Be an interesting appointment and a somewhat surprising one. I’d have thought he’d have preferred the day to day management of club football. I do rate him though and with the players he has there is potential there.

15th October 2024 at 7:56 pm #215955Football style wasn’t the best, but hopefully he picks the best team rather than the best 11 players regardless of positions.

15th October 2024 at 8:02 pm #215956Indeed Alfie. Best team vs best players is something we’ve suffered from for decades.

15th October 2024 at 8:29 pm #215957This means Pep rejected the job.
Surprised they didn’t go for Poch. Tuchel seems to land these top jobs a lot, he is a hot head and seems to fall out with players and staff easily. This isn’t going to end well imo.

16th October 2024 at 10:31 am #215958I wanted Pep. I saw online footage of his half-time talk to Man City when they were in a loosing position to Southampton. The account he gave and the context really was something that you wouldn’t hear too often from other Managers. A different way to rip into his players underperforming.
He would give these players a kick up the backside they need and I have no doubt he would bring Football home.
Yep, I think he’s been approached and he’s declined.

16th October 2024 at 12:40 pm #215963Not sure about this at all… always thought any interntational manager should at least abide by the same rules as the players at the very least otherwise it feels like cheating.
Still, he’s possibly the best manager out there who’s available so kudos for that at least.

16th October 2024 at 9:32 pm #215964He’s had thrown at him the Question of whether he will sing the National Anthem.
I think Tuchel will. It’s probably all the politics and pleasing people he’s conscious of, but if somebody ultimately has come forward to commit themselves, then Welcome Aboard Thomas Tuchel.

17th October 2024 at 7:49 am #215967Not sure if watching a German sing “God Save The King” is better than at least having him stand up for his own “opinion” on the matter…

17th October 2024 at 8:44 am #215970Well it’s a German singing about ‘God’ saving someone of German heritage. “God save Charles Saxe-Coburg-Gotha!” as he should be called. Wonder what Adlab would have thought on this!
As a manager I said I didn’t want him at Liverpool. He’s pragmatic, and most likely more talented than Southgate, so he could win things. Just don’t expect to be entertained.
