What a complete farce. First chance I’ve had to post on this, today. Wednesday game then completely pointless if we’ve failed to qualify.
I think some PL players should just consider jacking in playing for their country if I’m brutally honest about this. I know it sounds selfish, but nearly after ever passing day, a new player picks up an injury and is added to our list that already compiles of Mo Salah and his self-isolation.
What first 11 will we field this Sunday?
Tired of this Nations League and pointless friendlies. We don’t have the resources; we’re cramming this in and especially in co-vid, we should be limiting our travel.

16th November 2020 at 6:31 pm #170299Nil, personally I think the Nation’s League games should have been shelved given all the circumstances of this season.
Players can reject playing for their country but very few would there’s still a great desire and pride to play for their country amongst players confirmed by Andy Robertson after Scotland qualified for the Euro Finals. “I don’t think I can [sum it up]. There was so much emotion going into the game, and then you get so close and they end up equalising,” Robertson said. “You have to pick yourself up for extra time, which we did. When you get to penalties, you always back Marshy and it’s just whether the lads can hold their nerve, and they managed to do it.
“We’ve come so far with this squad and I back every one of them as they’ve come through a lot of criticism and a lot of negativity at times. We’ve stuck together and battled through it.
“I really hope everyone back home can see the positive side to this as we’re absolutely delighted. I really hope that during a really tough time, we’ve managed to put a smile on a lot of faces.
“It’s the most emotional I’ve been after a game but we can look forward to next summer now.”
Liverpool have probably been hit harder than most over this international break which is unfortunate for them but they’ll still put out a very strong team v Leicester and apart from the Van Dijk injury and Gomez injury all the other injuries are short term injuries and the fixtures look fairly kind to Liverpool up to the new year so I’m not sure they’ll drop too many points between now and January 1st.

16th November 2020 at 8:59 pm #170303Anonymous442, I already have Kilman π He can only cover for one of them though an my other is the long term injured Ferguson. He was 4M and would be playing when he eventually got back, so I didnt mind having him as my 3rd sub you know.
I’ve already taken -4 this week to get a useful player in , instead of Brewster and since he was so cheap, I had to downgrade Zouma, which was actually to Kilman. I guess I’ve got to either take a blank or go and get another -4. I think I’ll just take the hit.
At least in Salah’s case, i have Jota to definitely start. had him as a bit of a super sub and that has worked in my favour, at least until he’s injured in the next 5 minutes π

16th November 2020 at 9:09 pm #170305Sean,
it’s a Body Blow, but I think we should be good enough for a good line up for Sunday; possibly bring in Phillips, Jones and Williams. We have to have Milner in for experience and leadership.
Nine’s right that some of our up and coming fixtures are a lot kinder to us.

16th November 2020 at 9:58 pm #170306AnonymousIt’s got to be Williams against Leicester though hasn’t it, cause Philips will not have the pace to handle Vardy. Either way, it’s one hell of a tough task for anyone, nevermind someone who hasn’t started a PL match yet in his career.
I am not going to say we will definitely lose but Leicester are strong favourites. If the the experienced players that we have left can slam themselves into 5th gear then we’ve got a chance against anyone. There’s still a lot of quality for us to choose from.
I will be looking at Firmino and Mane mostly, one of which always gives us some kind of performance and the other, well we know he can. Of course if Alisson can play a blinder then that would be great too. Keita kinda owes us a performance now TBH, that’s how I look at his situation but there are more reliable players who are still fit.
I realise that what started as a quick response, as relaly hijacked an international thread, so I’ll leave it there for now. Sorry about that.
Grealish to Utd anyone π

17th November 2020 at 4:38 pm #170315Mak-Grealish is bloody great that he should be aiming to play for the likes of Barca,Real,PSG,Bayern,Juve,Liverpool-not sitting in 15th,United.

17th November 2020 at 6:35 pm #170321Thing is though Mav is that United sitting in 15th place is only temporary. I don’t think Grealish will go abroad if he leaves Villa in the Summer it will be to one of the PL’s top Clubs.

17th November 2020 at 7:06 pm #1703249s-City then,or Liverpool, where he will defo win trophies, not @ United where he will find himself fighting for 4th.
Regarding abroad,I was just saying that he has got the qualities to play for any team in the world-he is becoming that good._____________________________

17th November 2020 at 7:08 pm #170325I can see something of Gazza and Lamps in Grealish,a fantastic combination.Maddison should be the next player to make that jump,to another level.

18th November 2020 at 12:19 am #170333AnonymousI agree with both Mav and Nine. Grealish is a top top level player who should and surely will end up at one of the best but that could be Utd again.
Liverpool probably couldnt afford Grealish at this stage and who would he replace? Gini is leaving on a free but you wouldnt swap them. Hendo is the player who would make way. Theres 5 or so years between them, so in that regard it makes sense. He is more talented also and is showing some serious determination this season too but hes maturing… so it makes great sense. Hom also being english is huge but, would really ensure a high as hell price tag.
What would he even cost ? 80-120m, id say. I dont know how long he has left on his contract but…
Liverpool dont have that much lying around but Utd do. Especially with us likely buying a CB soon. Links yo Koulibaly are tantilizing but just no chance. Thay guy from Schalke probably.

18th November 2020 at 9:31 am #170334I actually believe Grealish could easy replace just about any Liverpool player except for Salah and Mane? Same goes for City and Chelsea, he should be able to hold a spot in any team especially nowadays as injuries and viruses are rampant.

18th November 2020 at 11:18 am #170335We are asked not to make “pointless journeys”, well somebody should inform them not to play pointless Internationals and friendlies. Nothing more than ego filling trips for the organisers and out of time for the current situation

18th November 2020 at 1:24 pm #170340Anonymousand now our back up CB Williams has returned from international duty injured. I didnt want to have us play Philips in this match, he’s just not suitable but with Fabinho and Thiago now pretty much confirmed to not be playing, we’ve absolutely no other option than Philips.
How many other Liverpool players are going to get injured here? it was taking the piss 3 injuries ago. We should start a petition to end the international friendlies. maybe one alreayd exists. if the footballing bodies wont do something then the government should. I mean there is literally no point in these silly games.
anyway, I know that’s very negative stuff. I’ve never liked them.

18th November 2020 at 5:15 pm #170352Injuries happening to all teams now, a kind of leveller but some interesting matches coming up fast. Mak…I do not share your view about Liverpool, they can still put out a very good and strong team with a Manager that will play according to the team he puts out and still get a result. This season you are doing well, again,of course, in time everything catches up and all teams go through a cycle…thats football. but at the moment I still see Liverpool as the team to beat if you want spot 1
