Didn’t think the Pool defense was that bad Goose, Robertson in particular I thought was superb, to be honest. Nobody could have done a thing about the 2nd goal… won’t bother commenting on the 1st or 3rd… no need to… but I wouldn’t say Pool’s D was bad, just the goalie having a mare.

27th May 2018 at 10:18 am #22244I’m worried at the extent of Mo Salah’s injury as it’s serious and whether or not he’ll recover in time for pre-season training or even the new season?
We need to seriously start thinking about a few top players and back up players as we are in reality thin.

27th May 2018 at 10:25 am #22246Kylie-VVD and Robertson are class, but Lovren is a fecking joke.He is good enough playing his trade in Serie A or the Bundesliga but not for a team chasing titles in the EPL!

27th May 2018 at 10:31 am #22249Ed-Even if Zidane retires tomorrow, he will remain a very successful manager,a manager who won the CL 3 times in a row! It seems Real Madrid and the CL are made for each-other.

27th May 2018 at 10:59 am #22253I sincerely hope UEFA take a look at this with seriousness. This is just pure X rated cynical form of a wrestling move to get our best player injured. Salah is in tears from the pain inflicted. You cannot allow that in a game of football and Zidane has gone down for me in my estimation as I thought he was a tidy man of class.

27th May 2018 at 11:14 am #22257Ramos didn’t set out to injure Salah it was a coming together Ramos had his arm around Salah’s so it was a foul but there was no deliberate attempt to injure Salah. Football is a contact sport and these things happen.

27th May 2018 at 11:16 am #22258If you want to be really pedantic about it, do note Salah was hanging onto Ramos’s arm at the very beginning…

27th May 2018 at 11:17 am #22259The Sun headline on their back page today summed the game up perfectly in three words
“Clangers and Smash.”!

27th May 2018 at 11:32 am #22263I feel sad for Liverpool but lessons have to be learned. Teams like RM always have it in there capability to step up a gear. Liverpool have to learn to play without a star player. The players heads went down when they should have been doubling there efforts, however, I know this is not easy but the fact is Liverpool must learn to play without Salah at some games next season or you will be chasing again. As to keepers. I do feel sorry for the guy but they were really schoolboy errors and it cost you The first half was good for you but always had the feeling Liverpool lacked confidence, RM knew this and exploited it. Try again next season lads, the experience will serve you well

27th May 2018 at 11:36 am #22264Until Salah went off Liverpool were more than in it. Without him they looked a bit lost. I think the psychology of losing him had the greatest impact.
Liverpool fans should place this defeat firmly at Klopps door. Any football fan could see a keeper weakness BEFORE the season started. We had a problem and replaced Bravo.I know you wont like me saying this but I think Liverpool used up their good fortune against City and Roma and had terrible luck last night. I felt for the fans who had made the long trip to Kiev to lose in that way. Cant imagine how bad they felt!

27th May 2018 at 12:07 pm #22267Something visibly apparent in how Zidane was armed with a Managerial team.
Jurgen Klopp looked a lone figure and I really felt for him. I can’t help but collate this to the absence of Zeljko Buvac and how important his own role, input and support would have been.
It is extremely unfortunate and sad. I don’t know whether he’s left for good or whether he will return, but something clearly not right in that department.
Despite our wonderful supporters, that place felt to me lonely for Klopp and the Redmen.

27th May 2018 at 12:10 pm #22268We come along way beating teams of high quality that we didn’t expect to beat over 2 legs, like Porto, Manchester City and Roma.
Our group phase of games spoke volumes and we finished top with not one registered defeat. All we had to do was beat Real Madrid to reach the Apex.
Had that been achieved last night, this for me would have been Liverpool’s greatest ever European Cup campaign. Misfortune though in abundance, it’s beggar’s belief.

27th May 2018 at 12:19 pm #22270A painful memory all in all the way I see it, re May 26, which obviously has not gone down well and a day after our historic achievement back in 2005 – remembered for all the wrong reasons.
The World Cup at the very least will take our minds away from our day-to-day domestics.

27th May 2018 at 12:31 pm #22271Brian @ 11:32, good call and totally agree.
Our game in percentages is based using our strengths which is of course our attack and that being Salah.
Although the intensity wasn’t the high octane many anticipated from the start, I felt we did pretty good up until that Salah injury.
That for me effectively changed the dynamics because although Lallana did come on, he was no Phillipe Coutinho or Luis Suarez. We simply don’t have that type of depth in quality on the bench.
You could then see a ripple effect from the impact of this because other playing positions knew they would have to step up and work that little bit more hard. This filtered through to Karius who eventually felt the pressure and had lost his concentration/focus.
Knowing the ball is going to be spent on the opposing area of the pitch is of more of comfort. I didn’t really have any fault as far as our defenders were concerned, but we lacked that confidence and leadership we desperately needed in Louis Karius.

27th May 2018 at 4:25 pm #22276Mav, I didn’t say I read the Sun I don’t but I saw the ” Clangers and Smash” headline this morning on their back page and I thought it was clever and summarised the game perfectly. Cheers 999
