True saying about Karius and the Premier League. There’s no way he’ll be stepping back in a Liverpool shirt.
He’ll probably and easily crumble to abuse from the Opposition fans.
It’s not as though too, he’s an outfield player where he can score a goal or two to rectify and silence those people.
Nope, it’ll be more tougher being rooted between the sticks.

28th May 2018 at 4:01 pm #22341Think Karius has played his last game but I don’t want to see a young guy victimised. He’s only one guy who needs to come to terms with it and rebuild his career. He pulled on a Liverpool shirt and did his best and the way he came up to us all at the end of the match is credit to him.
He won’t walk alone but all the sane he just isn’t good enough yet. He won’t get any better as our number 2, he needs to play.

28th May 2018 at 4:09 pm #22343We started well but faded badly after Salah went off. Rotten luck for that to happen. Two bad mistakes by the keeper who I feel really sorry for but he’s not good enough
Klopp has now lost 6 finals. That’s a horrible record. Love watching us play. Every game we go out to win but we just don’t turn up for finals
Lovren, mane and Robertson turned up. Others did ok but it’s not enough in a final
We stopped pressing when Salah went off
Madrid took over.far to expierenced for us and we were outclassed. If people are honest we played nothing like we can
No interest in the World Cup. Done with football for a while so enjoy the summer and see you next season

28th May 2018 at 4:14 pm #22344We showed a little too much respect. Maybe Salah being roughed up shook a few of us mentally, but you’re right Sean: Mane, Robertson, Firmino, Van Dijk didn’t show any signs of crumbling.
The mistake re Benzema, I could live with and even with wonder-Bale, we were only 1 goal behind and could have forced extra-time.
Why or why then, did Karius fumble? That is bread and butter that’s what’s irked a lot of people.

28th May 2018 at 4:18 pm #22345Squad depth was the key
If we’d kicked Ronaldo out the game Real Madrid wouldn’t be deciding between Danny Ings or Lallana to bring on.
We were better with our first eleven but we’re second best after Salah went off
We did well to keep key players fit enough to get there in the first place so can’t compkain

28th May 2018 at 4:23 pm #22346Some out there have pointed that out and it’s a valid one too.
They can pull out Bale, where as we had Lallana. Shame we had no Ox and Emre Can.
3 finals lost now which is a big wound to live with.
The World Cup couldn’t come sooner to erase our minds from this.

28th May 2018 at 4:50 pm #22349I can understand the frustrations of the Salah injury and making Ramos the villain and true eniugh his reputation goes before him but here’s my views on why Liverpool lost.
The luck ran out even the Bale goal which was a worldie 9 times out of 10 would have gone over the bar and you can throw the bad luck of the Salah injury into that too.
Squad is too thin plus the injuries didn’t help.
Liverpool are overly reliant on Salah and the players lacked belief after the Salah injury.
Karius is not good enough is full of mistakes and Klopp should have signed a quality Keeper last Summer, Karius gifted Real two goals.
Klopp looked all alone on the line and completely isolated and he has lost his No 2 which can’t have helped.

28th May 2018 at 6:32 pm #22352It’s a good point Beni about depth and I do think it’s something Liverpool will look to address in the summer. Really looking forward to seeing who everyone brings in

28th May 2018 at 7:20 pm #22355I think Liverpool fans, now the disappointment has died down, should be asking questions about Klopps transfer policy. Why did he not sign a decent keepet? Pep got stick from tbe fans over Bravo. We got a better keeper. The club received a huge fee from the sale of Coutino. Why not get a keeper? Is it the owners? Is it Klopp?

28th May 2018 at 7:31 pm #22357Nine @ 4:50, I know we don’t always see eye-to-eye on a lot of matters, but that effectively is an accurate summary from yourself of the entire affair.
I still feel aggrieved in the way we shot ourselves in the foot. It’s not even a Sunderland Beachball! But how does a Goalkeeper on such a big occasion make those type of errors?
If you think in an example of preparing a Wedding, and during a ceremony, say as Best Man, you are on your guard throughout to ensure the day top to toe runs smoothly.
Every player from the first whistle till the last has to operate that way until the job is done. There is no room for complacency. Maybe something out there could have come from our Captain, though in essence, a great team is filled with more than one player to lead the way and one of the player positions which is the spine is your GK. No room for the faint hearted; Karius got founded out and we paid a hefty price.

28th May 2018 at 8:20 pm #22364Nil, I still can’t believe the first mistake by Karius did it lead to the second mistake? I’m not sure it did because Karius almost did the same v Roma and got away with t then but everyone inc Klopp knew that Karius had those sort of mistakes in him.
Massive error by Klopp imo firstly not to buy a top Keeper last Summer and secondly to restore Karius to be No 1 you can’t give a team like Real two goals especially in a CL Final. Cheers 999

28th May 2018 at 8:51 pm #22367I was just thinking about targets and away from the obvious names. Adding to our squad, what about Jack Grealish of Villa? Only 23 and he’s a sort of a Adam Lallana type of player, though he does show aggression.
Wolves’ Neves is staying as is Diogo Jota. Not sure about Allison as Karius’ replacement. There was talks a couple of weeks or so ago about an audacious swoop for Buffon.
I read in the express re Bale about him going for Liverpool instead of Man U. That’s the Marquee type of signing I would love.
Some comfort thinking about potential transfer targets. The importance of it all is that like our defensive situation at the time, GK is addressed with a finished article.
