Mav – Who’d have Sturridge now, I’m afraid? Markovic – well, as you say, remember them? Unfortunately, football clubs around Europe appear to have forgotten him also! (with good reason, I may add) As for Origi, well we may get a few quid for him, but he’s hardly pulling up trees on his loan at Wolfsburg, so £15-20m at the most I would guess.
As for Migs, Dejan, Albie and Klavan – well, I can possibly see Moreno staying as a back-up to Robertson, Migs is on his way definitely, Klavan we’ll get no money for though as a fouth or even fifth choice I wouldn’t be unhappy keeping him, and then there is the enigma that is Lovren. Alongside VVD he has actually looked really good – maybe he just needed bossing around on the pitch and the chance to play as the right sided centre back instead of left. As Mak said in a post, you always feel there is a mistake around the corner from him, but I thought he was excellent against Porto, and his role appears to now be the centre back who attacks the ball, while VVD is more of the covering defender. The jury is still out, but considering he was on Death Row as far as most Liverpool fans were concerned, it’s some comeback from him!
So I still say £120m max, regardless of any sales, unless of course there is a disaster and we sell our Egyptian king!!

16th February 2018 at 5:56 pm #15794Don’t be an asp!
I don’t really understand your question. Are you asking whether how we finish this season will have an impact on our spending in the summer?

16th February 2018 at 6:45 pm #15798Ah OK. Still can’t see it making much of a difference. What is the financial difference between 2nd and 3rd as a matter of interest?
PS did you miss my asp joke? OK a very little joke but was just trying to keep the Egyptian pharaoh thing going!

16th February 2018 at 6:57 pm #15800Not at all mate, hence me using pharaoh instead of a king.
No idea how much the difference it is mate, but plus with the turnover,I expect EVERY team in the EPL to spend massively again.Real Madrid DID confirm to have rejected a e150m bid from Liverpool for Asensio in January,so I guess there is plenty more money left for the summer!

17th February 2018 at 8:16 am #15806I think we are we are his likely destination. given that Real are preparing to take Hazard from our hands. then Asensio has already said that he will leave if they sign Hazard. and Sergio Ramos said that he is in a house hunting in London. personally my preference is to retain Hazard, but it looks likely it will be difficult. so getting Asensio will soften our blow. although he is a raw talent. but so was Hazard we signed from Lille. and Real is said to be prepared to let Isco leave this summer. i hope we rush to conclude that deal.

17th February 2018 at 8:29 am #15810It’s sad to see what’s happened to Sturridge in Liverpool’s title challenging season admittedly alongside Suarez and Sterling he looked the best striker in England but injuries have robbed him of his career.
As Hightown says nobody will pay decent money for him now and who would take a chance even on a play and pay basis.

17th February 2018 at 8:32 am #15811Courtois and DGea at £100m. Wow we paid £35m for Ederson and he has been amazing this season. He had a blip at Anfield but that aside he has been brilliant. I have never seen a keeper distribute ie pass the ball with such confidence and so cooly as he does.

17th February 2018 at 8:34 am #15812You just can’t tell with the transfer window so far away but if Hazard goes to Real I think Chelseaman is right Chelsea will be favourites to get Asensio and or Isco and Isco is big buddies with Morata too.

17th February 2018 at 10:01 am #15818So, now it’s Vicky’s turn to be linked to a move to Pool!! So, since Tuesday, that’s Vicky to Pool, Moose to China, Erik to Juve, Kane to Madrid, Toby to YooUtd…. I hope we don’t beat Rochdale, we might even get Weirdy Beardy to City headline…. although that lot would probably pay for the stadium I suppose… 🙂

17th February 2018 at 10:24 am #15822According to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Real have tabled a swap deal for Hazard.
Florentino Perez wants to reduce Chelsea’s asking price for the Belgium star and the Real president is willing to let Isco, Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema go in a player-plus-cash move.
Diario Gol say Perez wants to get rid of the three Real stars and he’s keen to use one of them to complete the Hazard deal.
Chelsea’s favoured player out of the trio is said to be Spain international Isco.
