As Pep rightly says both Liverpool and City deserve the title and whoever loses there should be no regrets.

25th April 2019 at 8:33 am #38828That’s the spirit Sean, glad Klopp’s speech about turning doubters into believers worked for you… Jeez…
No single incident will win/lose the league, it’s over 38 games.
Wish people would stop feeling sorry for themselves and grow up a little.

25th April 2019 at 8:36 am #38829Adlab, I was beginning to think that City’s season may be defined by two penalty misses the last minute penalty at Anfield in the PL and the penalty miss by Aguero v Spurs in the CL.
To come back after the circumstances of City’s elimination in the CL v Spurs and win the game v Spurs in the PL on Saturday and then go to OT and win the PL game v United demonstrates the resilience of this City team only Liverpool could have reacted in the same way imo.

25th April 2019 at 8:54 am #38830As much as last night was a massive high for the City fans it was a massive low for the Liverpool fans too because they like everyone else thought the best chance of City dropping points was away to United.
Hats off to all of the Liverpool fans on here who handled the disappointment of last night so well. Unfortunately not everyone is made the same way.
It’s not a done deal yet there are three games still to go and titles have swung around in much less time than that as City know very well and that’s the point that Guardiola will be making very strongly to his players probably as early as last night.
Liverpool will beat Huddersfield very comfortably on Friday. All they can do is keep putting pressure on City and Burnley are a horrible team and very obstinate but it would be a suprise if this City team as resilient as they are good let it go from here.

25th April 2019 at 9:04 am #38831Adlab, just trying to come to terms with it all. Didn’t sleep really well, – keep having some sort of a nightmare and all these teams so far I hoped that would help have let me down big time. π
I gotta get ready for work in a bit, but for now, I don’t really know what else to think π

25th April 2019 at 10:12 am #38839Anonymous“97 possible points. 30-7-lost only 1. Whereβ the justification there?”
What justification do you want? We’ve played an absolute blinder. We might get there yet but we might not. Nothing changes the fact that we’re an awesome side under Klopp and the fact is that city are an earth shatteringly good side who’ve done slightly better, so far.
You want to find some kind of justification. You won’t get it. This is football and whatever about City’s money, you’ve just got to respect them as a team. Nobody can live with them but here we are, right on their shoulders and still in the CL also.
I dont see things are being terrible right now.

25th April 2019 at 10:34 am #38844Threeps, what you going on about?
Whatβs the point is believing in something I donβt think will happen?
Iβve explained myself numerous times. I said when we dropped points at Everton that city would not drop points and that they are to good
Whose feeling sorry for themselves? Iβm not.
We are up againest an extraordinary side. Absolutely no shame in that. We have done really well
You believe and I donβt. Iβm bs king mine up with facts. We are chasing city. Itβs been out of our hands ages so I donβt get your constant digs.
Why would I think this city team would drop points? Nothing
So itβs not just saying it for the sake of it
Until we actually win something Iβll always have doubts. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that

25th April 2019 at 10:52 am #38845Mak,
I’m just gutted right now as far as football goes. Generally, my life right now is a blessing which I can only thank the person upstairs for each day and never take for granted.
I know therefore there are far far more important things in life and this is just football. But Liverpool I grew up with since I was an Infant. It’s a journey. It’s beggars belief mate why for a team being the 2nd successful in league championships how we still haven’t won the Holy Grail.
The funny thing is, we only need 2 to catch up with United and I suspect this is probably one of the reasons why we United fans don’t want us to win Title Number 19.

25th April 2019 at 10:55 am #38846Sean, I just don’t get why you and others give up at what seems every opportunity. What’s the point of watching? You say your view point is based on facts but it’s opinions, like saying there won’t be any more twists or turns.
It’s not just you, it’s not just this forum, but there’s lots of Liverpool fans all bleating on how hard done by they feel, or that it’s over, we can’t compete with moneybags City, or like your self somehow blaming one game in a season of 38 for our failure (even though we haven’t failed yet!). It pisses me off I admit. Actually it embarrasses me as I feel it taints all Liverpool fans the same as there so many like that.
I don’t mean to cause you or Oz or anyone else any insult, I just wish you’d stop saying it’s over until it actually is over.

25th April 2019 at 10:56 am #38848Sean, mathematically it’s still possible mate, but I think it’s the Leicester result I look back at where the points were dropped at Anfield.
Everton and United back to back were never going to be easy for us.
To be fair on the flip side, we’ve have our fair share of good luck too like the Mahrez missed pen, Pickford, Speroni, even the Saint’s Keeper on Naby Keita’s header, so maybe from that point of view, we can’t complain too much.

25th April 2019 at 11:10 am #38849I think I can judge football well threeps but your rights itβs only my opinion
People keep saying there be more twists and turns but city arenβt dropping points
Iβve never mentioned cities money once. City are a top top class side and my opinion ion is based on them not letting it slip when it really comes down to it
I cannot see them dripping any more points and I said that from after our Everton game
No offense taken at all mate.

25th April 2019 at 11:25 am #38852Whatever happens in the title race Liverpool have had a fantastic season and contributed to a fantastic title race.
If Liverpool can navigate their way past Barca and I think Liverpool will be a challenge for Barca there’s every chance they will win the CL.

25th April 2019 at 12:35 pm #38853Itβs been a bit of a Prost Senna battle this season between Liverpool and City. City akin to Senna are/were supremely talented and are hard to catch once theyβre in the lead, though they were/are still prone to wobbles and nobody is perfect.
Liverpool have been the more careful like Prost, racking up lots of points but just not quite as ruthlessly.
There are pros and cons with each and those two drivers clearly showed the different kinds of champion you can have. One, a bold ruthless one. The other, a strong but more careful opportunistic one, waiting for just one mistake.
Fascinating to see such a contrasting battle play out this season – this has been the real winner this year.

25th April 2019 at 2:16 pm #38856Anonymoustoday, I had a Utd fan texting me trying to wind me up.
It didn’t go well for him and that’s all based around some sentiments shared here. We might end the season with nothing but you can look at so many things and be proud, or optimistic for the future. having only lost once, on course for a points tally that Fergie never achieved.
Liverpool are an insanely good team right now and I would say we’re top 5 in the world at this moment. maybe some neutrals will disagree, if so I’d like to hear who pushes us out of it. We’ve done exceptionally well in the 2 big tournaments so far, so I’m pleased.
I can totally understand the negative opinions because I sometimes share them. I don’t see people saying it’s over as being an embarrassment. I might wanna convince them that it isn’t but ya..
we’d all love the PL title and we seem to have kinda forgotten the CL, I mean jesus… Imagine winning that again!? 2005 was incredibly special to me as a fan. I would absolutely love repeating it, maybe without going 3-0 down this time. We’ve barca soon and I honestly think we’ve a great chance. I don’t buy this idea that Barca are gonna run a train over us. I guess we’ll see.
As for the PL, let’s get those 97 points, that’ll be all we can do. I think we’ve got to try and enjoy it though because if we suddenly turn it all around, our fond memories of this season will just actually be misery, with a twist at the end.
