9, I expected more of you, The Manchester Evening News and RM papers are trying their hardest to get Toby to Utd or Madrid, all the rags and I include the Mail have jumped on the bandwagon.
As soon as I see “reportedly”, or “sources close to the club” or “it’s claimed” I don’t bother reading on.
I would be very surprised if he has a buy out clause as nobody else has Levy has made sure of that ,as for his salary again it’s made up bollocks unless Toby rang The Sun and told them.
As for not going to Italy for the CL match Mo has already explained that one game vs Newport was not enough to get his match fitness to the required level.
I am sure if not this weekend certainly the following one he will be back in the team.
If I was pushed on will he leave, right now I don’t believe he will , but what do I know._____________________________

15th February 2018 at 6:14 pm #15718No doubting the clause is there, cyber chum, the point I was trying to make was Toby’s team what a similar clause in the NEW contract and Spuds don’t, and by all accounts he’s been offered the same 110k a week (cough) that apparently everybody in England thinks is Spuds top whack…

15th February 2018 at 6:38 pm #15719AnonymousChucky I stand corrected, I do know a club rep who’s been there for 20+ years and last summer he claimed that no player had a release clause, lying bastard.

15th February 2018 at 6:57 pm #15720I might be wrong Bricky, but Toby’s current clause has been pretty well reported for a couple of years now (along with a fair few comments about Toby not exactly stressed about things and happy to sign, no plans to leave etc…)… personally I do find myself somewhat surprised at the timing of this new round of “mischief” headlines right after a brilliant performance, mixed in with the Moose to China shenanigans…
But doing my best Goldie impression…”It’s a funny old game and we’ll never know, time will tell…” 🙂

15th February 2018 at 8:59 pm #15725TBA, reportedly there is no buy out clause until/if Spurs activate the one year extension clause in his contract.
Putting aside what Spurs may or may not be offering in terms of salary Alderwierald is 29 in a couple of weeks so I can understand Spurs not wanting to give him a 5 year deal and if he were to move I’m not sure too many would be prepared to offer a 5 year contract either.
Chelsea for instance if they were interested in him wouldn’t offer a 5 year contract to a 29 year old.
You may be right and all of the press may have got it wrong or as you say it may be a press plot to get him to Manchester or Real or as Chucky says it might be part of a press conspiracy to bring Spurs down after a brilliant performance.
As Chucky rightly says time will tell. Cheers 999

15th February 2018 at 9:02 pm #15726Or it might be his agent/s playing the oldest trick in the book to get him the contract he wants?

16th February 2018 at 9:46 am #15743AnonymousIt looks like Liverpool are very serious about signing Alisson Becker. I have only seen Youtube clips of him but i think you can get a good idea about keepers in highlights clips (as opposed to outfield players).
I have to say, this guy is damn impressive. He makes himself big, has amazing reflexes. I see that he will rush out, so this really suits Liverpool. There is one little concern I have about him is that although he can make a really impressive reflex save, it’s how he controls the ball back into play that worries me. Now, some of these situations are ones where he’s lucky to get a hand to them at al, so give him a break but. .
either way, this guy can make saves that our keepers cant, even Migs (who is a good shot stopper) but he seems to have other qualities that we really need also. I think Liverpool will go all out to get him. and if he’s as good as he looks here, then I’d have absolutely no problem with that.

16th February 2018 at 2:49 pm #15768Can’t see us paying that much for a keeper, but it is certainly one of the positions that we will definitely be spending money on in the summer.

16th February 2018 at 3:26 pm #15774Be a shame to spoil all the uncertainty. ?
However…….
“Jurgen Klopp is ready to abandon plans to pursue Roma goalkeeper Alisson as Loris Karius’ hopes of establishing himself as the long-term Liverpool number one have increased.
Liverpool are likely to need another keeper at the end of the season as the recently demoted Simon Mignolet is sure to seek first team football elsewhere.
But with Karius showing encouraging form since being confirmed as undisputed first choice, a massive outlay on a new keeper is increasingly unlikely.
Liverpool have been left in no doubt how much it would cost to secure Brazilian international Alisson, his Italian club suggesting only a world record fee would trigger negotiations.
Klopp is not interested at values suggested to be as much as £70 million, especially as his instinct is to give Karius a prolonged chance to secure his position. Daily Telegraph.

16th February 2018 at 4:29 pm #15784I think it is very early to be talking Karius up as securing the No 1 position on a permanent basis. He’s had a couple of half decent games, that is it.
Mav – like it or not (and I don’t) Liverpool haven’t got as big a budget as some of our rivals, and I just can’t see him blowing £70m on a keeper, Coutinho money notwithstanding. My prediction is that he won’t spend more than a ‘measly’ £100-120m in the summer, and out of that he has to get another midfielder to replace Can, a back-up striker to replace Sturridge, a back-up winger in case God forbid Salah or Mane blow up, and possibly a reserve left back, as well as a keeper, first choice or not. I may be wrong but £70m on a keeper wouldn’t fit with our finances.

16th February 2018 at 5:11 pm #15786Hh-Surely Liverpool hope to get a few £££ from the sales of;Sturridge,Origi,Markovic[remember them?],plus Klopp has to realise that the likes of Mignolet,Lovren,Moreno,Klavan, are a waste of space, and get rid of them?!
