29th January 2022 at 8:18 am #193860Lampard to Everton. Very brave if him too take that on. Canβt see it working out no matter who goes to Everton.
Newcastle scraping the barrels if they are trying to sign niketh. Dan burn is a good solid centre back and not a bad buy if they get him
Whatβs going on at Barca? Have Spotify bought a chunk of the club?

29th January 2022 at 9:00 am #193862Everton like Spurs is a suicidal job, one can say the same about Chelsea and other clubs but at least there the manager gets backed by the owners.

29th January 2022 at 10:39 am #193864It does seem as Nine said that Lampard was simply the last man standing for the Everton job. Not sure it is the wisest move for him at this stage, you wouldn’t say they’re a well run club on the up vs the situation that Gerrard has gone into at Villa. On the other hand, maybe the expectations won’t be particularly high on him other than staying up.
As for Barca, looks like they’ve had to sell their soul to compete again. You can’t make the catastrophic errors they’ve made over the last years and not have any consequences. Think Sky pointed out that for the Β£142 odd million that Liverpool sold Coutinho to Barcelona for, Liverpool have bought the likes of Mane, Salah, Jota & now Diaz all for a combined similar amount.

29th January 2022 at 10:52 am #193865Shines, understand your pain mate. Maybe the only answer is if Levy sells up. As you mentioned, it seems he’s focused on his own portfolio.
These people want a quick return both on and off the pitch. One of the reasons I’m opposed to the idea of new stadiums though for some clubs it will work because they don’t have that expectation to be spending large sums of money on players and their salaries.
I’m really liking Conte since he’s return but feel for the guy as it seems he’s not get so far the backing to get deals over the line. The market’s increasingly competitive and nowadays more than ever, you have to get in there quickly.

29th January 2022 at 10:53 am #193866Frank Lampard to Everton is a risk on both sides but both parties needed this hopefully Frank will keep Everton up and they will sort themselves out at Board level and be able to back him with some signings in the Summer. Baby steps though.

29th January 2022 at 10:54 am #193867Ticket prices need to be in my view thought of if there are empty seats. Unfortunately, we’re experiencing a very challenging time where energy bills and cost of living is high. This won’t be an option in the short term for households to attend live games.

29th January 2022 at 10:57 am #193869Nil, Levy is not the majority shareholder at Spurs Joe Lewis is Lewis probably has t sell up to see real change at Spurs which looks unlikely.

29th January 2022 at 12:13 pm #193870Massive task awaiting Lampard, I don’t know who I feel for the most, Conte, Howe or Lampard, Everton face City, Liverpool and Chelsea in their next 4 games and of course it’s not much easier after that.

29th January 2022 at 12:39 pm #193871Iβm not sure lampard needs it nine mate. I understand he wants to get back into football but Everton are a shambles. Just look at what they did recently. They get rid of director of football cause rafa wanted full control then they sell one of their best players cause of a feud with rafa. Then they sack rafa!!
Itβs crazy and I canβt see much changing with frank or any other manager there. No money to spend etc. itβs a very tough drop and could do frank more damage then good. Players are not good enough

29th January 2022 at 1:00 pm #1938734 of the 5 bottom clubs in the league have now changed their manager since the start of the season. That tells its own story.

29th January 2022 at 1:42 pm #193874Apparently the Lampard Everton saga is still not finalized due to a difference in backroom staff, surely Everton cannot expect Ferguson who was also a candidate to remain as an assistant or for any role, his obviously going to knife Lampard in the back at some point in time.Crazy Everton.

29th January 2022 at 5:07 pm #193876Sean, agree with much of what you say and things have to change at the top at Everton but if the worst was to happen given the situation when taking over I don’t think too many would hold Frank responsible. Agree with Blaze Everton can’t foist Ferguson on to Frank he has to chose his own backroom team.

29th January 2022 at 8:58 pm #193879I’m sure there will in the not too distant future be a managerial opportunity for Frank Lampard. For me personally on his current and personal situation, he should just focus on family. I’ve mentioned this before. Kids grow fast and there’s only that one chance to be able to spend the time in their early development stages.

30th January 2022 at 12:54 pm #193894Dan Burns will be a solid signing for Newcastle Burns must be delighted he’s a Newcastle fan from a boy and was in the Newcastle Academy.
Danny van de Beek looks like he could be Frank’s first signing at Everton excellent signing by Everton if it happens.
