So, next transfer window opens day after this season finishes, and shuts on October 5th!!
Don’t remember when the next season starts though… who knows that?

15th July 2020 at 3:22 pm #128960Dunno… they’ll get the ball rolling for sure, but I think a lot of clubs are really playing the “poverty” card right now as a bit of a “neogotiating tactic”.
It’s going to start really slow, that’s for sure.

15th July 2020 at 3:27 pm #128964Chuky..my view on high/low transfer fees is usually set by the Seller. If they get there price the buying club, even after negations are deemed the “baddie” for inflating transfer fees. Well I guess there is one happy party.

20th July 2020 at 1:13 pm #132101Very good Nine!
Right move for the lad. We couldn’t have offered him much game time or a guarantee of CL football so he’s gone to the right club.

20th July 2020 at 7:02 pm #132243AnonymousChelsea being very crafty in signing everyone we’d have gone after had the virus not killed our coffers. credit to them but damn them also π
Chelsea’s one remaining issue is their defence. Im not sure whether that means they need players or defensive work on the training ground but if they can stop conceding so many goals, they’ll challenge for the title next season.

20th July 2020 at 8:49 pm #132279Mak, nothing crafty about it buddie the players Chelsea are signing/ are looking to sign are well known to all Clubs everyone is fishing in a very small pool for top quality players.
I’m pretty sure whichever offensive players Chelsea sign they will in addition look to strengthen defensively in the Summer window.
Chelsea’s advantage in this window is that they started off with Β£140m in the Bank from the Hazard and Morata sales and bonus payments on Hazard and selling Pasalic have just added to that.

21st July 2020 at 2:10 pm #132580Anonymousjust heard that Southampton want 35m for hjobjerg who has a year left on his contract and wants out. that’s fucking mental. they’ve already rejected 25m from Everton for him so it seems they’ll probably get it which is just crazy. been heavily linked with spurs but there’s no chance levy will pay that even though he is exactly what we need even though he isn’t a world beater.

21st July 2020 at 2:12 pm #132581Anonymous999 – I think following the city acquittal Chelsea are going to spend big. there is no punishment for breaching FFP and Chelsea now know that.

21st July 2020 at 3:32 pm #132606Not sure about that Paxton. I don’t think City were cleared of wrong doings by CAS some of the charges were time barred and others it was considered there wasn’t enough evidence to justify the ban. And City received a significant fine for non co operation in the investigation.
Given the above I don’t think that means Clubs won’t be punished for breaking FFP rules in the future providing UEFA have got all their ducks in a row and Clubs will no longer try to live within the rules.
Chelsea have always followed FFP rules religiously since their conception and I don’t think will change although UEFA may well look to amend FFP going forwards too.
Even if Chelsea buy Harvetz after the Werner and Ziyech signings the monies received for the Hazard, Morata and Palasic sales together with the additional Hazard bonuses will pretty much cover all three signings.
Further signings in the main are likely to have to be funded predominantly by player sales out both fringe players like Emerson etc who is currently seemingly close to moving and more significant players like perhaps Jorginho etc.
And of course Chelsea are sitting on probably in excess of Β£150m of transfer monies in whilst if Chelsea sign Havertz for say circa Β£70m on say a 7 year contract as an example the actual cost of that transfer to the Club next season would be Β£10m.

22nd July 2020 at 9:38 am #132906Would be worrying if that is true, kinda thought we had that one in the bag. Until I see him holding the shirt and saying “Once I heard Everton were in for me, there was no other choice, it’s been a dream of mine ever since I played for Byarn Munich…” I still think he’ll end up at the Lane… π

22nd July 2020 at 12:56 pm #133088“Tottenham are under pressure to increase their offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after Southampton indicated they had accepted a Β£25million bid from Everton for the midfielder.
Tottenham’s own offer is thought to be some way below Saints’ valuation of the 24-year-old but Spurs have not given up hope of signing Hojbjerg, who has indicated a preference for moving to north London.
Spurs were hoping to use Kyle Walker-Peters, who is impressing on loan at St. Mary’s, as a makeweight but Saints would prefer to keep the deals separate, with the right-back confident of securing his own move even if Hojbjerg joins Everton.” Standard 22/07
