20th February 2018 at 6:16 pm #16070Chucky, Real are 17 points behind Barca and 10 points behind Atletico in second place and were knocked out of the Copa Del Rey by Leganes losing 1-2 at the Bernabeau in the Qtr Finals and going out on the away goals rule.
Real might be only having a blip but seemingly Perez doesn’t think it is a blip and is planning significant actions in the Summer which may also include the departure of Zidane
What they get for departing players and who they may be is currently open to conjecture.

20th February 2018 at 10:21 pm #16121AnonymousHow long ago did Madrid buy Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldo or Figo? Not recently and not for the sums being talked about now.
Most clubs can spend £30-40m on a player and see them leave / retire on a free after 5 years, not many can spend £150-200m and let them do that.
It will be now or never for Hazard.

20th February 2018 at 10:49 pm #16126You are forgetting that when Real paid a world record fee for Zidane, he was 29 years old( born 23 June 1972). joined them August 2001. for a while he was the most expensive player in the world. when they bought Figo from Barcelona, he was 3 months away from 28 ( born 4 November 1972), joined them August 2000. when they bough Beckham from United, he was 28 years ( born 2 May 1975 ) and joined August 2003. do your maths. £46m was at the time equivalent to the £200m that PSG has paid for Neymar today.

21st February 2018 at 8:27 am #16132But that that was equivalent to what PSG has paid for Neymar. thick back the clock to 2000/01 and you will see the £46m that Madrid paid for Zidane was unheard of it was a world record fee. and many were saying at the time that it will take some beating to break that record. 17/18 years later. we are talking about a quarter of a billion as the world record. it shows a lot of depreciation in the money. i think what PSG has paid for Neymar is equivalent of what Madrid has paid for Zidane in 2001. both them had been records in their respective time. and i think that is my point.

21st February 2018 at 10:13 am #16140AnonymousGot to laugh at the Real press and club to be honest. If CFC is a team in disarray, its not a patch on Madrid this season.
The league form is so poor that they are desperate to sign anyone. Hazard, Courtouis, Neymar, all distracting from the fact that if Spain didn’t have five clubs in the Champions league they wouldn’t be qualifying for it next year.
Money is money and todays fees are a result of the TV deals, when they realise the value of the product and the fact that broadcasters are being bent over barrels.. They’ll refuse to pay.
Last night was a case in point with BT showing the football. Made it that much harder to even bother with football… Listened to it on the radio.

21st February 2018 at 10:22 am #16144AnonymousThe other thing of note regarding the Zidane fee is that he, and most of the others (Beckham aside) was it the very top bracket of player. Hazard is currently in the bracket below that, imo. £200m for Neymar, who is younger, better and far more marketable doesn’t mean Hazard is worth the same.
Just my opinion though.

21st February 2018 at 10:30 am #16146Alfie transfer fees are decided by what the selling club is prepared to sell at and how much the buying club want the player and are prepared to pay.
The media have reported that Real are prepared to offer £100m plus Bale which is probably heading towards £200m if true.
Chelsea will be reluctant sellers and if Real don’t come close to their valuation the move will stall imo which will delight the majority of Chelsea fans.
Plenty of water to flow under this particular Bridge yet.

21st February 2018 at 11:15 am #16147Zidane will be worth twice what Neymar is worth in today’s market. Besides that in a market where De gea is worth £80m, Asensio cannot leave for £133m. I think the Hazard fee is justified IMO. Coutinho has left for £146m. This is first season Neymar is the talisman at a top club. Let us see how he delivers. Its easy to hide behind Leo Messi and perform. But that said its the market inflation that is the result of the price. If Asensio cannot leave for the £133m that Liverpool has tabled in January. Then Hazard should be £200m simple. And just to remind you between Neymar and Hazard there is only 12 month age gap. Hazard born on 07-01-1991. Neymar born on 05-02-1992.?

21st February 2018 at 11:30 am #16149Transfer fees are an ever moving target nobody predicted £200m for Neymar last Summer and nearly £150m for Coutinho in January and seemingly Liverpool bid £135m for Asensio in January too against that background I doubt Hazard will go for less than £150m but the buying club and the selling club determine the values.
Chelsea are recognised as being tough negotiators especially on transfers out and will be very reluctant sellers of Hazard so if Real don’t meet or come close to the club’s valuation then they won’t sell him.
The reality is none of us know what Hazard will go for and we only have the recent transfers as a guideline. What will be will be.

21st February 2018 at 11:58 am #16151999-It is the player/s who hold the power/s now mate.We all know that, not the selling club, not the manager, not the owners! If a player is desperate for a move then he will hand-in a transfer request,or if refused by the club, down tools and not perform.

21st February 2018 at 12:02 pm #16152Alfie-Real Madrid are been linked with a move for R.Lewandovski, who will be 30 next summer, and for whom Bayern are not willing to sell for less than £120m-apparently! So paying £150m for Hazard would not seem too big of a problem imho!

21st February 2018 at 1:22 pm #16156AnonymousOf course transfer fees are agreed between the buying and selling clubs. My point is that it is demonstratively true (as most are proving! ;-)) to say that Madrid have not spent £150m – £200m on a player who is 28 years old. So it would seem to be a make or break summer transfer window for Hazard should he want to move to Madrid as a) Chelsea will want a huge fee for him next summer and b) Madrid (imo) will not pay the fee next summer considereing the age he will be. Most on here seem to agree.
Mav – take what any press says with a large dose of salt. I’ll be astonished if Lewandowski leaves for Madrid for £120m. The press just make up nonsense in the hope that people buy it.

21st February 2018 at 1:35 pm #16159Alfie-Of course, but on the other hand there are very few world class strikers now available, especially if you consider the fact that Spurs are demanding astronomical fee for Kane, and Torino the same for Belotti.

21st February 2018 at 1:40 pm #16160Real haven’t made any really big signings over the last couple of seasons but the market has changed considerably since they signed Bale for £85m.
Chelsea fans will be delighted if Real won’t pay the fee Chelsea demand as no one wants him to go.
All unknowns though, Hazard could even sign a new Chelsea contract before the Summer, having said that if a deal is going to happen it’s quite possible all three parties have already reached an understanding.
Chelsea allegedly looking at replacements for Hazard?
