Nil, you can’t go on like this buddie randomly attacking posters who might not share your views. This is a football forum and everyone will have an opinion and they won’t all reflect your opinions that’s the whole point of a forum.
A bit of reflection is needed mate before you end up burning all your bridges.

25th March 2018 at 11:13 am #18688Nine, I understand that – just get wound up at times and frustrated when there’s no common ground or something to share – nothing personal towards anybody.

25th March 2018 at 11:22 am #18690Nil, the common ground is that we like to discuss football.
If we didn’t put forward opinions that challenge the opinion of the opening post, it wouldn’t be much of a forum.
And it does seem personal on your part when you call people nasty and horrible.

25th March 2018 at 11:28 am #18694For what it’s worth, I always thought Wee Phil was a bit overrated, never looked close to being MOM whenever he played the Spuds, and was mightily surprised when they got the wedge they did, and most obviously of all I never watched him week-in, week-out.
I will say this though, doesn’t look like Pool are missing him much, do they? Buy a couple of real decent players for the wedge they got him, I’d say good business all round!
As for Nil for doing a NIl, leave him be chaps. It wasn’t the first, nor will it be the last. He can be a bit of a plonker, but that’s why we love him!

25th March 2018 at 2:38 pm #18705AnonymousCoutinho’s last year with us for me is when he was no longer over-rated. His consistency improved dramatically but of course then came his mega sale and it’s hard not to be over-rated against a price like that, where there is almost no comparable transfers. This is part of the reason why I would like to withhold final judgment but also because I don’t think his development is done.
I am just delighted that we’ve ended up getting such a good price for him while not missing him at all. I mean, does it get any better than that?
I do still think we need to strengthen in midfield though, it’s in results and other players stepping up that we’ve not missed him. That trio up top are hard to cast a shadow over.

25th March 2018 at 3:21 pm #18706Agree with Mak there’s still room for a very very good player already in Coutinho to develop further at Barca,

25th March 2018 at 7:22 pm #18718On the subject of Silva and Coutinho. I only saw Coutinho for a couple of seasons, good but not for 90 minutes, Silva we have watched for close on 10 seasons I think, consistency is the word.
In my early years of watching football yoy would willing pay to watch a player, no matter what team, Matherws, Finney Swift etc I have not had that feeling with modern footballers until Silva came along, brilliant footballer and person, shuns the limelight and loyal, what more can a team ask for. One thing for sure, any team faceing him will have him as priority to stop_____________________________

25th March 2018 at 7:48 pm #18719Following on the back of Nine’s reply to me earlier, I’ve been as per usual an insensitive fool and a selfish one too. I apologize unreservedly to anybody offended.
Every fan from every club can be allowed to celebrate a current and former player they admire and are fond of.
Even though Phillipe left us for Barca, I still highly regard him.
It’s always a joy when he is gleaming and performing as he instantly reminds me of his Liverpool playing days.
This Boy is still immense 🙂

25th March 2018 at 8:12 pm #18720Nil, it takes a big man to admit when they might have got it wrong so credit to you for that but don’t beat yourself up over it.
You’re right to admire Coutinho and think he is immense I would love to have seen him in Chelsea blue that’s how highly I rate him and I’m sure he will go onto even greater things at Barcelona. Cheers 999

25th March 2018 at 8:56 pm #18722Nine, thanks for your continued support mate.
Sometimes, even I can’t explain at times what gets over me? A rush of blood, but still, I shouldn’t have over-reacted the way I did and if anything, should make more effort to make people feel welcome.
As far as Couts goes mate, he was special for us and Barca don’t just pick up anybody for the sake of it. He stood out in his own way in delivering set pieces, and those runs he made from the left-hand, then cutting into the middle and unleashing one.
He’s wonderful professional and a likeable one too in my eyes. We’ll be able to enjoy him when it’s the World Cup, just as long as England don’t have to face Brazil, should they progress 🙂
Cheers

25th March 2018 at 9:28 pm #18724Nil, I’m 100% with you on Coutinho and I’m really excited to see how he continues to develop at Barca.
As I said don’t beat yourself up buddie you’ve admitted you made a mistake and that’s to your great credit. No harm caused and all done and dusted now and we all move on. Cheers 999

26th March 2018 at 8:33 am #18726Anonymousseriously people need to stop telling Nil hes a big man for apologising and that there is no harm done. apologies mean absolutely nothing to him which is why he comes out with them so easily and so often. saying no harm done makes him think his behaviour is acceptable and there are no consequences for them. how many people has nil attacked for absolutely no reason? i’d say probably everyone on here. how many potential posters dont contribute because they dont want to get involved in his drunken rants. he ruins threads constantly and like i’ve said before unless people tell him how it is, he’ll just carry on.
nil, message directly to you. grow the fuck up! stop attacking everyone with personal insults just because you disagree with them. stop telling people what threads they can and cant post on. stop posting when you’ve had a drink. you make yourself look like ridiculous.

26th March 2018 at 8:44 am #18729Paxton, hear what you say mate but there are only two ways of dealing with Nil’s problems helping him along to try and help him overcome them and I would say Nil acknowledging he made a mistake is a step in the right direction or permanently banning him which ideally I’m sure we would all prefer to avoid from the Ed down.

26th March 2018 at 8:47 am #18730Paxo… easy tiger!! 🙂
Absolutely agree with the last sentence, but would also like to think the rest of us are big enough and ugly enough not too take Nil’s little meltdowns too seriously. As sarcastic as it may sound, I quite enjoy them to be honest, find them very entertaining (sorry Nil, but they are mate!)… and most certainly not offended by them as I know it’s Nil’s alter ego that’s posting them.

26th March 2018 at 9:11 am #18734I’m only truly offended by the following:
1. People who take the spoon from the sugar bowl, put it in their own coffee and stir it and then put the spoon back into the sugar bowl. Idiots!
2. People who slice the cheese in the wrong way. Don’t make it look like a fucking hammock! Idiots!
3. People who have been living abroad for a short while, return home and suddenly speak with an accent and throw in foreign words in conversations from wherever they’ve been. Idiots!
4. Child abusers, rapists and murderers. Idiots!
5. Waiters who place the napkin on my lap without me asking for it. It happened at an Indian restaurant once. Don’t. Put. Anything. On. My. Lap. Especially. If. You. Are. Another. Man. You. Idiot!
Nil’s rants don’t really annoy me or offend me, but he should perhaps sometimes wait ten minutes and read his posts again before posting in some cases.
I’m off to make a bonfire with my kids now. Have a good day!

26th March 2018 at 9:29 am #18742AnonymousCutting out negative patterns from your life can be some of the hardest things you’ll ever do. It’s a process and has to be approached with a view to lowering the frequency and “strength” of incidents and not just like an on/off switch. With that in mind I can appreciate progress, for the lack of total success.
