpool FC are so flush with cash why did they need to borrow over ยฃ100m from FSG to build the new stand.
I don’t think anyone cares where Liverpool got the money from to fund the circa ยฃ250m spend on those 4 key players and nobody has suggested it wasn’t Liverpool’s money.
But that investment converted Liverpool from top 4 challengers to title challengers this season and that’s indisputable and Klopp did say that he would never do it that way.?

Was anything that I said untrue or wildly inaccurate? You’re making the suggestion that what i said is incorrect, yet the evidence you offer actually has nothing to do with it at all.
“Hey, if you’re so financially stable, why did you mortgage your house?” it’s a non-statement and you’ll find that businesses and even countries will borrow vast amounts of money, even though they are “flush with cash”.
“I donโt think anyone cares where Liverpool got the money from to fund the circa ยฃ250m speny on those 4 key players and nobody has suggested it wasnโt Liverpoolโs money.”
Actually the suggestion is made every time the 380m figure is bandied around. It was actually more thna suggested to, directly referred to as “buying success”. I know where you’re going with this and I’m sorry but if people are going to make claims, I’ve every right to respond, regardless of how “tired” you are of said responses.
If you or others genuinely are tired of the topic then I’d suggest that ye stop setting the topic up again and again by comparing apples to oranges or repeating figures that are not net spend. it’s just crooked arguing but the thing is, I am not tired of this discussion and I will keep coming back for more if it’s brought up ๐
“and Klopp did say that he would never do it that way.?”
He did say this. I don’t think he was being purposefully misleading though. The game has moved on since he was in charge of Dortmund and the clubs strategies have also gone through changes. FSG “wasted” money on Rodgers and Kenny. A lot of this came good in the end but a lot didn’t. I don’t think they wanted to give Klopp the keys to the vault until they were 100% sure he was their guy.
That statement that Klopp made was true up until he said it. He made a career on that but a PL with so many MASSIVE CLUBS (I think we sometimes forget this because we’re used to looking around the table , knowing even the lower teams will be pulling in ยฃ100m from Tv money alone.)… Well, things have changed and you have got ot move with the times.
that’s one thing Klopp gets no credit for and I’m going to post about it as an unpopular opinion next ๐

3rd May 2019 at 12:02 pm #39752AnonymousUNPOPULAR OPINION :
Popular Opinion : ‘Klopp only has a plan A‘
My unpopular Opinion : ‘Klopp has all the plans and is very adaptable‘This is something that is repeated over and over whether on forums or the media. it’s generally accepted that Klopp has one way of doing things and once that fails, Liverpool stumble. If Liverpool drop points, someone says it, seriously, every time. Sometimes teams just lose. You can’t get it right every single match.
In short, we have at least 2 very strong “plans”. We can press high, harassing the opposition into making mistakes. We can also sit back and hit teams on the break. Aside from the 2 main types, we will have high possession spells and are pretty capable there also, if needs be. That’s a plan A, B and C right there and that’s only the most cursory of glances.

3rd May 2019 at 12:11 pm #39754Mak, we all buy success according to what we can afford mate. Even B&HA relatively.? I don’t have one iota of a problem with what Liverpool have spent but you aren’t poor Liverpool as some might suggest.

3rd May 2019 at 12:36 pm #39758Unpopular opinion no 1: Us fans know very little about transfers and just use the numbers quoted in the media as a stick to bash others fans with, whilst defending our own club with the same stick.
Unpopular opinion no 2: Football is on a trajectory to self combustion as the current model of fleecing everyone for as much as possible and expecting them to continue to pay is not sustainable. This will become even more apparent if/when they do some of the crazy ideas currently being floated about, like overseas matches, club specific pay per view TV, European Super League etc etc, and the fans tell them to Foxtrot Oscar and walk away.
Unpopular opinion no 3: England will have a very good team in the next 10 years if their players can play regular for their clubs.

3rd May 2019 at 3:02 pm #39774Unpopular opinion: Jose Mourinho remains a top top manager, and actually did a pretty good job at Man Utd (who could have done better than him with those players last season?) May not be everyoneโs cup of tea and he obviously has a short shelf life but I donโt buy this idea heโs outdated. At the end of the day players ultimately like being part of group in which they have no doubt about what they stand for and know exactly what their job is, no matter what the type of football being played is. Tactically very strong, great motivator, heโs a serial winner who delivers on the biggest occasions. Had Man Utd appointed him straight after Ferguson (what I expected in the years before) and given him the players he really wanted, theyโd have won the league not long after again.

3rd May 2019 at 3:05 pm #39775AnonymousNine, not one of us have suggested that Liverpool are poor. I understand not wanting to comment on some things but then don’t do so, instead of kinda shifting the position a little, which you’ve done here quite a bit today.
I get that it’s boring listening about another club constantly but it wasn’t me who brought this topic up, once again. We can and should leave the subject.
“In anyway enough for the season from me and Iโll catch you guys in the summer

What’s happened? I guess I have to go back and read some posts that I missed. Anyway, definitely don’t bail.

3rd May 2019 at 3:09 pm #39776AnonymousOOof Mikus, I mostly disagree but not in the way that you might expect. I don’t buy the rubbish that his football is outdated either, I do however think he’s as mad as a balloon and loses dressing rooms even faster than before. I don’t think he was a success at Utd. He wasn’t hired to win just domestic cups, hence being fired.

3rd May 2019 at 9:32 pm #39787Hmm, trying to piece this all together.
I’m in a good mood and life especially work is good and picking up.
The Network on this site is a similar setting to Footyplace but I think a bit smaller on Persons/Posters. There’s quite a few missed.
We have I would say a genuinely fantastic platform here and in general, good decent crop of people.
I don’t want to use the word toxic, but from day-to-day wear and tear, I sense that as there are more Liverpool fans in majority from this particular community it sparks frustration towards those that are not.
The Threads and activity tend to be of posts from Liverpool. I’m not sure where I picked this up from over the last 24 hours, but I came across the word antagonistic.
It’s done here through nature. It’s perpetual to read post projecting to be ‘fair’, but then twisted and something else. People don’t know which way to turn and they really are drained in health I would say or emotion.
Reading certain posts on this thread, and then something quite the opposite on other threads comes across two-faced and maybe confusing to people. I can’t believe too what appears to be an obsession or if anything, some form of jealously.
.
From my experience here, anyone not supporting Liverpool just make it clear and perhaps consider the simple option of just ‘agree to disagree’.The sarcasm and personal at many of time treating individuals inferior is not welcoming in the slightest. Some people post here day and night. They live here so it seems 24 hours a day 7 days a week with nothing else to do in their life. I don’t understand it personally.
A real shame losing 2 good supportive individuals in Sean. Mak has been second-to-none in a very kind individual understanding Wednesday Night. “We lost” I remember typing and boy I was in tears and he picked up on that and huge credit to him. I’m never ashamed in my life of lives in what I really feel.
We as Liverpool Supporters in particular make this ‘fuss’ because we’ve won no Major Honours for a long time and we’re coming near but falling short, it truly kills us.
Give us the daily stick no problem, but with that, allow a bit of kindness and space when the chips are down. When we write something, please don’t just assume as ‘debate’ and ‘counteract it’ and always having control and the last word 365 days. Just please allow breathing space and let it be.
