Adlab, if you do win it though, I want you to f***ing THANK us for making it interesting. If it’s us who takes the title, you bet your ass I will thank you lads.
I’m not just saying it because it’s us but this is the hardest PL title race ever. both teams are on course to break the old record (pre City last season). It just seems wrong that one will fail, after such a great effort. This is where the negativity lays I think.
On the other page, I predicted that Leicester will beat City. So remember I said this, so you can fire it back in my face for some banter, after City demolish them 😛

25th April 2019 at 5:29 pm #38861Some United fans think a season in the UL will do them good as it did for Liverpool. But I don’t think it was as easy or as simple for Liverpool to reconstruct themselves as some might think. First of all, Klopp had to get better backroom staff in from the cooks to the coaches, then he had to cut out the negative players (ie Sakho), then he had to swap out average players for quality and finally, he instilled work ethic and belief in the whole club.
Man U think being in the UL for one year will do the job, maybe it will help but its not as simple as some might think.
Before I thought it might take United less time to turn the bus around but now I’m not so sure. I haven’t really watched United this season so I took it with a pinch of salt when I heard how bad they had been. But after watching them against City I realised they are light years behind Spurs let alone City.
They look unfit and they lack a lot of technically smart players in key areas. They got a lot of strong players but they obviously don’t have the endurance to run around at high intensity for 90 minutes. No wonder they have shipped 9 goals in 8 days?
Ole has to be given time and patience – but that squad needs training as much as it needs transfers.

25th April 2019 at 5:48 pm #38862Mak. Whoever wins it deserves it. Whoever comes second this year is very very unlucky given the number of points.
One reason only I’ll be pleased if we win. To shut that Liverpool Echo and pundits up.
Liverpool have only lost once this season. Any other time it would be certain champions._____________________________

25th April 2019 at 6:10 pm #38865And without Champions League football and with Solksjaer at the helm they will find it difficult to attract the top players needed to drastically improve things. We were lucky insofar as somehow we managed to attract Klopp and in turn he attracted the players we needed. Klopp then performed his miracle on some of the existing players and bought very cleverly. OGS is not the manager, Woodward is not the DoF, Pogba is not the starman, Lukaku is not the goalscorer, and even after last night I doubt that De Gea is the keeper…to sort out the mess that is Man Utd. It’s fortunate for them that Chelsea and Arsenal are nearly as poor.
Anyway, that sounds like I’m gloating which I don’t really mean to do, but I was just gobsmacked just how poor they were last night, and what a big job they have ahead of them

25th April 2019 at 6:15 pm #38866AnonymousYa, De Gea will surely just leave Utd in the summer. I don’t think he’s enjoying himself anymore. I mean, it’s surprising that they were able to keep him even this long.

25th April 2019 at 6:36 pm #38867Rightly or wrongly, the way this United Team has been described, we ourselves were unable to bag an away win when we went there. It was a poor game too.
We wouldn’t need to be relying right now on a favour from anyone.

25th April 2019 at 6:49 pm #38869I’m with Neville on this. We didn’t get our favour, but I certainly wouldn’t lambast players the way Keane and Souness are on this and I’m driving towards being more sympathetic.

25th April 2019 at 6:53 pm #38870I agree with Keane and souness
This utd team don’t run for the cause. Most of them don’t understand what it is to play for such a big club
If I was a utd fan I’d be furious with Pogba and want him gone. Lazy shite
Ole has some job on there. They need a massive overhaul
He needs time and patience but he won’t get it
He be gone within 18 months I’d say

25th April 2019 at 7:17 pm #38872Some stat about the similarity of the similar costs to the players used on both sides last night…
? – The cost of @ManCity's players used tonight – £441m
? – The cost of @ManUtd's players used tonight – £427mRoy Keane says his former club have "slackened off" on and off the pitch in recent years and fallen behind their rivals…

25th April 2019 at 7:30 pm #38874The only thing that shocks me is the fact that you were all surprised by how poor we were. We’ve been awful all season with the exception of those first 10 or so games under Ole. Massive job ahead for Ole and I think he’ll be lucky if he’s there at Christmas.

25th April 2019 at 9:06 pm #38879Ole needs a very successful summer transfer market and a good first half of the next PL season or the pressure on him will build and build.

25th April 2019 at 9:12 pm #38880Naturally, from an LFC Supporter point of view, I rather none of our competitors or rivals were at a high threat level to us, but I can’t help but think if some out there have already dismissed Ole and predicted him not even lasting his contract, what does that then say about the vision of the club?
I get Management isn’t for everyone, but as a lifelong fan, my personal aspiration of a few of my former favourites was to go into coaching or Management and give something back.
Another Manager let’s say comes in 2020. That will then be United’s 5th Managerial Appointment (Full-Time, not including Giggsy’s interim spell) since Ferguson’s departure in 2013. It’s the same cycle too being repeat; in majority throwing a bucket load of money on players. They either are not consistently good enough or for one reason or another don’t stick around long enough.
Maybe more emphasis can be given on younger players like Scott McTominay and invest in building a team around youth. The financial expectations are high, yet expenditure to me is mismanaged like Sanchez’s Salary and handing over a 3 year Term to Ole, because should he leave United, once again another pay-out for another Manager.

25th April 2019 at 9:42 pm #38883Totally agree Newbalance. Too many expensive bad buys. Pogba is not a £90m player. Lukaku is not a £75m player. Fred not a £50m player. Sanchez not £500,000 a week. You have to direct this to the board
We have bad buys (too expensive) also. Mendy and Mahrez to name but two!_____________________________

25th April 2019 at 9:54 pm #38885Adlab, that’s true.
The Buck stops with the Board who’s allowed such decisions to be made and sanctioning example of 500k a week in Sanchez.
In essence, it’s a mess. I don’t know whether the Footballing Industry should employ Independents that can intervene into clubs to try and regulate expenditure. It’s a huge waste, and that money ultimately is coming from Supporters and ‘paying customers’ so to speak.
